You're probably missing some 32-bit SDL libraries.  I'm on a 32-bit machine at the moment so I can't confirm anything, but I've fixed this sort of thing before.  Shall I give you my public key?

Not strictly related to the FotF, but I'm curious...

What text editor do you prefer to use when developing/writing raws?

This one's easy: Nope. DF tiles don't have any concept of ceiling which makes the upside down part impossible.
They might not have a concept of ceiling, but they probably do have a concept of "is tile z++ empty?"

DF General Discussion / Re: The Perfect Computer to run Dwarf Fortress

One that supports tmpfs.  The time it takes to save the world to a spinning disk is huge, saving to a tmpfs then copying it to the disk in the background is a lot faster.

You could feasibly modify the `df' launch script that's distributed with the Linux version of the game to mount -t tmpfs tmpfs ./data/save/ && cp -r ./data/save.real/* ./data/save/ and clean up afterwards with cp -r ./data/save/* ./data/save.real/ && umount ./data/save/.

This advice applies mostly to generating a world and Adventuring.  Fortress mode won't benefit much.  The biggest difference you'd see is that your seasonal auto-saves are faster.  Also, this advice is pointless if you have one of them fancy pants solid state drives.

No need to thank me!  Here's the bug report, so you can keep up to date: http://bay12games.com/dwarves/mantisbt/view.php?id=5677

Here's hoping for a speedy resolution, all the best!

Ah sorry, I didn't think of that.  If you gave me some more information, I'd be happy to file a bug report for you.

I'll need to know which version of Dwarf Fortress you're running, and which version of OS X.

Based on that error, and the contents of g_src/init.cpp, it looks like Toady has a problem with his build chain.  Specifically, he's probably missing a "-DCURSES" somewhere.  I suggest you file a report on the bug tracker.

I receive an error that it isn't supported when I try to run the game.

Copy and paste that error here, if you would be so kind?

Newfoundland / Border Collie crosses.  No other breed compares, as far as I'm concerned.  Especially not little yapping rat-dogs...

Depending on how much free tech support you're willing to offer, you could setup a local copy of the wiki using a local install of MediaWiki/PHP/Apache.  Just make sure that Apache isn't listening to anything besides 127.0.0.1 and import the wiki from here: http://df.magmawiki.com/index.php?title=Special:Export

Because I'm running android and not linux? It's based off the linux kernel but it's not actually linux.

It is Linux, it's just got a strange userspace that you won't find anywhere else...
