Update is on its way; I had some programming coursework to do as a priority today (due in on Monday; they recommend 50 hours on it but I shouldn't need more than 12 :D). With the Monday deadline, I'll have some more to do tomorrow and possibly Sunday as well, so if there are updates on those days they'll come late.

Ventilation has to be full corridors and not just crawlspaces, then? Well, then they can either go up several Z's or connect horizontally to the outside; we're gonna want to grate any opening that we're not using as an exit.

And fine, I can forge outside, but I'm still going to dig the dark pink area of DIGGING PLAN GAR-ALPHA. I need a space in the mountain where I can set up an office and make some drawings.

...nuuuuuuuuuuuu.
...fine, we'll have to dig some ventilation and put some grates in there. REQUEST AT LEAST 1 ROCK GRATE.
Will digging ventilation be as difficult as digging full Dwarven hallways and stuff?

4th idea, bellydance.

That's KOBOLD logic :D
In reality the nimble arrows fly more true because they're that bit lighter and I decided maybe they'd fly better because of that. :D

None of the arrows are actually feathered yet; the nimble arrows are just made out of more aerodynamic bones.

Naturally, since birds can fly, arrows made from their bones will fly better than arrows made from the bones of things that don't fly ;D

Just for those who haven't noticed it explicitly, it takes about a turn (3 hours) to get to any of the human features on the map (apart from the fort) and another turn to get back. You can generally do your activities in town during the time, but the trip each way still might throw some obstacles in your way, depending on the dice and the generosity of the encounter generator. :D

Kurtulmak:

You wake up about an hour later and vomit. You go to the river to wash your mouth out and drink some water, and you're soon feeling much better. You munch on a few berries to fill your stomach back up, and then go back to where you passed out. The two beak dogs are still out of it.

You take a couple of sticks and make small holes in them. Since one beak dog is already wearing the apron, you tie it firmly onto the beak dog through the holes in the sticks. You do this in two places, once where the apron ties around the beak dog's neck, and another place around its abdomen. In theory, you could sit back against the rear stick and hold onto the front one to ride the creature.
-1 large floral-embroidered apron
-2 decent sticks
+1 florak beak dog riding harness

-you are at the kobold cave-

Nreelrroi

You hold a fish to the little human. The fish is roughly the size of its forearm, and it takes it and shakes it around, giggling. You take a bite out of the fish, spit it into your hand and hold it to the pinky's mouth. It splutters and gets about half of it down its front, but it seems to enjoy the bits it eats.
-1 fish meal

You ask the creature about what humans usually do most of the time. It hits you with the fish and chuckles.

Schlakal:

You swap some arrows around take one of the new claw scimitars. It's very light, and its serrated edge looks vicious. You pick up Tiggi's new basket and take it with you as well, to help you carry. You head off into the forest to track venomous things.

The basket makes it hard to sneak around, so you keep putting it down, scouting ahead and then going back to get it again.

Every now and then you hear a hiss or see a flash of colour, and you're off. The snakes are small, but you quickly catch up with them and remove their heads with your new weapon. You can get the venom from them later.
+8 viper heads
+8 viper corpses

-you are at the kobold cave-

Ungbuktu:

You shape the clay again, into cylinders that fit nicely in your grip. This time, however, you line them up on the woodcutting rock so that they don't join to the ground, and you leave them in the Sun to dry.
+9 drying clay jars

You then claim the beautiful pink dress and cut it down to your size. You do a nice job, and you yourself probably would never have guessed it wasn't made just for you in the first place. You put it on and feel sure everyone will be impressed by how well it suits you.
-1 large, pink, frilly dress
+1 pink, frilly dress
+1 unit pink, frilly cloth

-you are at the kobold cave, in a dress-

Tiggi:

You take the black vest and put it on. It comes down just past your waist, and you love the way it flies out when you twirl.

You try all the different clothes on the baby. Nothing seems to fit it, but it still makes you smile seeing it in the different clothes. You settle for sticking something on its head which fits relatively nicely.

After all this changing of clothes and being handled, the human toddler cries a little, but you quickly place a chicken in its arms which clucks and is then rattled around by the child.

You take the blue shirt and fold the arms over, fixing them at the bottom edge of the shirt with two bone arrows. You fold the neck over and fix it closed with two more, and the result is something you can wear on your shoulders and carry stuff in.
-1 large, blue shirt
-4 shoddy bone arrows
+1 blue pack

-you are at the kobold cave-

Fuzz:

Once again you take the chitin and begin bashing it flat so it'll serve well as armour. Once again you have no problem. Taking the flat of your  hatchet and bashing it against pieces of flint, you are able to make small holes in the corners of the plates, where you can secure them with leather strips.
-2 units subtle chitin
-1 unit leather
+1 subtle chitin armour
+2 leather strips

Making a helmet of the chitin requires considerably less shaping, apart from where it sits around the snout. You make holes for eyes, and finish with a helmet that sticks up from the wearer's head like a cone, but is nonetheless very protective.
-1 unit subtle chitin
+1 subtle chitin helm

Finally, you gather together all the meat in the camp and begin salting it, working the salt hard into the meat. It takes a while, but you get it all done.
1/4 bag of white rock
-34 meat meals
+34 salted meat meals

Likesfighting:

You wrap your wound in a large leaf and set to training, careful not to overuse the wounded arm. You practice dodging, stabbing and blocking against a tree. The training is reassuring, but you don't feel like you've improved much in the time.
your wound is effectively healed

After a while, you see the chief practising too. He seems in high spirits, unaffected now by his earlier wound. It seems your contest will be tonight.

-you are at the kobold cave-
Make sure you read the text at the bottom!

Kweed''rik'tik:

You sit back a while, counting the thorns that came from your back and basking in the sunlight. Well, you felt like you were counting them, but you really just moved the from one pile to another. Your final count was:
+a bunch of unhygienic, bloody thorns taken from Kweed's back

After counting them, you forget about the injury on your back and get to training for your contest against Likesfighting. You practise swinging both of the clubs together, and with just one while you hold the other defensively. You feel awesome, and you're sure than anyone looking on at you is awed by your display of koboldly prowess.
your wound is effectively healed

Ichi:

You take the armour plates that Fuzz and Likesfighting bashed into shape before, and attach leather strips to fit them to your chief.
-2 subtle chitin armour plates
-2 leather strips
+1 large subtle chitin armour

Mid-Afternoon
~the duel for chief will happen tonight~

Kweed''rik'tik and Likesfighting, you are both fully ready for the contest. Please check your equipment on the front page and specify in your next post what you take with you or what you leave behind. You may well be fighting for your lives! You can post publicly or PM me this information, and any combat strategies you'd like to use.

Yeah, digging will take too long to wait for a whole fortress to be dug down deep. We'll have to move later on.

206
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
I'd like to reserve space to the right of c and b so we can expand the stockpiles and add smelters, kilns, etc. later on. If you built its entrance in line with E that'd be just fine, though.

Digging Plan Gar-Alpha has turned out to be a larger project than expected. Gar wakes up, sore but rested, eats with his puppy, and gets straight back to his project. The mining is much more enjoyable when others are around to sing with while the strikes fall, or talk to during a breather.

00-08: Sleep in tent.
08-09: Eat breakfast of whatever's going around.
09-12: Continue digging according to Digging Plan Gar-Alpha.
12-13: Lunch of Sandow stew and wine outside; share drinks and discussion with Tholtig.
13-18: Continue digging according to Digging Plan Gar-Alpha; this time joined by Tholtig.
18-19: Dinner; again with Tholtig - what a delight!
19-24: Continue digging according to Digging Plan Gar-Alpha.

Also: "The stone table can wait a while longer; this might take longer than I expected."

Ichi:

With Kurtulmak's recent shenanigans sure to have the townsfolk more alert, you decide that now isn't the ideal time to steal, and head off into the forest to collect sticks and stones.

You find one really nice stick that's thick, sturdy and about as tall as you. In addition, you fill up an armful of rocks about the size of your fist.
+1 staff stick
+5 stones

You had back to the camp and take a few moments to rest.

-you are at the kobold cave-

Fuzz:

You gather together all of the animal bones in the camp and start whittling away at them with your sharp rock, creating arrows and other weaponry. You find that the eagle bones make the lightest, finest arrows. You waste none of those, but some of the baboon and cougar bones are too brittle and are lost. The largest of the cougar bones make fine stabby tools.
-7 giant eagle bones
+7 nimble giant eagle bone arrows
-14 cougar bones
+3 cougar bone daggers
+10 cougar bone arrows
-22 baboon bones
+17 baboon bone arrows
Fuzz gained a level in crafter!

You then take the mantis-man's claws and set about fitting a handle to them. They already seem to be quite dangerous.
-2 mantis-man claws
-2 leather strips
+2 mantis-man claw scimitars

-you are at the kobold cave-

Kweed''rik'tik:

You call for "HALP" and Nreelrroi comes to aid you. You hold still as she picks out the thorns one by one from your back and washes the wound, and you help her hold the cloth in place as she bandages you.
your wound now only affects you as a minor wound

-you are at the kobold cave-

Nreelrroi:

Your chief demands "HALP", and you are not one to deny the demands of your mighty chief. It takes quite a while to pick all the thorns from his huge back (and he managed to get quite a few thorns in there), and quite a bit of cloth to bandage him up.
-4 rough cloth strips

-you are at the kobold cave-

Likesfighting:

You take the bush disguise tunic Ungbuktu made. It doesn't fit you perfectly, and your legs stick out of the bottom, but it'll help make up for some of your ineptitude at sneaking. The chitin armour plates aren't currently in any state to be worn, as there's nothing to hold them to your body.

You follow the river out, wanting to outdo the chief's hunt. You jab at the reeds absent-mindedly as you keep an eye out for prey. You hear a hiss and an alligator lunges at your legs, but you jump back in time and start jabbing at it with your spear. Your aim is true, but the alligator's hide is too thick, and your spear is deflected harmlessly. The pair of you repeat the dance, back and forth, several times, until you get a good jab in its eye. With a low, rumbling hiss, it retreats into the water and disappears.

You take the long way back to the cave, and stumble out of some underbrush into the midst of a pack of five hyenas. You quickly try to look as bushlike as possible, but they clearly see straight through your ruse and you have no choice but to fight.

As they charge at you, you jab one in the flank. You raise your shield to one side as hyenas come flying at you, and fend them off with your spear on the other. One of them gets around your defenses and bites your shield arm, getting a good grip and trying to drag you over.

Another comes in again, but you stab it with your spear and the weapon strikes deep into its belly. You twist the weapon and pull it out, and the hyena staggers back dizzily. The pack comes in at you again, but once again you keep them at bay, and the handle of the shield stays firm.

You shake the hyena off your arm and jab it in the throat. Blood bubbles up and the hyena stops attacking, standing firmly on all fours and putting great effort into breathing.

The other four hyenas go yelping away. The remaining one is now lying on the floor, unable to breathe in a puddle of its own blood. You run it through and drag it back to camp.
+1 hyena corpse
minor wound, offhand

-you are at the kobold cave-

Ungbuktu:

You start arranging the giant eagle's feathers and beak around a strip of cloth laid out in front of you. Once you find a suitably impressive arrangement, you start poking the feathers through the cloth, and finally attach the beak. The result is an impressive headress, which you fix with another strip of cloth to attach it firmly to one's head.
-1 giant eagle beak
-16 giant eagle feathers
-2 rough cloth strips
+1 giant eagle headdress

You think about cutting the chitin to make a sharp, serrated edge, but you can't think of a way to cut it apart finely enough not to lose the edge.

You have another go at shaping the mud by the river, this time getting it to stay in shape. You test one out and it successfuly holds liquids. When you pick it up, however, it deforms, and you only end up showing your own hands who is the boss.
+5 mud toilet-pots attached to the ground

-you are at river by the kobold cave-

Schlakal:

You breeze effortlessly into the town, walking in plain sight but totally unseen. You notice a human carrying another, smaller, pinker human. You trip the larger human over in a particularly muddy spot; by the time she's back up with her eyes clear of mud, you and her child are gone.

The ride back is uneventful, although you can only hold onto the pony with your legs because you have to stop the human from falling off. The human seems distracted by the pony and continually makes sounds of delight whenever the pony turns its head slightly.

You return to the cave, where the child is fascinated by grabbing the chickens by their tails.
+1 male human toddler (will need to be looked after)
+1 set of tiny human clothes

-you are at the kobold cave-

Kurtulmak:

You begin gathering up some vines and leaves, swigging from one of the bottles as you go.

...

You don't quite remember the details, but you return to the cave along with the two beak dogs. All three of you are stumbling and blurry-eyed,  and one of the glass bottles is empty. One beak dog is wearing a large floral apron, the other your loin cloth. You're wearing only leaves and vines. As a group, you decide it's time to lie down. At least, you decide it's time to lie down, and the beak dogs collapse easily when you lean on them.

-you are lying down in the open in the middle of the day with two drunken dinosaurs in odd attire at the kobold cave-

Tiggi:

You came here for clothes, and clothes are what you'll get! You scout around the outside of the town, looking for clotheslines, but you notice a lady leaving the town with a rather large basket of clothes.

You follow her out of the town and to a pond, where she kneels over the water and starts washing a set of robes. She seems quite focussed on one particular stain, so you leave her to it. When she's finally finished with it, you're sure she'll be glad to find out she's not got any more washing left to do!
+1 big basket of human clothes
Tiggi has gained a level in sneaker!

You carry the basket back to the camp on your head; no creatures impede your journey.

When you arrive back, you take time to inspect your spoils. You're impressed by the human's generosity - some of these things would even fit normal-sized kobolds!
+1 big woven basket
+1 green woolen robe (2 units)
+1 pair plain pants (1 unit)
+1 plain shirt (1 unit)
+4 sets undergarments (1 unit altogether)
+1 large, pink, frilly dress (3 units)
+1 large, plain robe (3 units)
+1 large, blue skirt (2 units)
+1 large, blue shirt (2 units)
+1 pair large, red pants (2 units)
+1 large, black vest (1 unit)
+6 sets large undergarments (2 units altogether)

To be honest, I don't feel comfortable with Litast being the decision regarding positions of power, although picking a second-in-command who only steps in when she's unavailable is fine. We don't want all of the government to be one group of friends, do we? :D
