I don't know if this is the place to discuss it, but I had an idea, and I was wondering if it would be worth it to try learning coding from almost no experience in order to implement it, or if I'd have better luck just bidding for someone else to do it.

Anyway, the idea is instruments and a skill (or several) related to playing them. It would add a bit of life to the world as well as another way to keep your spirits up. Plus, consider the iconography of a group of travelers sitting around, listening to someone playing a mournful melody on an acoustic guitar.

The mansions should probably have better security measures, honestly. Who in the hell's going to live in a mansion that doesn't have ADT's newest alarm system, a fully-stocked panic room, and a few questionably legal robotic guards for good measure?

Let me guess: stupid people don't know the difference between fletching and felching?

Anyway, I guess the whole 'can't fire arrows unless they're fletched' thing makes sense... but then why the extra step? Just make the entire crafting process into one big step and get rid of the 'unfletched' variants.

They specifically promised that they were going to replace the BR system with a table system, where each vehicle had a specific list of other vehicles they could be matched up with. It was a lot more specific than the BR system.

It was supposed to go in back in 1.43. I guess they scrapped the idea.

The unusable non-fletched arrows are in the Experiementals, but from how it reads in the item descriptions, it's supposed to be like that. They intentionally made it so that you can't fire an arrow unless it's fletched.

Not that it requires particularly good ability. Small game arrows only require Survival 2 to fletch, and the other arrows only require Archery 2 and no Survival skill at all. Still, it's not entirely realistic to be unable to fire non-fletched arrows. Honestly, I remember someone doing a study that found that non-fletched arrows had almost the same flight ballistics as fletched ones, and only screw-fletched arrows had any real benefit (screw-fletched meaning that the fletchings were twisted a little so they made the arrow spin in flight).

Of course, I can't cite the study because it's ancient and I forgot where it came from, so I may be completely wrong.

The Maus should be knocking all the Tigers down a bit on the BR scale.

I'm still massively angry that they haven't outright scrapped the BR system yet. At least in its current iteration, the vehicles that can end up fighting each other can end up being vastly mismatched. This goes for both tanks and planes.

You also need Archery skill to craft arrows, so you're going to have to find some way to shoot your bow.

That said, it's pretty stupid you have to put fletching on arrows to fire them. As long as they're decently straight, they'll fly true enough without.

I've never had a problem with even German APHE. Yeah, it's weak, but it has better penetration than its peers and generally has better sensitivity, so it usually explodes about where I want it to. I always aim for modules, though. Turret ring, ammo rack, engine if I'm desperate. I've seen too many damn projectiles, both solid shot and explosive, manage to go right through crew members and not kill them. I think Gaijin fucked up crew damage calculations completely, but that's neither here nor there. What's important is that APHE actually causes ammo racks to explode, and ammo racks exploding is the only reliable way to ensure a one-shot kill. Otherwise, disabling the enemy gun is the most important thing you can do, and... well, APHE is good at that, too.

Here's what I do: I don't use APCR.

I don't ever use APCR.

It's not because APCR isn't good, of course... but it's because APCR isn't good. All the penetration in the world isn't worth the lack of damage. I only ever use explosive-filled shells, really, because most other shell types can't do significant harm to a target at all.

Were you aiming for the ammo racks? Tigers have huge ammo racks on the sides of the tank.

Keep in mind that, even if you don't own a certain tank, you can always use the Preview option to look at its armor/modules. I've driven Tigers a lot (and faced them a fair few times, too), they go up like Christmas trees if you manage to hit the ammo.

If you keep getting Kursk, I could understand the frustration, but being unable to keep yourself out of harm's way until you get to safe engagement distances on just about any other map is not hard. Yes, there are plenty of other places with wide open terrain, but the other maps also have lots of areas with hills, gulches, houses, and other terrain to put between yourself and the enemy. Even Kursk has places where you can sneak around and flank, though they're a bit more sparse and harder to pull off. Also, if you really have no choice but to get in the firing line of a Tiger, remember that you're a lot harder to hit when you're moving laterally to them. Snake towards them, or don't even snake if you have cover to run to.

The Tiger is perfectly defeatable, especially when you keep in mind most of the Tiger players are probably not terribly creative, or even smart. Keep in mind the normal flow of traffic in a map and avoid it until you're set to start shooting.

The Tiger and the IS-1 have the same BR, and the Tiger is in the middle of Tier III in research. It supposedly minimums out against the T-34-57 and the SU-85. The 85 can penetrate the front of a Tiger at a click out with standard ammo, and the 57 can pen at 500 meters with upgraded ammo. The side armor can be easily penned by both of them from a click out with standard ammo. Don't blame the vehicle's placement, blame a blatantly broken matchmaker, or if you're facing it where you're supposed to, figure out what you're doing wrong when engaging Tigers.

SPAA's pretty fucking good at harassment, if nothing else. Especially the American AA, .50 cal guns can't really hurt unless they get into a lucky position, but they can wreck mobility and their constant streams of fire can actually blind enemies just from all the smoke.

Oh, no, it's planes, too. The Germans mostly stick to Stukas and Bf 109s, though, and if you're playing a tank none of that matters anyway because you're probably not going to be shooting up at anything that's not actively going after you.

The key is patient observation. If you see a tank, don't snap shot. ID the target first. Even planes can be identified pretty easily visually, and if they can't, you're probably too far away to shoot them anyhow.

I'm pretty sure it also changes creature spawns.
