Got myself a netbook, now I'm wondering what games I should get for it.
It has 1 gig of RAM, a 150 gig HD, a dual core 1.66 Ghz processor, and an Intel 945 Express Graphics Chip with 256mb of memory.

Games I already have and have previously had.

Battlefield 1942
Dwarf Fortress
The Sims
Eve
Sam & Max
Jagged Alliance 2
N64 Emulator
Starcraft
Elder Scrolls 3 : Morrowind
Counter Strike 1.6
Grand Theft Auto 3

Plugging a controller into your computer is like plugging a strap-on on your wife: It could be fun, but it just seems like you're missing the point.

Funniest thing I've seen on the internet all week.

I love Combat Arms too, but don't kid yourself. It's pretty low tier.

And you haven't posted one bit of evidence, I'd like to see some. I've only spent my whole life dedicated to firearms, what could I know?

"I'm not going to respond to it. This conversation is officially closed in my eyes and if you insist on continuing to derail my thread after your response to this message then you are just trolling"

Holy Christ, can you not handle heated discussion?

Edit: Proof that you are indeed, wrong wrong wrong

Yes, and gun myths are very common, and they would not be nearly as annoying if it weren't for the fact that every testosterone filled BRO is attracted to guns, so you hear people try to act like experts all the time. I have a million terrible stories. One happened to a friend of mine, he was at the range and saw this brodude shooting a WASR-10
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
and they started chatting a bit. My friend asked the brodude "What do you think of the AK-74?"
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
and the brodude scoffed and looked at him from under his sunglasses and said "I think you mean the ak FORTY SEVEN, dude! How about you learn about guns before you hang around a gun range?"

Ugh, my head.

And of course "Actually I've encountered several sources suggesting that the K98 has the capability to take off a limb." is just rage worthy.

Because I live in the best state for firearms enthusiasts I am able to fire several minigun variations.

Shit you not, for lots of cash you can fire one yourself, comes in a variety of calibers.

Also, I never once criticized the game for being unrealistic, I was just correcting IRL logical fallacies.

"Sure there's are such situations, although I think they're very unlikely."

No, no, no. God damn, you say this then you say how you hate cars exploding in movies. It's just as retarded. Bullets make much smaller wounds than people think. Everytime I hear someone say "THISLL BLOW A HOLE IN YOU THE SIZE O' UR DADDIES FIST" I want to slap them.

heh, people have been conditioned by hollywood to believe that gunshots cause huge wounds, but in reality most of the wound is just a hole the size of the round fired, with a slightly larger internal wound cavity. If you asked any gunsmith if the 7.92x57 could rip off an arm, they'd laugh in your face, and I've already spread this funny little story to a few people. It's quite ridiculous.

In fact, one of the people i told this to told me why that guy probably thinks that the 7.92 can rip a limb off. There was a History channel demonstration on bullets, and for the modern rifle round they used the Kar98k and its 7.92x57 round. They shot at a wet clay block, and the hole created was the size of a football.

But there is never a condition where a single bullet could ever blow off anyones limb. Despite what the internet may tell you, lol.

Also, I hate referring to the 50. cal BMG as the .50 cal. I much prefer the other measurement, 12.7x99mm. It's a more accurate description.

Single Action Army, Colt M1911, FN 1903 (rare), Mauser C96, Luger P08, Nagant M1895 revolver, Reichsrevolver 11mm

All the WW1 era pistols I can think of, off the top of my head.

I know Smith & Wesson produced a revolver for WW1 use, but I can't remember it.

Yeah, i've fired the S&W 500. Was very fun. The serrations on the top of the barrel helped recoil a lot, I've fired smaller caliber weapons that have had more recoil.

I fired it during the day, so no rad fireball for me.

And yeah, a 25mm explosive round is likely to destroy a limb, but 25mm is out of the realms of firearms and into the realm of anti-material weaponry.
25mm is = 1.00 caliber. Twice as wide as the .50 caliber round.

I've fired the Lahti 20mm anti-tank (or the anti-everything) rifle a few times. It's fucking LOUD LOUD LOUD.

"Actually I've encountered several sources suggesting that the K98 has the capability to take off a limb."

As someone who's living is firearms, and greatest love in life is firearms, let me say "HAW HAW NO". Ask any real firearms expert if the little 7.92x57mm round can remove a limb. That is NOT how bullet wounds work, at all, and I am offended that someone who would call himself a respectable source for firearms information would say such a ludicrous thing.

"Also in a game where you can release mutant fireball breathing bunny-rabbits I'm hearing a lot of bitching about accuracy... :|"

I would like to note, I don't give two shits about how realistic your mod is, I'm just telling you how it is so you can better your mod and minimal knowledge of firearms.

"In a way, the M4 should be more accurate than the M16 not due to accuracy on the firing range but rather due to the M4 weighing less and being smaller, and thus the M4 is slightly easier to move around in close-quarters."

This is a good idea, it's the only good way to represent the carbines advantages over the rifle.

"Your next goal should be to make the 9mm and the .45 distinct weapons.  I have suggested before that the 9mm be more accurate and less damaging than the .45 colt."

Good idea, .45 ACP is a much heavier and wider bullet than the 9x19mm round, and as such is less accurate and more powerful. Also note, the magazine capacity of a .45 auto is likely to be around 50%-75% the capacity of a 9x19 firing weapon. The 9x19 will be more accurate, less powerful, and have a larger magazine of course. 9x19 ammo should be cheaper than .45 ACP.

A few likely candidates for a poor left wing organization, from most expensive to least.

Colt Government Model 1911 .45 - 600 USD
Glock 19 9x19mm - 500 USD
Hi-Point .45 - 150 USD
Hi-Point 9x19mm - 150 USD

There are dozens more guns I could think of, but you don't give a shit.

I'm pretty pissed at myself.

I had a 8 or so paragraph reply written going into huge detail about WW1 Weaponry, but I accidentally kicked the surge protector switch and turned off my computer. Donkey Balls.

Just ask me a question, and I can guarantee a long, well written answer.

I should note, no bullet will ever rip off a limb ever. No exceptions. None.

No, not even the 50. BMG, no especially not the .50AE from the infamous Desert Eagle.

Also, I should note that the Mosin Nagant Bolt Action Rifle was made in the millions upon millions, and to this day are very common and often a novice shooters first rifle because they are so damn cheap. You can get them around 80-200 dollars.

Garands are kind of expensive IRL. They cost 800 for a good one, 500 for a piece of shit pulled out of a ditch in Korea.

No, new rifles are not generally lighter than old ones. In fact they mostly weigh the same if not more than older rifles.

What's really heavy is the ammo.

Older rifles should get much more range.

I would like to note, suppressors on rifles ARE STILL LOUD AS FUCK AND WILL HURT YOUR EARS IF YOU SHOOT WITHOUT HEARING PROTECTION.

Silenced pistols are still kind of loud too. Depending on the pistol, it can sound like someone knocking on your door really hard. Point is it will still attract attention.

I'm just going to say, the ending to GTA4
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
filled me with more sorrow than any movie has, ever. Except maybe Gran Torino. But that was more of a mixture of pride/sorrow.
