They seem about 25% cheaper than BC lower mainland area, (which is reportedly the most expensive location in Canada at the moment, dammit.)

Yeah... As bad as I want to move out to BC, I'm really just not sure I could afford anything liveable there. I'm doing well enough for now on the east coast, anyway.

Hussie has edited every individual page a little over four times without you ever catching on. In the pre-edited pages, Homestuck is called Scarecrow Jalopy and stars a piece of corn named Escobar.

This is one of those few fortresses that will go down in Dwarven history as greatest examples of Majesty and Ingenuity of the Dwarvenkind.

Wrong tense-- Flarechannel's been well-known as the best of the best of the best for quite some time now.

Now everytime you read about the postures, you'll be thinking about them

Well, now he will.

I guess I might mention I recently went from 75mg to 100mg on my antidepressants. I used to take 50mg for about a year, then we took a baby step and we finally decided to bump it up to 100mg. I'm not having suicidal thoughts or anything, just a lack of interest in.. Socializing, I guess you could say?

Is there any particular reason you upped the dosage? Drugs do mess with how you feel and behave, whether they're prescribed or not. If you feel more apathetic and uninterested in the social aspects of life after upping the dosage of behaviour-altering drugs... well, I'm seeing a correlation.

Next time, I'm going to do something. I don't know what, but something. I may not flip out and hurt him, but I'm going to get a grip on him and tell him to fucking stop the bullshit, and to get over whatever his problem is.

If he's insulting you for no reason he's just an asshole (well, if he's insulting you for a reason, he's an asshole anyways but at least you could stop doing whatever provoked him). I suggest avoiding swearing 'for emphasis' when you confront him, as that's just going to escalate things and your feud will spiral wildly out of control like another paint stroke on the Red Baron's plane.

(and what's a 'facemask'? is this some newfangled phrase for "he wouldn't get out of my face"?)

umm... Can I suggest Michael Crichton... more specifically sphere, Jurassic park, and Prey. Those were my favorites but I read through a whole bunch of his books.

I think Prey was my favourite Crichton novel. I can't remember that much of it now, and the reveals weren't that exciting for me, but I enjoyed the writing and pace.

While I have little doubt the bill will pass, there's no way they'll be able to make it work.

That about sums up my feelings.

I still haven't had time to finish Timequake yet, but I'm hoping to get into The Book of Negroes after that. I wasn't interested in reading the latter for a while, but I met Lawrence Hill and after talking to him I'm really excited about it.

But no Japanese in his right mind would--

No matter what you end that sentence with, it would still be wrong.

Look down stairwell... (the one behind the fridge)

The wall is cracking rather heavily. You’re not sure what consequences this will have, but Mr. Angrypants down below is certainly getting impatient with you.

Coax skree into room by thinking happy thoughts (possibly of cold?).  Once skree is fine with being in there, see if when skree touches the handle the thing opens, if it does then train skree to hold the lever by thinking happy thoughts when skree touches the lever, and nudgeing skree towards the lever when skree is not touching it.

Skree refuses to go anywhere near the room, despite your attempts at assurance.

Go back to the Piano and plug it in, begin playing music with Skree~!

You cannot get Skree to the piano room. It refuses to pass through the hatch room.

Go and examine the bottom floor of the house, check the computer to see if someone accessed it and forgot to log out!

Nope. You’re still going to have to figure out where Dr. Feringus would have left her password. Perhaps that notebook from your bag …

Also see if the lever turns.

Yup. The hatch seems to only open if it is set to the bottom position and being held; when cranked towards the top the room feels warmer and the smell of burning metal increases significantly.

Test skrees reaction to the following mental images:

You pick up Skree and concentrate as best you can on a number of images.

Quote
ocluids

There is possibly a hint of sadness, but it’s hard to tell. There’s little response.

Quote
humans

Fear.

Quote
the big ocluid

Immense fear. A touch of sadness as well, perhaps?

Quote
the scientist

You can’t seem to get across the idea, but thinking of a labcoat fills Skree with even more fear.

Quote
the stone ring

You aren’t sure exactly what feeling you get about this – Awe? Reverence? It’s very strong but very passive.

Quote
the things that were probably ocluid egges

Thinking about the cocoons gives Skree a feeling of great sadness.

Quote
the varius symbols found around this place

Thinking of the ever-present eye symbol gets no reaction. Perhaps it is a mundane sign?

Quote
lightning (or a storm)

Excitement.

Finally fell asleep today after going near to four days without sleep (and doing quite a lot over those three days). Only got seven hours, which doesn't really make up for anything, but hey, it's something and I'm happy to have it.
How do you work such witchcraft? Four days?

Eh, it happens sometimes. If I can fall asleep I can get a good healthy amount of sleep, but it's really difficult for me to actually get to a sleeping state. Usually I spend a lot of time lying in the dark each night to at least get some rest for my body, even if it isn't remotely as healthy as a good dose of REM sleep.

Also, I talked a friend who's not really into hard sci-fi into reading I, Robot. Hell yes.

Yeah I've got no icons, you wanna fight about it?
's quite nice not having crap covering up you nice wallpaper isn't it? :)
White space is people, too! It deserves as much as the main part of the picture! But yeah, I used to have a bunch of icons and random pictures I was afraid of clicking on to see what they were, so I just got rid of everything. Sure, it takes a little bit longer to open some programs or folders, but it's the price I pay for having a nice, clean desktop.

Not even shortcuts? I keep a lot of folder shortcuts on my desktop. Not much else, but shortcuts are damn handy, especially to Program Files, etc.
