You could give some creature a huge damblock, try not to exaggerate with size as it adds damage too and makes the creature immune to atom smashers.

Cloth is pretty much hardcoded, the only thing you can mod about cloth is giving a creature silk or making a plant thread-processable, that qould create a new type of cloth with different $ value but the same defense value.

Well, in game granite is pure black, granite hatches are black squares, granite doors too, You can't even see the graphics (I play with mayday's tileset).

Also, we should know what mods you are using. Dwarf Fortress simulates quite well the butterfly effect, as if a single ore is changed from vein to cluster, the same seed will give different results.

The arena approach would be more feasible with a bronze colossus, the titan is pretty much a weak colossus (I know he has no [SEVERONBREAKS], but if you are a lonely megabeast and you get a broken arm you are unlikely to heal it anyway).

I fight a dwarf child with a new modded creature; the child in one single combat turn lopped off 3 of my limbs and crushed me into a tree.

Turns out that i my attempt to mod a monster with huge damblock and speed, but I forgot that speed works reverse, and made the damblock so high it overflowed into some negative number.

I guess you can use the GCS silk farm approach, putting a pet-impassable but not forbidden door, so that the imp can path to the enemy but cannot reach him.

If it freezes. Else, you could just use pumps in an attempt to keep the area dry for enough for your masons to build. Or MAGMA of course.

If you remove the hands, they will grab it with something else.
I recall a thread of someone having a champion not dropping an artifact crossbow, he removed his hands and the champion was holding the crossbow with his lower body.
You have to remove their brain (so they get uncouncious).
You will get a couple pages of "Urist McDwarf cancel whatever: too injured" but only that.

If he is not uncouncious, he WILL move on his own, just at a very slow speed (he got a broken leg). O duty soldiers do get thirsty, and only go to drink when the thirst is unbearable IIRC. You better put him off cuty and hope for him to reach the bed/booze stockpile before dying of thirst.

Yeah, once I watched one of my nobles fall into a magma pipe, and using single step (.) i noticed it took him 4 steps each z-level, and only died when he reached he magma flow.
