FYI, the pre-installed link is down.

Here you go, the directory where all the deep qantas can be found, including both versions.

Will castration, condoms and abortions be added at some point?

Urist McStoneworker has completed Boilingbridges, a green glass condom!

It menaces with spikes of glass and cat bones.

Also, I just had an entire immigrant wave wiped out by a grass fire started by a grouchy imp.
If you allow yourselves to use exploits: Stockpiles stop grass fires. You don't even have to fill them. Just the act of a higher entity (you) thinking "There should be something there." stops the fire from progressing. Make it accept nothing, just to be safe.

That was both the funniest and most informative thing I've read today. Good show.

Mine would probably have to be equipping my legendary swordsman with an adamantite sword, and then wondering five minutes later why a crew of like four new recruits were all sickbed'd after getting dozens of Give Drink: cancellations.

DF Suggestions / I Like Big Buttes and I Cannot Lie

I'd like to see more interesting geographic features, mesas in particular.

They would be scattered about in sandy, windy parts of the map, especially deserts and wastelands. A mesa would add an advantage to a biome normally overlooked because of its harshness in the form of an awesome tower-like fort that stacks around a dozen layers over the surface.

I could see it being very doable, since all of the conditions for natural structures like these are hard-coded into the game already. They'd pretty much be an inverted chasm.

What do you guys think?

And shut up, it was an awesome joke

I figured out how to make a world of entire deserts.

The trick is, drainage changes a lot.  High drainage creates hills I think, low drainage creates flat area.  If I remember correctly, it may be the other way around.  I don't know why.  It might have to do with erosion.

After that just make rain low and temperature high.

Then I turned savagery up high and made 90% of the map evil.  I have yet to have a civilization survive for 400 years.  Hehehe.  Methinks I should tone it down a wee bit.

woa, all that's left is for someone to mod the game to add spice melange to the sand, and blamo, DWARVES OF DUNE

I never read anything about fremen and throwing babies in the original books. Is that from Kevin J. Anderson?

It was in Dune I, during Paul training the Death Soldiers, I think he was explaining them to someone.

I've been reading the Dune series the last few months, and this reminded me of something from it.

Fremen(desert people) mothers would often throw their own babies at their enemies to give them a few extra seconds to eviscerate the confused target.

Maybe they're on to something?
