Watch it again! Its the best. I think I've watched it 3 or 4 times now.

I think I've watched it about 3 times, but it's been a while! I just don't have the free time to do it straight through in a reasonable time right now, and I think that's more fun with FLCL than spreading it out!

I'm starting to have an urge to rewatch FLCL. I'm trying to fight it, but I think it's going to win. Although it's interesting how with every viewing, you can start to understand the plot just a little bit more.

The writing in Charlotte is really weird. Although I'm just wondering about the reasoning behind the name.

I've been wondering that, too. It's such a weird name, and I feel like there's going to have to be some kind of explanation at some point...but with only 3 episodes left, maybe there won't be. I'm really having trouble seeing how they are going to wrap this up. The pacing is just...really weird. And I can't help but compare it to Angel Beats, especially the use of music. The songs in Charlotte just aren't used as well and aren't nearly as emotional as they managed in Angel Beats (except maybe the one song -spoiler you know what I'm talking about-).

Spoiler: Minor Spoilers (click to show/hide)

I wouldn't classify it as a masterpiece, but it's still good, and I'm looking forward to see how it all ends.

Catching up on the two latest episodes of Charlotte. This show...I'm not sure they could fit many more clichés in here if they wanted to. Not that it's bad, just something I noticed.

Spoiler: Charlotte ep. 9 + 10 (click to show/hide)

I'm sick! But even so, I took a shower and feel much better, and all my suitemates are gone for most of the night, so now I can sit alone and watch Netflix. It's the best way to be sick.

I was homeschooled from 5th-8th grade, and I think that it was a pretty good thing...academically. (I always do pretty fantastic on standardized tests, even if I don't study too hard, which has been a boon.) Socially and relationship with my family-wise, though, it was horrible. My mom and I have always had a ton of issues, compounded by being at home all the time. I was suicidal for a period during middle school due to some severe depression (both because of a ton of intense animosity between my mom and I and struggling with the whole gay thing) that I never really told anyone about.

Transition-wise, I did pretty well for the first half of my freshman year. Then we moved across the country, and it took me like a year to start to actually make friends.

I don't know, I feel like there is a way that homeschooling can be done right, and it's not as if there aren't issues with the current public school system as it is...however, I think that it's very easy to mess up, especially since the kind of parents who would want to home-school are usually the kind of parents that are strict to an extreme.

I'd be interested in a spin-off thread about homeschooling if anyone would like to extricate that (or I can if others want to further discuss).

Yeah, I'd say that (as we saw in that poll someone did a while back), fanservice isn't necessarily bad, and can add a bit of spice to a story. On the other hand shows that are built around fanservice as a selling point (and are usually the ones marked "ecchi" from what I've seen, the others often aren't necessarily marked as that) are really something you should probably only be watching if that's what you are looking for.

Which isn't to say that they can't be mainstream popular, look at what happened with 50 shades of grey after all. :P

I make an exception for High School of the Dead...just because it's so good. It just could have been so much better without the "boing" sound effects :(

I also legitimately can't do the homework because she not only assigns it in German, but she uses German abbreviations that I don't understand. I thought I knew how to do at least part of it, but there are only up to exercise 49....when she's assigned #50. Like I try super hard to keep my grades up but this is making it really hard.
You know, I'll gladly help, being a native speaker and all. Maybe I can figure out those abbreviations, it's worth a try.

I figured it out just now! And it wasn't my fault, she just didn't set up the online textbook homework site right so it was a huge pain to get to. I may harass you in the future though :P its going to be a rough semester :/

I'm sitting in an empty hallway waiting for class to start in a couple hours, and I hear someone crying from an office. Apparently she got pushed off of her bike by some random person this morning, hit her head, was actively in pain, and still made it here to tell a professor in person that she couldn't make her appointment this afternoon. That's dedication.

I'm taking the second level of a language course that I placed into after a university pre-test.

I also legitimately can't do the homework because she not only assigns it in German, but she uses German abbreviations that I don't understand. I thought I knew how to do at least part of it, but there are only up to exercise 49....when she's assigned #50. Like I try super hard to keep my grades up but this is making it really hard.

The only boon is that I'm pretty sure I'm the least confused in the class...the first like week or so there were people who didn't even know they were supposed to be doing homework out of the textbook. She teaches the grammar in German, too, which is just like...painful. I barely know what an accusative or dative case sentence is when it's being explained to me in my native tongue.

Oh well. As long as I can get a C, I'll be done forever. I'll be really disappointed and stressed the whole semester but it could be worse.

I stubbed my thumb moving an ironing board and it is bleeding from under the nail. My life is a joke.

Aaah! A vault's guard harasses me! Is he tough? What am I supposed to do after having stolen money from a vault?
I wouldn't try to fight him. If you do as he asks, he'll lead you out of the vault and leave you be. If you drop your gold you can leave. If you lie to him and say your name is "Croesus", he will disappear (but won't lead you out of the vault, so you need to find a way out yourself.)

Just a minor issue, do I put the corpse on an altar if I want to make a sacrifice?

Yup. Put corpse on altar, #offer. It just can't be too old.

However, If your wand of digging doesn't work...

Every wand has at least one charge left in it. It may take 200 or so zaps (1/121 chance each try), but if you have the wand you can always wrestle one last charge out before it crumbles into dust.

lol I tried to dig under myself by pressing '.'. Maybe I'm not hopeless and it will work out now. But which floor tile should I make a hole in? Does the choice depend on what type was the previous level of? I believe it was 3b. And are you sure the right key is the '<' one, not '>'? Or maybe you meant ',' (it's what you type if you want to eat a corpse occupying on the tile where you are on)?

By the way, I've got a wand of enlightenment with myself and it revealed to me that a) I am unlucky and b) I can't pray safely (I'm also poison and fire resistant and have spell reflection, cool). What does the later mean? I remember not having invoked for a period of more than 1k turns.

It's '>' for down.

And you may have angered your god to the point where you can't pray. You can solve that by standing on an altar and sacrificing corpses until your god doesn't hate you any more (no "you feel inadequate" when sacrificing should mean you are fine now.)
