Then where did I-

...Dafuq, brain?

PPE: Also, reminder-everryone needs to look after their own sheets because you will do it a lot better than I will.

Roll To Dodge / TURN 0-AND THEN THERE WERE SIX
« on: May 08, 2012, 04:03:27 pm »
Six people sit at the bar in the tavern known as the Sober Dwarf. Their names are Harbinger, the dog human thing, Sulfea, the elf who's accents were tossed into the ocean, Foxbeard, the kirsune who failed the spot check, Maxinim, the human who needs less booze right now, Axl, the goblin who is currently seated upon the bar itself for height, and Damien, the bog-standard adventurer.

Harbinger's dog-half comes in handy sometimes-he is rather Agile (+1 to anything agility-related, from ladder climbing to escaping giant fish maws), but some find his appearence and smell Offputting (-1 to social interaction).

Sulfea, being a SEA Elf, has a natural affinity with the sea, almost bordering on Waterbound (+1 to all rolls above or in the seas), but has left her little in the way of managing on solid flooring-perhaps she is Grounded (-1 to all rolls on dry land).

Foxbeard, sporting two tails, can actually be quite useful, and can probably get in an Extra Punch (Gets a free second attack in melee combat using tails). However, the tails, much like Harbinger's, are somewhat Offputting (-1 to social interaction).

Maxinim is a human. Thing is, humans are very bog standard and don't get bonuses.

Axl is a goblin, one of the good things about Goblins is that they are very Tech Savvy (+1 to any rolls involving mechanics). His size, however, means that he is extremely Weak (-1 to melee combat).

Damien is a bog-standard adventurer and so gets a bog-standard no-bonus-for-you treatment.

So the 6 are in the Sober Dwarf, when a smaller-than-usual dwarf walks in, hammer, nails and flier in hand. He nails the notice to the bar, much to the ignorance of the bartender, and leaves. The notice reads "Captain Urist McFoder is looking for new recruits to sail the world on the Good Ship Cannon. All interested should report to the doccks ASAP. Thank you."

What will the group do?

Roll To Dodge / Re: Mario Kart Grand Prix

I just realised I actually lost because of that last roll. I get one point, but I lose a coin and either pay up 3 more or have to forfeit any chance of getting a star, while Yoink will probably recover his losses from audience vote. Basically, I'm screwed.

...I call bullshit. Seriously, how many rolls have I actually made successfully? I demand to know which RNG you are praying to.

...Powerslide on inside. Again.

I'm sorry, my grammar nazi senses kicked in. Can you rewrite that with grammar, please?

Roll To Dodge / A Pirate's World ARRRRRRTD! [TURN 4]
« on: May 06, 2012, 04:21:29 pm »
Arrrrrr, me hearties! Welcome to A Pirate ARRRRRRRTD! Shiver me timbers and batton down the hatches! ...You want me to stop with the Pirate accent? Fiiiiiiine. In this game you play as a bunch of pirates. Your goal is to plunder the high seas and maybe get some sweet loot as well. You must work together to keep your ship afloat, taking quests and making profits along the way. Oh, and there may be explosions.

...You want backstory? Fine.

It's the 1700s in the fantasy universe and all of the races have decided to work reasonably well together to make massive cities across several continents. While most races are present in any city, the population tends to be skewered towards one race-the leader of the city tends to be of said race. Most of the cities rely heavily on naval trade to keep their supplies up, but where there's trade, there's piracy.

Well, not yet. There are a few odd pirates, but only one or two are known, and they tend to be the nes in the week's newspaper. Although you don't know it yet, it's your turn to take to the oceanic stage...

Everything in this game is resolved by the standard d6±modifier. However, to reduce GM strain, you need to look after your own stats. and such. I'll give you all the info you need, but make sure to post it with your actions please.

And with that, your sign-up sheet!

Name: (Be inventive. But not sttupid.)
Race: (You MAY get bonuses and/or penalties for your race. Be sensible though.)
Gender: (No bonus points for filling this bit in-do it anyway, though.)
Skills: (Leave blank, you'll need it later.)
Inventory: 5 Gold
Status: Drunk
Bio: (And now describe your character to me. Because this isn't FCFS, this will increase your odds of getting in.)

I need 6 will-be pirates, so... yeah. Fill dat sheet.

Fun fact: typing up rough ideas helps get the idea of an RTD in your head.

I'm off to start a Pirate RTD.

I improve the trench by sticking some vaguely pointy bits of rubble to the front.

Set up a small barricade. Nothing big, just about waist-high. Enough to duck behind while reloading.
