This game looks interesting. I saw that there's 2 others on steam but none of them have demos so i'm wary of buying them.

I de-equiped all my melee tonics, turned the difficulty up to hard and grabbed my sawn off double barrel drum magged shotgun. I then proceeded to pistol whip a bruiser to death without taking damage. Turns out that a mini boss with a crippling vulnerability to being circle strafed makes things rather anti climactic.

So far, the only scary bits are Eleanor's messages suddenly taking up the entire screen in a firefight, accidentally locking myself and a Big Sister in a 3x3 meter room and a well placed(and most likely non-scripted) ambush by an Alpha. All of the "corpses" that aren't really dead and picking up a piece of loot on the far side of an "empty" room that is very obviously a hostile choke point are completely stale this time around, especially with that camera able to tell you exactly what each body is and with a little practice, track a stealthed houdini.

"Defending" the little sisters consists of mining the hell out of her with trap rivets/spears and waiting.

Also, drill specialist, drill damage, drill vampire, sports boost, armored shell, some research and all of the "something touches you, nasty things happen to them" make a nearly unstoppable combo.

I just got the underdome addon and found out that it consists of 375 waves of random enemies with a few arbitrary gimmicks tossed in. TYVM for giving me Kick Ass, Dead Aim, Weapon Masters and Naked on wave 95(boss, Reaver) on my first long tournament. It's totally enjoyable to replay that entire three hour fight with NO other rewards after he hit me through a tiny hole in my cover several times as fast as the Reaver's Edge can fire.

I uninstalled it when i found out that they were dumping extra units onto my HD every patch and then give me in game pop ups demanding money before letting me use them. I will not be purchasing Nap either.

Something about the word "Noobtube" makes me chuckle on the inside.
For added effect, pronounce it as if you were a foghorn. "I am camping with da noOOOobtoOOOob"

Back on topic, Bioshock 2. Yes you play as big daddy now. Yes they sound impressive when you occasionally hear them roam about. No, it's NOT fun when you hear those loud banging footsteps ALL THE FUCKING TIME.

That game also suffered from having one overpowered character, one character overpowered in a different way and 4 useless ones. There's W+Q Delgado that kills everything but bosses and for the rare examples where he can't target anything, there's Black and her ammo free extra damage hyper agile bullet time redeemer sniper.
Really? I thought the genius and her boyfriend with the shotty were pretty good. I was looking forward to using them on the last boss, but...
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Her abilities are to pump things full with a ton of bullets in a really short time and to cause explosions, something Delgado and Black can do better and at much greater distances. As for the albino afro american(afro british?), his shotty is inferior to the noobtube for spash damage, his rifle is inferior to the gatling gun for sustained dps and his ranged tele/pyrokinesis or ranged stun ball are less effective at taking enemies down then either remote controlled bullets or that goddamn homing missile dragon thing, not to mention incredibly sluggish to use.

I liked ramming armatures off cliffs and then landing on top of them better then that awfully slow metal detector thin.

Have quick time events been mentioned?  I know you guys hate quick time events.  They're kind of a hit-or-miss thing for me.  If they're so difficult you need to go through them for fifteen minutes memorizing the button combination (This post is directed at you, Jericho) then they completely destroy your immersion and ruin the game's pacing.  If they're easy, but not so easy you can't lose, they can be way better, and pretty intense, especially if it involves a lot of crazy dodging and well-choreographed combat (Jericho had this, but it was so hard you didn't get a good idea of what you were doing, which ruined it.

Hah. When you mentioned QTE, Jericho is the first thing that popped into my mind. I went so far as to download someone's save with all cheats unlocked and enabled the "automatically pass all quick-time events" one.

I was 12 when i played half life 2 on release. Parents were hosting a party so i used that opportunity to spend the entire evening playing. About 10:30 i reached the chopper battle. Was awesome. Because i was young and sucked at the game, it took me untill after dark to defeat it and get through black mesa east. Then I get to Ravenholm.

Fucking poison headcrabs still creep me out.

Well, firelaser.

Nice post time, by the way.

So should I have used any heavy weapons besides the laser?  The laser was cool, but I get the feeling it didn't do as much damage as other stuff.
If you can put up with 2 hours of not using it between each shot, the M920 Cain will serve as your end all be all answer to anything with more hitpoints then a YMIR mech.

You had me really exited that TES V would be a sequel/successor of Morrowind instead of Oblivion. Then you really disappointed me.

Oh yeah, the boss.

I dunno, I kinda liked his laser.  It was a pretty cool laser.

Weak Point has a laser? Afaik he only breathes fire, knocks platforms out of the sky with his tail and summons more collectors, most of which die instantly because of the other two attacks.

Also, i imported a save i found on the internet because mine was gone after my Win 7 upgrade and it completely screwed up the sound. Radio chatter is inaudible, conversations are extremely quiet, in game speech fades out completely after a meter or two and hacking only has sound on one side of my headphones.

Playing on Normal, which is the lowest it goes. AFAIK I'm not being flanked, i fight at the absolute edge of the distance i can distinguish soldiers from branches and they'd need to be sonic the hedgehog to zip around me that fast and none of my team members noticed anything beyond the enemies straight ahead. Most of the time I'm crawling through the underbrush anyway. Sending the rest of the squad to move or assault a location results of them making a mad dash to the target location ignoring everything in the way and getting cut down by bullets flying in from behind the draw distance or dropping to the ground and plinking at something i can't see, which results in them being picked off eventually by return fire.

System is a GTX260XXX, 8GB of 1600Mhz RAM and a 3.4Ghz quad core CPU which should be enough to run a console port 3 times over.

I downloaded the demo for the game, tried it out, found the interface horrible, tried to move to the next objective, got shot by something outside my draw distance, restarted, took cover, aimed in the direction of the dots on the compass that are supposed to represent enemies, got shot again without seeing them. Third time, i do see a few pixels which i guess were enemies, take out my marksman rifle with a scope, put the badly cluttered scope over the guy's chest and shoot. Dust cloud appears from behind him and the return fire injures me. While i am preoccupied with my very clunky health kit, something kills me despite being prone behind a wall. Another attempt, i slowly crawl forward and let my team do the shooting. I get shot and again I'm without indication on what saw me or how since I'm prone in grass and i didn't see any enemies on the horizon. I try something different, and hijack a car. Crawl up to a house with a car, get the notice that there's a support gunner 300 meters out, get shot before they finish talking. Was crawling uphill and I'm pretty sure that ridge isn't 300 meters away. Next time i make it to the house with the car. Spot somebody in the window. I get out of his los and riddle his thin wooden wall full of bullets. Get a hit indicator. Something shoots me and i don't know what. Sneak into house from another angle, sneak inside with a knife. Sneak behind a guy and stab him. He turns around and i drop dead before he fires a single bullet. Next try, i grenade the room. Grenade explodes, i walk in and die. Again, no idea what or how. Go to the forums, ask what I'm doing wrong. Most polite answer was "moron".

Is there anybody with more experience with the game that can tell me wtf is going on? And don't yell "realism" because invisible enemies shooting their SAW's accurately THROUGH a hill and a soldier with an evil glare that kills more efficiently then a knife in the back or a grenade is NOT realistic.
