darkpaladin109: You mean 4-6, right?

197

"I'm on it! I'll heal you first, though."
With all haste, Arnold moves to (5,7) and heals Gregory.

Re: Death Counters: "We're sorry we got your character killed because we were putting off healing him to maybe save some staff quality." is obviously not a great situation to be in. Anyway, I'll have Arnold start jogging toward Siegfried and Gregory now.

Edit: Sorry, Criptfiend. I'm experiencing some Siegfried-centric tunnel vision.

199

"Don't mention it. I need the practice as much as you do."

200
Or just all charge. What could possibly go wrong? (The answer is nothing really)
We're probably overthinking this horribly. Siegfried's surprise KO rattled us a bit, I suppose. I'm feeling a bit more confident today, so if darkpaladin109 and/or Criptfiend want to simply walk up to Oskar and bash him, I think that's fine. I'll be waiting for their actions, then either heal one of them or move closer to Siegfried.

201
Or, do a mix, I move up, then move back if I miss a counter in time for you to go heal Seig, then heal me next turn and I go back in.
That's what I'm talking about in my reply to Swordstar, so yes, that would probably work. Our soldier duo won't have anything useful to do, but perhaps they'll be willing to kick back and watch the ocean while Gregory does his zlorching little dance routine. This is how a Reich trooper fights!

202
Also right, I asked Haspen earlier if Oskar moves, and he confirmed that Oskar does not move.
That's a little strange, but alright. Oskar must be a very stoic dude.

Only point I have is I agree with the plan that doesn't waste vulns cause there's no real reason to waste vulns on a pretty easy map like this
Yeah. It's been my distinct impression that vulns should be conserved. If we go with "Gung-ho Gregory", but Gregory misses his counters, then I should still be able to dive in to save Siegfried, so that plan is not necessarily any worse in that particular regard, FWIW.

203
That's nice and simple, of course. I'm just wary of risking a double KO before we know how Oskar behaves. Although I won't order anyone around, I'd like to hear from Haspen (about Gregory's AS) and the other two players before I endorse the "Gung-ho Gregory" strategy.

204
Drat. (Thanks for the info, Gig.) It's not critical to my plan, though. Would you like to try that one as is, modify it or go with one of the other two?

205
Your AS is shrouded in mystery. To confirm my understanding of it, I checked your EVA in the same charsheet. The formula is supposed to be (EVA = 2*AS + LCK). Your LCK is 2, and your EVA is given as 3, indicating that for the purpose of calculating EVA, your AS is 1/2. That's still not 4 less than Oskar's, but some clarification from Haspen would be nice to have.

Edit: A potentially very stupid question. Can Arnold use his staff to heal himself? (No.)

Edit 2: Here's a plan (a kind of hybrid of darkpaladin109's and Criptfiend's) that brings back Siegfried next turn, keeps all vulns for emergencies and hopefully avoids a long slog. At least the first steps, up to and including Arnold healing Siegfried, can be carried out without knowing how mobile Oskar is, or whether he can double Gregory. What do you think?

Code: (Mopsy's Hybrid Oskar-beating Plan) [Select]
--- Turn 5 ---
Friderick moves to [7,7], trying to draw Oskar's aggro. (This will trigger his PF but he can tank that javelin no prob anyway.)
Arnold moves to [7,8], ready to reach Siegfried next turn.
Gregory moves out of Oskar's range, [7,10] seems like a good choice.

Oskar does something, maybe. Hopefully he doesn't hit Arnold. Or crit again...

--- Turn 6 ---
Arnold moves to [7,6] or [8,5] and heals Siegfried, bringing him to at least 7 HP (Oskar-proof).

--- From then onwards ---
Friderick and Siegfried tank passively, hopefully keeping Oskar busy and contained.
Gregory zlorches Oskar whenever possible.
Arnold heals Friderick or Siegfried if necessary, otherwise he heals Gregory.
In case of an emergency, anyone can chip in with vulns.

NOTE: Arnold can take one hit from Oskar without falling, and is immune to crits, so he won't get KO'ed out of the blue.

206
I must admit that I failed to realize that Oskar can counter Gregory. I don't think he can actually double him, though. The handbook says "If your AS is greater by 4 or more, you will score two hits" and with Oskar's AS at 4 and Gregory's at 1 (the formula works out to zero, but the way Haspen wrote the charsheet seems to indicate that AS cannot actually go below 1), it seems that we're narrowly avoiding that. I'll check a few facts and then I'll get back to you about plans, OK?

207

"Please get knocked out where I can reach you."

208

"Affirmative."
Move to 4,9. Heal Friderick.

209

"I'm sure they do. You're handling these blows remarkably well, actually."
Move to 6,9 and heal Siegfried.

210

"Thank you, Friderick. I'll try to help the other axe victim."
Move to 7,10, heal Siegfried.
