Yeah, you can use whatever items(times 3) you like. Takes a while sorting through all the worthless stones, should you want something very specific. Works nice with large gems(for eyes :) ).

And I'm actually using [BUILD_LABOR:ARCHITECT] now. Seems like a better choice for artistic arrangement of "furniture".

Check out the "Display case" workshop as well:

having 3 statues on top of eachother comes to mind like a nice totem pole.

These are sexy.
That is all.

DF Modding / Re: Tileset for improved text?
« on: June 29, 2010, 05:57:42 am »
I made this tileset specifically to have as few distractions from text as possible. I haven't updated it for DF 2010 yet, but if you like the letters you could copy-paste them over another tileset pretty easily.
I like it, very clear and smooth looking.
the only thing that bothers me is seeing male symbols in storage yards instead of bags, but its a necessary evil I know.

Wouldnt you call this a totem pole? I would.

Actualy im gonna mod this in for a next fortress, I kinda like it. Might mod it to need some feathers or scales or something.

Whats the 3rd item though?

I could be wrong but I think that might be an item of choice from anything.
if so: kitten corpse totems, AWAY!

Heh, looking back at this... I think Lumin already created a DF Browser game. Nothing stopping you guys from building another, though :P

looks interesting, except for the fact about the pregnant mothers controlling when you can play...
3 pregnant mothers and 148 people to go through them right now.. ugh design flaw. What if mothers stopped playing?

Currently employed as a vineyard labourer, so I'd be a dabbling grower
but due to my idle time and constant partying, I've apparently become legendary in my social skills

yay for slacking

DF General Discussion / Re: Multiple monitors FTW!
« on: June 28, 2010, 02:17:07 am »
I use either 2 or 3, the 3 is if I feel like playing two fortresses at once, I'll bring my laptop over.
the other is dedicated to therapist or any other applications DF related.

having an entire monitor dedicated to stonesense though seems a little bit like overkill,  I mean, its not even finished yet lol.

decided to take a little time and make it clearer as to what you were trying to show.
although I took the liberty of switching the inventory and labours menu's because inventory is not as important as getting jobs done which need to be done.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Ah, what the heck. I'll chip in here and there what I can.

Damn I had hope this was still going, I would have dug WC3 out from the bottom of my collection and install it again, JUST to play this map...
it was pretty cool playing the beta of it with deon but it had a couple strange bugs which didnt make sense when I was trying to help him figure out what was going wrong with rock crafting.
instant crashes would happen when the building was selected but it used the same system the other buildings did and they all worked fine.
(pretty simple system too, crashes should never have been possible)

if you want I could take my hand at making some sounds digitally, I'm by no means a professional but I should be able to come up with the majority of what you'd want.

do a search for "Fire on Demand" and you'll find something completely suited towards cave people.

Also I'd be against using Kobolds as the main civ, simply because of Kobold Camp which already exists.

also, agriculture Should be possible, but very limited, having all crops only possible to be planted in spring, and a very small selection of crops which all require preparation in a farmers workshop.

on the other hand of course, gem windows are often thought of as stain glass windows, and opaque glass is often used as well.
