That sounds good, i'll also include pictures of relevant/exciting/cool looking stuff.

Well here we are, standing in a damp field next to the wrecks of the wagon. I don’t like this place, it seems… eerie somehow, and that river to the northwest looks dangerous.

The land is nothing special, no exposed rock, with only a short amount of difference in height present, we sent Tarran out with all the armour we could salvage, hopefully he will be able to find some help, but for now we need to dig in.

I have decided to name this place Ortistdatan, I’m not sure why but ReclusedIrons seems appropriate for this Armok-Forsaken field in the middle of nowhere.

OGRES!! I knew this place was bad! Almost as soon as I had finished writing a few days ago Imp yelled that she had seen an ogre approaching from the south, immediately we set to work, digging into the mountain.

Working as though Armok himself was looking over their shoulders Robina and Imp set to work, carving out a crude hall for us to take shelter in.

That’s all for now, I plan to go and cut some wood, so that we may make ourselves some doors.

21st of Granite

We have been digging for some days, during this time I have gotten to know my companions better, Imp, Robina, Johann, Gnooble, Darkness and Wilson, all fine dwarves.

Thankfully we did not have to resort to wooden doors, Imp and Robina found a deposit of Limestone while digging, which both provides us with much needed stone and, if we end up stuck here, is good news for any potential steel making.

For some extra security a pair of War Dogs have been tied up just inside the door.

So far we have dug a small way into the hill, the first floor simply contains an entryway, below are food ad workshops, while below that, in the Limestone layer, are our dining and sleeping rooms.

(Picture wise how many should I do? Lots of just to accent important events?)

Summary, nothing much happened, we started digging

Also sorry, Darkness and Rob(ina) are both female (as opposed to male like was asked for)

Ok, starting dorfs are set and ready, just have to do some homework (;-;) and i can get going.

To be honest that would be helpful is ya don't mind waiting a short while Tarran, there wouldn't be much for your character to do at the start, and the extra miner would be REALLY helpful.

If ya want Ic wise you could have split from the group to find more help, and then you return with that help later, (as in a migrant wave)

Does that sound ok to ya?

(Note, A.C. Is After Civilisation. Cannonically this is counting in years from when the first Civilisations were formed, in game terms it is from year 0.)

[1st of Granite, 300 A.C.]
Journal of Navok Ducimstorlu

I never thought that things would end up like this.

I can scarcely believe it was only a few weeks before that was back in Dalzatlitast, things had been going great, I was a captain in The Winged Blades, the personal bodyguard-squad of King Oddon Langgudoslan himself!

Noone expected the attack, when The Wild Sabres succeded from The Lined Artifact back in150 A.C. there was plenty of bad blood on both sides, enough for 70 years of war, but the war was long done with, the bones buried and the cities rebuilt.

Still, I guess that has all changed now. I was eating when it happened, the Loyalists had dug under the fortress, collapsing parts of it to cause chaos and create entry points for their troops, one of those points was the dining hall I was sat in. I don’t remember much after that, apparently the Loyalists took the fortress with little trouble, killing all they could find.

I was lucky, the fall took me down into the sewer systems, where I was picked up by a group of dwarves using the tunnels to escape, as Dalzatlitast was sacked my unconscious body was put onto a wagon and taken off into the night.

Reports from other groups confirmed that this had happened in other places as well, in one fell swoop the Loyalists had destroyed all 3 major Mountain Homes:

Onoltu - the Majestic spire fortress, built out of pure marble.
Gutor – The largest Dwarven city ever built, miles upon miles of tunnels connecting in a grid, holding nearly 2000 dwarves within.
And finally Dalzatlitast – Built inside the crater of the might volcano Olsmo, where Obok Kolalen killed the demon Olsmo.

All gone, and in the days after the Loyalists swept through the land, destroying all they could find.

Now I sit here in this wagon, three weeks on. Me and 6 other dwarves, just trying to survive.

Taken from the Journel of Navok Ducimstorlut, founder of Orstistdatan

Ok, I.C. stuff over. This is going to be a community fort run by me. We are using Vanilla-DF with one added race, the Loyalists, which are basically a copy of dwarves with made hostile.

Currently there are six slots open, feel free to request a dwarf/profession.

Unfortunately I have no idea how to use a program to change genders, and after reading Migurust it seems there are some *ahem* problem with that, so simply state you’re preferred gender and then its first come first serve gender-wise.

Yes I’m aware of the placeholders in the IC stuff, they will be replaced when the fort in genned.

Also a point here, while this won’t come up until later battles during narrative of fights involving the loyalists they are identified by their armour, which is Black Steel with a gold trim. The forts dwarves will be wearing undecorated armour, unless this is done in-game.

Soo yeah, anyone who wants in feel free to post.

(Final note: While I do know how to play i'm not the best player, apart from certain aspects I have planned out feel free to offer advice/suggestions/things you think would look cool.

Simple: Just find a creature, any creature, in the raws and copy/paste its entry.
Let cook for one worldgen, and done! Instant madness.

WRONG

Copy and Paste the ENTIRE RAW file, and then prepare for even more messed up stuff.

Ok, whoever made a long tunnel with various Fortress based rooms and linked it to my Fort rules XD

Not sure about the errorlog thing, but I think it was the [CAN_LEARN] tag, I didn't really notice it but now I think back, they only had recruits and peasants. SO they probably had noone to make armour/weapons and noone who could equip them.

Actually it definitely was the [CAN_LEARN] tag because between a not working code and a working example that's all that was changed.

FAKEEDIT: The only thing about cultists in the errorlog was this

Quote from: errorlog.txt
loop path fail: <invalid goal> Cultist,335,178,15 -> 345,177,15: Id #74260:Path Goal Seek Station:Station Mill Anywhere at 52,298,15

Does that mean anything to anyone?

I don't necessarily mean man it al the time, but popping up there when someone is asking for a job isn't that bad for you, and it lets them actually play.

On a completely different track, anyone know when the server will be back up?

Honestly, giving jobs out just means that those assistants who wish to cause chaos now have an expanded ability to do so, specially if they can ask for what they want. I think a random assignment of open positions would work best. So if you join midround, you can get anything from lawyer to medic.

Most assistants just cause chaos because there's nothing else to do, and they basically get ignored if they ask for something to do.

Can I make a recommendation? Lots of bored assistants with no jobs = asking for trouble.

Unless you don't know the station layout and want to have a look around, there is literally nothing to do as an assistant. The goon servers let people fill empty slots midgame, either actually manning the job assignment computer or implementing something like that might be a good idea.
