The Captain furrowed his brow, wishing he had taken more language training. "Anyone speak Russian?"

"The 5th might be gone, but there might be survivors. If there are more friendly faces I'd rather have them with us, then have to trek it alone all the way back to the atlantic."

"As for provisions, I agree. No sense using them when we have a perfectly good forest of food. If one of you is willing to try their hand searching for some food, I'll start collecting dry wood for the still. One of us will have to stick by our Russian friend as well though. Unless she speaks any English?"

He turned to the prisoner, speaking slowly and deliberately in the hopes it would be relatively easy to comprehend. "Do you speak English? Or other languages?" He picked up a small branch. "Help us pickup firewood?"

Matthias stroked his stubbled chin as he considered the options given to him. "Not inclined to head back East into that hornet's nest. That's for sure." He frowned a moment before producing his map. Not once at his time at Fort Sam did he ever believe he would be responsible for command decisions "Not sure State side would be any better to be honest, but hard to believe it would be worse than here."

"This was the last given fallback position that was given to me." He jabbed a finger towards Kalisz in the southwest. "If we're looking to meet up with our brothers in the 5th, this is probably our best bet. Do we have a concrete idea of our fuel situation? How long do you think it would take to brew up enough juice to get us the 40 or so klicks? We'll also need a couple volunteers to reconnoitre the area. Would be good to get eyes on Turek to the Northwest as well."

Well, it hasn't been that long. Either way, expect a new episode tomorrow, as we see exactly how much abuse a BattleMaster can endure before its pilot has to punch out. Tip: It was a lot.

Our foray into Assault mechs was short-lived, eh?  :)

For the first time in recent memory, Dr. Marshal Matthias was not awoken by the sound of gunfire, shelling, or the shouting of his fellow soldiers pleading for a medic, but by the creeping sunlight of a sunny day. The last few days seemed like a godsend, no patrols and relative calm in the camp.

Marshal stretched slowly, rising from his impromptu napping spot in the Humvee. In the back of his mind he knew they weren't out of the woods yet, (literally) but he allowed himself to ease into the morning. Brewing a small pot of coffee he fixed himself a cup and poured the rest into a thermos. He closed his eyes and inhaled deeply the scent of the morning brew. He knew it would taste horrible, but he really didn't care.

He walked at a leisurely pace to a small gathering by a fallen log. He knew they were all tired, but there was a palpable sense of relief over the small reprieve they had given themselves.

"Colonel, Chief." he offered each a friendly nod, extending the thermos of coffee for anyone else to partake in. "I don't remember the last time I slept that well." He rubbed the back of his neck trying to work out a small kink. "I think we should probably have a discussion on where we want to go from here. It's quiet now, but it won't be forever. We also have to figure out what to do with our... 'guest'."

Yeah, I'd be super surprised if this game were anywhere close to 1 month away.
Not that I'd complain if it did show up.  8)

But HoI4 has been in development forever, and is looking like it won't arrive any sooner than Q2.

1) Updated my last post with equipment and stats. Saw there already was a fridge, but I figured one only for medical supplies might not be a bad idea.
2) Do we still need a still? Or maybe a bigger generator? Any sort of extra food stocks we need? big radio?
3) Sounds like fun to me!
4) my basic kit is m117 and m9 just in case :)

Oops I think I did cascade skills wrong. I mistakenly just spread out the points in between them (surgery/diagnosis/trauma) but you're supposed to pick one to specialize in, and the rest get half value.

So instead of spreading them out:

Medical (Diagnosis): 3
Medical (Trauma Aid): 4
Medical (Surgery): 4

It should probably be
Medical (Surgery): 10
Medical other (Diagnosis/Trauma Aid): 5

And my small arms should be
Small Arms (rifle): 4
Small Arms other (Pistol): 2
