Well I'm offically done with Katawa Shoujo now. Which means I can now put full attention of Suika Fortress. So do expect updates to start rolling in very soon!

Not to sure I'll get this done before the release of the new Dwarf Fortress though. Lots of testing has to be done after I do the sprites.

Also you did pretty good this time Ulr1mara. Thought you still stumbled with your pronouncing, it's alot better compared to where you were before hand. So I approve of you work thus far and look forward to seeing how this LP plays out. ^^

I think based on what I read.... tomorrow is suppose to be when the Poland Parliament signs up to join ACTA.

Meaning Poland will be part of the ACTA treaty along with the others who signed. It's not the activation of ACTA yet.

That requires the European Parliament to Green light.

Also while I'm at it. I'm going to post this again since this will is on a more relevant thread on the subject matter.

There are some thing people have uncovered about ACTA that proves that on it's own. It's power is limited. However if bills like SOPA and PIPA are passed then ACTA becomes dangerous! So here let me post this here for you to read.

More or less, internet copyright censorship battles are far from over. Since our governments will try to put bills on the table to pass so they can apply ACTA to it.

So in other words even if ACTA is enforced, what needs to happen is that legilations that center around internet censorship (like SOPA and PIPA) shouldn't pass unless you want the internet to monitor your action based on the legislation.

Anyways, almost done with KS need to do Lilly's route (gonna take approximately 2-3 days) Still have to write a review (another day or 2), then I'll jump back into getting to work on Suika Fortress.

Plans will be as follow:

First, finish the PC-98 yukurri designs and then work on thier behaviors. Depending on when this is completed, I will release the 0.31.25 version regardless even if release 1 is out.

Following that I will study release 1 and transfer everything over to it as well as work on all the new animals that are being thrown in and then work on releasing that version.

Then finally work on using the new features to implment some new Touhou and creatures that'll make up part of the list. I can tell this will be a time comsuming process, but it'll be an important step.

So yeah I apologize for side stepping my work on this. But we know everyone needs a brake sometime. I should definetly be back to working full force once I'm done with KS within the next few days.

Would it be possible to use a special type of yukkuris as siege ammunition? Good times would be had.

Very interesting thought. I'd have to look into this though. Currently I know corpses can't be used as siege ammo.

The only things that can be used as siege ammo is ballistic arrows and rocks for catapults. I'll have to also look to see if this is even possible as well to make a corpse drop occur of this type.

Course there is also a biggest question of all. What kind of yukkuri would even work as siege ammo? Cause so far it's kinda hard to think of any that really would thanks to their "somewhat squishy texture"

So yeah, not to sure on that one, but I will look into it probably after the next two updates I have planned in the to do list.

Sorry for the lack of discussion things have been happening lately. And currently I'm still have Suika Fortress on my to do list. I just been side tracked with another project.

To be honest, it's a visual novel that recently came out that was inspired by a single page by a Japanese artist, but created by an English fan base. And yes I'm talking about Katawa Shoujo.Very unique and inspirational if you ask me. I go into more details about it, but am thinking of starting a thread on it in the bay 12 section later.

Anyways, my plans are to start getting back to work on the PC-98 yukkuris after I finish Katawa Shoujo (give me about 8-10 days.)

I know I kinda disappeared a bit die to this, but it's kinda expected when I'm trying to seek playing something or seeking inspiration.

And yes well aware the release to the new DF is coming out soon. Could be anytime between a few days till sometime early next month.

I don't know if I'll get the update done on time, but I will try to push to get it done ASAP.

But I will say once I get the update done and the new release is out and I get a chance to fiddle with it. I look forward to adding in some of the additional Touhou characters I mentioned earlier.

Lol it can happen to the best of us. XD Though he did make clear yesterday was dedicated to crayon art and new years bashin' so I anticipate the today's update will be the bay12 January report. And hopefully we'll get a closely predicted timeframe of the release. (which I'm 90% certain it'll be this month)

Anyways, sorry for the delay fokes, stuff happens as usual.

Here's what's up. I recently asked for the MotK  group to see if they would be interested in coming up with some music for Suika Fortress. Not much responds has been made ATM. So it looks like this will be a waiting game for now to see if new music will be added into Suika Fortress over time.... only time will tell here...

In the mean time, I do have some of the sprites done on the charaters from game 1 and 2 (minus Kongarra and Sariel)


It's going to take some time, but I'm really hoping I can get the mod launched before Caravan Arc 1 is released. And it drawing closer now (since Toady's about half way through the "list")

I still have charaters from games 3-5 to cover. 3 and 4 will likely be the most time consuming while 5 should be quicker. Then there's still the non-humanoid entries like Evil eye Sigma, ect. The following that will be some animals (which some will be easy to do.)

Hopfully once that is done, then a simple arena test is all I'll need then I shall launch the update. Then it'll be preparation time for Caravan Arc 1.

Regarding Caravan Arc 1

With Toady's release of the interaction codes for the zombies, werewolves, vampires and the like. There is a VERY GOOD chance that Remillia, Flandre, Keine, Yoshika, Yuyuko, Seiga and Orin will make the cut. It's a matter of how this feature is executed once the release is out. I'm really hoping they can have thier own special sprites. Cause it would make it worth while.

But yes, the interaction codes seem to make these charater behave almost the way I want them too. But until this is released and we see the action take place. It's still up in the air.

In the mean time, I will be busy trying to get them prepared so that they can stand up to being a serious threat and fit thier roles accordingly.

Gah, so many projects side tracking me. I haven't had time yet to discuss things with the MotK group about seeing if anyone from the forum could compose music for this. But in the mean time I will go ahead and discuss about my yukkuri report.

Like I said before I was busy looking for flavors for most of the charters, and as of this point I think I got most of them. So I composed a list of the yukkruis that'll be included for the PC-98 update.

That should cover them all. Other creatures that are non yukkuri I plan to include as megabeast are Yuggenmagen which will mainly be eyes with an "energy core" (I know some say it's might be a human entity in that center but it just doesn't seem like that to me.)

And Evil Eye Sigma which should be fun to put together since it'll be a large eye with wings, tentacles and a steel based body. FUN

So from this list this means I'm making 30 more yukkuri and 2 more extra creatures ATM. wow talk about going to be busy.

I guess that covers the bases. So if there are any questions or thoughts. Feel free to speak about them now. Cause I want to try to wrap this up before Release 1 comes out. Which looks like it could very well happen this month from the looks of it.

Ok I've been doing some thinking on this for a bit and decided to sit down and discuss about this as a possible idea...

I've been looking at some of the other mods (Deon to be percise) and sort of gave this some thought.

I'm want to know from all you Touhou fans out there is if you all think it would be a good idea to actually use different music than what  is commonly used in the game. Sure the music in DF is good, but what if I put in something more Touhou-esque.

I was shown some nice Ehru music remix of Broken which I think might be suitable for the starting screen. :P But I wanted to get your feedback too it.

Second is an important question. If we agree with this. What route should we go with it. Get remixes and give credit to said artist? Or come up with something more orginal. I already know ZUN says no to the use of him music on most cases (mainly for selling) but other than that well I want to make sure I do the right thing when putting music in the game to avoid any problems.

So any feedback on this would be nice. And remember this is only being considered ATM. So it may or may not happen.

Also feedback reports that U1tramara is going to do my Suika Fortress mod for his next LP. So I'm very excited!

Ellykuris should be filled with rotten applesauce. Harharhar.

Yumeko should be easy though. Copy over the raws for Sakuya, make a few adjustments, done.

Shingyoku could be interesting in that they may or may not have different sprites depending on gender.



I just checked the image files and was all WHOA I MUST GET A DRAWING TABLET SO I CAN DRAW A SUIKA WITH A MONOCLE.


And now I am oh wait no that's no Suika that's Akius Ikubi.

Elly makes sense in reference to her song and of course the video that was spread like wild fire a year or 2 ago....

Yeah Yumeko will be a bit like Sakuya with a few small exceptions...you'll see....

As for Shingyoku, that's one of the few charater I'm subject for debate. Experiments show I can't change the sprites of different castes types since they still use the main tag. So I may actually put that charater on hold till Release 1 is out....

Also yeah guess you got the Walfas reference form the Suika Mayor. That's where the idea for the mayor sprite derived from.

Edit:Also i am assuming that Cirno and Letty only spawn in freezing conditions

Well making the two yukkuris get along shouldn't be a problem (as in not fighting each other) It's symbiotic bonds I'm not too sure of. They'll probably do fine though.

As for Letty and Cirno yukkuris, yes they should only appear in cold area. Cirno definetly since she's sort of the mock up of the iceman. Letty yukkuris took over the Yeti position. So I'm not too sure on that one, but there is a fun little twist regarding them if you ever confront one. (Hint: Don't get near it if you can help it)

Right now a few of the yukkuris I've maanged to put together on pen and paper to decide how they'll work, what they'll behave like and what kind of bean paste they'll have...

But there are some I still haven't decided on yet. Cause some of them are kind of odd. Mostly on deciding their bean paste. :P I'll continue looking through foods for a while to see if I can nail some that could sit the said charaters....

I'll put down a list later on once I get some of them put together.

Seems like bad luck struck again. >_< Well I understand , I wasa hoping you get a shot at doing Suika Fortress again since I pushed to get the update out. But I can wait.

And as a good reminder to you all, if any of you fans of the mod or Touhou fans alike want to see Suika Fortress get an LP. Vote for it in Ultramara's thread.

Hmm, Futo-kuri looks like the hat could be a bit bigger.

Bigger in general or heigth. I suppose you might be right,I'll see if I can make Futo's hat stand out some more. But I do have limited space to work with so don't expect maricles.

Anyways I'm going to sit here and discuss my plans for the time being.

Current stage of plans for the next release will center around PC-98 charaters and unique creatures.

Since the voting been going on for a while I got plenty of respond from it and from the poll it appears I'll be working on all the charaters.

Well it might be all of them, but it could end up being more like a cast majority of them at the most possible chance.

My idea will be to work on each charater and each series of the game.

From High Responds to Prayer all the way to Mystic Square.

Most of the charater I'll be doing will be the bosses, very few mini bosses are worth putting in since they don't have any notable charatistics.

But anyways, I will try to cover all of them. This can even include a PC-98 Reimu, Marisa (based on her apperance in game 2,), Yuuka, and Alice.

Most of the charaters that will be in it will be yukkurified of course, That's no exception.

But some non human ones (like Evil Eye Sigma) will appear as Mega beast or the like.

Oh and I do have a fitting place for the Mystic Square crew, that should make things rather...FUN. >:D

Some other creatures I'm considering adding like like the sake worm from the fairy comics and the Tsukichno that Marisa once found in the same said comic, also maybe creature like those Kasen summoned to aid her (minus dragons, I am not putting in a dragon unless gods can take on a physical form and engage in earth shaking events and possibly fight)

So yeah got my hands filled pretty well here. It'll be interesting how this plays out.

I'll have to see how much time I have left too considering Today's entering reworking buildings now, which could mean the new release could be eminate. Still hoping to complete this by December sometime though since that's when I expect the new release to be out.

Finally connection is down at home for the moment and won't be back till after Monday, Course thankfully I have a waty to still connect.

But anyways time to get to work.

ANy thoughts, question and feedback will be appriciated.

Well I'm done for now. The yukkuris are done and seem to be in working condition! They should be fun for you all to deal with (if your into evil regions and good regions). And don't forget to say hi to the rabbits as they're bound to come for your stuff. So be ready to have FUN on a whole new level...

Wat is the ETA on the new patch update Totaku? Cause i Think I may wait till u update it before I actually start on making the LP for this mod ^_^.

Since It almost looks guaranteed that this mod will be the next LP I will be doing on my DF mods LPs

Somewhere between today to as late as Wendsday.

I'm working on the last bit of token placement and adding in one extra thing for the Inabas before doing some final testing and then I will launch the next update.

That's what's in my current plan.

After that will be a at least one or two more updates before Suika Fortress goes into a brief rest until Caravan Arc Release 1 comes out. (assuming they get done before it's release)
