Something tells me this has been asked before a thousand times, but you didnt search.

I find that a drawbridge hooked to a lever is all you need to repel an invasion, designate the order the hit R for repeat.
You now have a bunch of orcs running over a bridge and falling into a disasterous hole of epic heights.

Why no taming? a death tower works just the same really, with the added effect of not having a huge risk of angry creatures attacking you again.

I believe someone had some success with making a wagon type creature who had firebreath.

Eh, selling meals is like cheating to me. And if you aren't playing DF for the challenge, then you have serious problems.
I'll play dwarf fortress for whatever reason I please.
Looking at your avatar, you seem like a dwarf who likes cats for their aloofness. ::)

this is relevant to my interests.
I dont mind helping out either really.

The only problem is that there are so many differant weapon types and people will complain about what went where and how hard it is to combine an army of x with y because they both use the same bit.

Building a fortress entirely out of water. (Yes Water)

It's possible to make the walls via massive floodgate useage and mechanisms.

I actually ran out of stone at one point, was really weird.
No... how I did it was I filled up the stacks then hooked them to a lever, then pulled the lever.
Its a bug in the way water logic works, I found out about it in an interview some game company did with tarn a while back.

Wow, I bet that was a nightmare when the tantrums hit...

"ANGRY!!!!!!!" *grabs floodgate* "Nebol! NOOOOOO!!!!!!"
The solution to this would be to put separate floodgates every few tiles (10-20, depending on how lucky you're feeling, punks). And also, this isn't really a fortress made of water, but a fortress with water in the walls (radiation shielding). Maybe someone should mod miasma to be called radiation and have only certain types of walls block radiation. Someone do this please. Maybe figure out a way to have it make you grow extra limbs. That would be so epic. Imagine fighting elves with your strange mutant dwarves.

it Was actually walls made of water, it's a bug in the way water logic works.
You Can effectively make a column of water by using large ammounts of flood gates.

Arthas also just wanted to save Lordaeron.

ARE YOU TRYING TO TURN TOADY INTO AN UNDEAD CESSPIT, NRN?

..Well.. it would be kinda Fun.  ;)

also I Did contact Toady yesterday after posting this to see if he was willing to help put some more accurate stats together on my donations message.
but if toady feels that this is too much of an invasion then I'm perfectly fine with him closing it.

I kinda figured people would cry about this.

This was meant to denote the prying people and show them some reality, not simply to say "Toady is poor" If you think thats what I was trying to say, then just chop off your fingers because you dont deserve to complain about what I've done. All you're doing is muddying what is good intentions.

Why do people always accuse those who try to help?

Honestly, I was just trying to convince people to donate a bit more by opening eyes.

I registered to just ask this one question? OP, how the hell do you live on only a hundred dollars a month for food. Basic college diet of Top Ramen and Kraft mac and cheese?
Not quite, I eat a little healthier than that.

packs of Hot dogs, Spaghetti with butter and parlsey or Tomato Sauce, Oats mixed with white sugar and a few spices, and I don't drink milk much, and don't use as much energy as a fitness instructor might use being a media student.

Mind you I also said I spend 100 on groceries but I do dip into my 250 misc money for some foods to treat myself as well, like if I was to eat out or something, since I am often at the school its my only realistic option for lunch on days where I am feeling too hungry to wait till I get home. Besides, 3.25 isnt that bad for a large slice of pizza ;)
