Tack, your story was depressing. I wasn't around for VN. Sadness?
I'm not good with starts. I wasn't really good at anything really, exepting most video games, and those don't count. I mean, I can end. I can end alot of things, things like stories, conversations, lives.
My screen name is Karnewarrior. That's all you'll get out of me. Probably all you'll get out of the others too. Even Jackrabbit lost his humor. That's a screenname too.
Still, I have to start somewhere. I geuss I'll start with the first thing I remember.
Cold grass pressesd against my face, soft birdsong faded into my consciousness, and wind blew hairlike seeds into my face. I lay there for a while, letting the air caress me before rising to face this nightmare. I knew it was a nightmare, because there was no way in hell I just teleported through my computer. I only rose up, actually, because I heard someone cursing just over the ridge, and it sure as hell didn't sound like what I thought it would be.
Maybe I should explain my thoughts. I was sitting at my computer, running both DF and the forums at the same time, when I was here. There was no ominous humming, or creppy flashes, just one second, and the next.
Anyway, I Slowly picked my way over a small ridge, which was obscuring my vision of the cursing woman. As I crested it, I smiled, because I not only recognized her visage, but her accent as she was now speaking in english. Only two people I know would have that accent. My aunt, and one of the more famous forumites. Thank god, I had a probable ally in my escape.
Thank god, Vester was cursing out one gangly teenager, who was also speaking english.
"ARE YOU TELLING ME THAT YOU CAN'T GET ME OUT OF HERE? I HAVE A TEST TOMORROW AND I'M NOT GOING TO LET SOME SNOT-NOSED LITTLE BOY RUIN MY LIFE BECAUSE HE CAN'T FIX WHAT HE'S DONE!"
"Vester, I-"
"IF YOU INTERRUPT ME ONE MORE TIME I SWEAR I'LL TEAR YOUR FU-"
I decided it was time to intervene. I mean, Vester was normally pretty civil on the forums. I knew that wasn't a good gauge of personality, but neither was the situation we were in.
"Vester!" I cried, before she could finish.
That's it. That's all. I'll have more tomorrow, and don't bother pressing any of the others for it. We all had our heads wiped clean. I had it written down. Thank god, I wouldn't be able to get this out there otherwise.
No, thank god? Thank Armok. He's done a hell of alot more.
