Making a roller system for a stone door that both survives use and can be opened by a single person warrants the use of fittings >_>

557
You can also fit three containers on a pack animal, so you could put some on the three mules and the horse if you wanted to. It'll take two yards of rope to secure each container, unless it's a backpack.

Regarding fittings, each type has a different role.

Metal fittings need to be extremely strong, durable and compact. Nails, hinges and braces.

Wooden fittings need to be cheap and light. Like frames, handles, and weapon shafts.

Soft fittings are stretchy, flexible or padded. Like a harness on armour to make it wearable, or the grip of a weapon.

If you don't have them available, then it's a bit harder. The design has to be reworked to make it hold together, so even if it technically works, the balance on the all-metal sword is going to be terrible, and the door without hinges or latch is going to be a pain to operate.

General Discussion / Re: The Space Thread

I don't know if you know, but that also includes things like shields and FTL.

I also doubt that space warfare will be governed by balancing to ensure as fun an experience as possible by all factions and tech paths.

Interestingly enough, you might have noticed that mining and woodcutting isn't always 1:1. There's the chance of getting nothing, which means the target rock or wood has been reduced to splinters or rubble, but you can also get multiples. So far you've gotten two and maybe even three at a time from the resource, mostly mining.

Processing the raw material into a beam or block also has a chance to multiply it, so in addition to making the manufacturing process faster and higher quality it economises materials.

I'm just noting down the size-system, and I've made some slight changes. Medium construction materials like blocks and beams are produced roughly three-at-a-time from the Large log or boulder, and you need three to block and build up a square. I just can't reconcile a single arm-held piece of stone being able to block up an entire corridor.

Thus I am also retroactively adjusting the numbers of blocks and beams, so ultimately you will produce and consume more at a time.

Weird, a Giant is actually Colossal.

The statue is made of two pieces of stone, and they have to be held together by bolts. Attempting to carve the statue out of one large piece would be very difficult due to the stresses and internal faults in the structure.

You can still craft without fittings, but it would be quite crude.

I suppose that I will stay in the South, and devour Aszmecticol of the Southern Waters until there is only one of us left.

562
Dwarves have very, very little knowledge on boating or shipwrightery and are physically unsuitable for swimming. I would strongly suggest not attempting to join the life aquatic.

563
Humans are two weeks to the north, Elves are one week to the east.

564
It's getting warmer and soon the snow cover will be gone completely, allowing plants to grow and animals to forage. The river will be melted, so fishing can start up.

565
The nearest human settlements would be a bunch of scattered fishing villages on Skaldivon, similar to the one you bought supplies from. They wouldn't be willing to help you on credit, so you would have to pay them. It would also take about two weeks to get to them.

Other Games / Re: Why does Hitman: Blood Money have to be so bad :|

The final ending is as awesome as it is cruel.

Elves typically prefer warmer climes, but they enjoy isolation even more. The forests due-east of the Cliffs near Skaldivon are rumoured to contain a few settlements of them. According to Adil's crazy uncle, anyway.

Although this end of the world is crawling with goblin empires, ogre tribes and all manner of unpleasant beasts, the rumoured magical disturbances in the forest known colloquially as 'Warped' keeps them away. Instead the armies march past it to the north, hoping to plunder the rich kingdoms of Dwarves and Humans.

It would take at least a week to travel there by foot. What happens once you get there, well, that's a mystery.

I think that they misunderestimate the intelligence of the average person.

Remember when we talked about Atheism? That was fun. I'm missing it so hard right now.

I would advise slaughtering the 3 Mules, as they would have a lot of meat on them.
