Yeah, it seems like it's not really what the Rules As Written say should happen, but they're explicitly a bit flexible in what happens in this sort of situation.  We also have precedent for failed Use Magic Device checks causing explosions in-universe (although if that was a wand of Fireball, blowing up in her face is definitely more appropriate, RAW-wise).

I assume that Roy wanted the clerics to go after Durkula in the first place, but they got a little overeager to smite some undead. Hence his surprise at the vampire he was fighting being flamestriked. Obviously he couldn't redirect their efforts before the battle spiraled all out of control.

Yeah, this definitely seems to be what happened.

Interestingly, Durkon is still hanging around to watch the fireworks, instead of teleporting off to get things done ASAP. More Evil Gloating?  He certainly looks amused (and miss "I'm-so-thirsty" is hanging out in the background, having decided that not getting cut in half by Roy is the better part of valor, heh heh).

Yes, that's all correct.  The jackalope was female originally, but animals that become human always end up as boys (she was aware of this, and didn't mind).  The latter is because the Court demands (gender) balance, and the fairies always end up female.  The page after that one also has a partial shot of the jackalope's new body in its growth tank.

This does raise the question of what pronouns are appropriate.  I would assume that the mind remains the same, but the jackalope didn't mind that she would end up in a male body, so presumably she also wouldn't mind being referred to as male now? (shrug)

The other animalboys we met in Chapter 36 mostly acted like boys, insofar as it's possible to tell at all.

The figure on the left is definitely Eglamore.  The symbol is on the dragon slayer armor (see also here), and the helmet is the same.  The red cape doesn't appear to be a permanent part of the outfit, but we've seen him wearing a similar one before

There! Mindcontrol bony finger things from that one dream chapter. Or similar at least :V
Not sure if those (the ones now, not previously) are supposed to be literal etheric shenanigans, or just metaphorically represent Annie's struggle to not flip the fuck out.  A lot of people in the on-site comments seem to be assuming it's the former.  I guess we'll probably find out eventually.

Also: keep pushing, Kat!  You've almost gotten through to her!  It's probably going to hurt, but she really needs it.

Urkel for MVP (Most Valuable Pokemon)!

For reference, Aerial Ace is apparently based off of a famous sword technique, with a name that didn't translate the reference well.  This explains quite a bit, including the huge number of non-Flying Pokemon that can learn the move and why the Honedge line of Pokemon learn it as a level-up move, despite not being Flying-type in any way.

Yeah, the same thing happened near the end of Chapter 11.  The black gunk comes back pretty fast.

And yet they can still punch your face in.  Makes me think of the Pictsies/Wee Free Men from Discworld.

I am impressed ... some of these are quite long-standing bugs (items trapped in ice disappearing if the ice melts has been around since ... I can't even remember).  Keep up the good work!

Was running around with my demigod adventurer and two companions from my hometown.  Been to various places, including raiding a tomb for some real nice bronze equipment.  Oddly, the sarcophagi in both of the two mounds in the tomb were empty, and I never saw a mummy, despite walking directly adjacent to the sarcophagi and taking items from the tomb (both actions that would rouse a mummy in previous versions).

In the process of exploring all the lairs and camps and such I'd asked for the location of, I finally found a big old bandit camp full of goblins.  Mostly goblin wrestlers, and they're nonhostile as usual ... except that the leader is a crossbowgoblin, and IS immediately hostile, as I find out when one of my companions takes an bolt to the leg.  I start desperately sprinting towards him, blocking arrows on the way, until one gets me in the leg while I'm one square away, chipping the bone.  Scared now, because I know I'm probably going to pass out, but I check my wounds screen and it doesn't actually list any pain at all, so I'm okay, right?

Nope.  I take one more step towards the leader and immediately pass out.  I get to watch people running around for a while, and then, astonishingly, I wake up again.  Apparently the leader ran out of bolts, because his quiver is empty, and he's busy wrestling me.  I guess the combination of that, my full armor, and the fact that none of the other goblins were hostile kept me alive.  However, both of my legs, both of my hands, and one shoulder have all been ruined by wrestling, so I'm lying on the ground with my ability to stand or grasp lost and trouble breathing from one bruised lung (fortunately not two, or that blinking Mortal Wound warning would've actually meant something).

Half crippled, in terrible pain, I wrap my remaining good arm around his throat, throttle him unconscious, and tear his throat out with my teeth.  He bleeds to death unceremoniously.

My companions are both in the same shape as I left them, presumably because the leader was focused on me and none of the others were hostile.  One's lying on the ground with a broken leg from an earlier bolt, and the other is actually totally unharmed (in fact, I think he hammered a few of the cowering wrestlers to death while I was busy).  Conveniently (and unusually), none of the wounds any of us have taken involved nerve damage, so I grab my dropped weapons, crawl away, and then fast travel to get us back on our feet.  Then we go back and slaughter all of the pathetic sniveling wrestlers.

Quivers are still useful for water storage, they can hold 20 water as opposed to a waterskin's 3 water.

Fighting with some random animals, the auto-attack AI seems to be heavily favoring punching and other non-weapon attacks (scratching, kicking, biting) over stabbing/slashing with my sword, even though I have good sword skills and no skills in those other types of attack.  This may be because the sword gets stuck in and there doesn't seem to be an option to twist it out anymore; instead you just can't use the sword to attack until you manually [I]nteract with it to pull it out.  Alternately it may be because the combat hadn't escalated enough yet. Punching is brawling-level, right?  Well, I'm pretty sure I remember punching an ibex hard enough that it exploded, so I dunno.  Is that just the Superhuman Strength?

Also a little confused about how to follow directions I've been given to some bandit camp or another- that may be me just not knowing the new interface yet.

Not only will random townsfolk (and your companions) chat with you on their own, they'll actually talk to each other sometimes.  Lots of combat chatter during the fighting, even when it was just hunting innocent One-Humped Camels.

That particular adventurer came to an unceremonius end when he got encased in ice during swimming practice.  Some things never change.

Yeah, and as far as I know, he still don't want to give them stuff like MANPADS, giving Assad complete air superiority.
Now I'm certain I'm not understanding something, because how the hell does stuffing your pants help against aircrafts?
MANPADS are man-portable air-defense systems (Stinger missiles, etc).

there are giant mushrooms now that seem to work their way into everything

I suspect that's realistic, if unhelpful.  Perhaps there needs to be code for tree-chopping (or mushroom-chopping, as it were) to keep the trade routes clear.  I'm sure Toady will figure something out.
