Also, does the AI request military access as necessary to their wars? More than once now I had to ask for access to a few countries and singlehandedly occupy some of our enemies' ally in some obscure corner of Europe simply because the AI wouldn't do anything against them and occupying the countries the AI had access to didn't grant enough warscore for their objectives.

They actually tend to request access much more than they need too. Access doesn't cost a relation slot for computers (unless its been changed) and they just get access with pretty much everyone on the same continent as their enemy. What you likely saw was that the AI needed to walk through the territory of someone who hates them, so they couldn't get access.

I wonder if it's possible to make a shinto HRE...

since recently you can only be in the hre if you're christian or protestant

paradox is completely shit at their rebalancing

Unless you mean catholic, that's been around for awhile. There's a reason why Orthodox Ottomans were a thing for so long.

You sure? What if you vassalized and forced religion change on all the HRE electors as Japan?

Vassalizing them doesn't guarantee they vote for you, it just gives a large + in the vote. In this case you would still be stopped by the -1000 for being an invalid religion.
I vaguely remember there being a glitch that allowed you to become non-Christian emperor, I think it required you to murder all nations of a valid religion or something. Hell if I know if its still around.

Ok, it's confirmed, my AI is teleporting units. I literally just watched a stack of 2 guys appear. No fog of war nearby, spawned on one of their already captured provinces.

They were Ethiopia and the only reasonable conclusion other than blatant cheating that I can come up with is that they have an event that lets them auto spawn some units. But I've never heard of an event that only spawns 2 units and don't know if they can spawn on a captured province.

There is an event that can give you (or the AI) a couple free regiments on an owned but occupied piece of territory.

Also, while it doesn't sound like it fits any of these scenarios, you can recruit troops on occupied enemy territory.

Nonnak can be surprisingly difficult in melee, I've had a fair few characters who had an easier time with Griff in melee than Nonnak. Though stopping by the pyramid and grabbing the mummy wraps for cold immunity helps a fair bit.

Don't forget zombie scientists and operators - you can butcher them for bionics too. I think broken cyborgs only yield power supplies?

Mostly broken cyborgs only give burnt bionics - they only drop power storages occasionally.

The parts still take damage, they just take less damage with armor plating on.

yarp, definitely a tank bot or a chicken walker. If it was one explosion it was a tank bot, if multiple, chicken walker.

It has to be built on a shallow pit, did you build that yet?

While the guidebook is quite nice, it hasn't been updated since before the resurrection project (unless I missed something), so it is horrifically outdated. Cross reference any information you get from it with the wiki. (http://ancardia.wikia.com/wiki/ADOM_Wiki)

So, how do people deal with the Cat Lord nowadays? I've had a few promising games recently but they've all come to a swift end when they faced the Cat Lord. Used ta' be you could just chuck a couple blind/confuse potions at him but now that he's resistant to that I'm kinda at a loss of what to do.

If you can't find the majority of the map, (s)earch the walls until you find a hidden door.
If I remember correctly, you can kick the walls; hidden doors will give a different message. Or was that in Nethack? Give it a try anyhow :D

Both of these work, thou don't try kicking them if you have less than 3 PV 'cause then you might kill yourself.

Drain em all! Drain em Dry!

In all seriousness if I find a pool sufficiently early, I will drain it dry. My thought process is that most of the effects of pools is to add or remove a intrinsic, so if you drink them when you don't have any, thats like 75% of the bad effects you can't roll, N' tons of good effects that you can. Pretty much the only bad things you can roll with this method are water elemental spawns (which will probably kill you), or to get cursed, which isn't too bad as long as you stop drinking then. On the other hand, I probably get an early wish from this method in 'bout 75% of my games or so.

Quoth the Wiki

Quote
Difficulty = Adjusted Skill / (4 * Bionic Difficulty)
Adjusted Skill = Skill - min(40, Skill - Skill / 10)
Skill = Intelligence * 4 + Electronics * 4 + First Aid * 3 + Mechanics

(Though of course, this could be outdated.)

Oh, you mean the Medical mutation tree? Yeah, I've heard that one makes you basically unkillable (though I'm sure Tank Drones would have something to say about that).

Your right, my medical mutant a while back was ultimately killed in a single turn by a chicken walker. N' they aren't as bad as tank drones, as at least I've once or twice survived a shot from them.
Though unkillable is bit of an exaggeration, n' things with guns aren't terribly impressed by medical mutants 'cause they don't actually get much that makes them tougher damage wise (other than a very nice +50% hp). Most of their mutations focus on making all other negative effects irrelevant.

Well, zero is definitely not six. ;)

I have the vision distortion malfunctioning CBM.  It doesn't seem to do anything, except that it occasionally gives me a message that my vision is pixelated, so I guess I was lucky.

Is there an easy/safe way to remove it?  Otherwise I'll just keep it in, rather than taking chances.

Are you using ASCII? That CBM is supposed to cause the same "blinking" visual effect that schizophrenia does, but I would not be surprised if it didn't work with alternate tile-sets. Ofc, it still doesn't really have an effect on game play if it did work.

Also, if you're gunna try and remove it, be fully healed!
