I have lost faith in Bay Station 12. Why? Because I got banned after being shot to death by the captain for turning someone into a monkey WITH HIS CONSENT. Then he killed the monkey, in other words, he griefed him.

The administration is horrible.

For some reason, I can't run the .JNLP file even though I have Java on my computer. It says there's nothing to open it WITH, what's the directory for the executable that runs it?

EDIT: Herp derp, it seems the file wasn't even in .JNLP format, had to do that myself.

Duelmaster, if you want to start at our place, I can PM you our secret.

Sure, man. My username/account/name/whatever will be, of course, Duelmaster409 because it's the best damned name ever. However, I might try it tomorrow, not now because I am beat from stayin' up all night for 2010 to come 'round.

EDIT: Just registered 'n stuff, so you know it's definitely me. This game has a reputation for assholery, judging from you guys' posts.

I have a suggestion: holding your breath so that you can go like 5 seconds without breathing. Basically it would void the breathing proc for 5 or so seconds then, after time's up, you breath in lungfuls of toxins or N2O and die or you're in space and you die anyways, or you breathe AIR. The reason being is because I'd like to go in space and hold my breath for 5 seconds without dying instantly, even though I might pass out from the temperature anyways.

Maybe I just want it as an extra challenge? Something to go, "AW SNAP THE FUCKING DWARVES MADE THE BOOZE STOCKPILE FLOOD" or something. It's always entertaining to see that.

I'd like to start a mini-fort! Any old place will be excellent, as long as it has an AQUIFIER (one), Magma, and is accessible to all other races.

Now wouldn't it just be awesome to wage war against other Dwarven civilizations?

461
I'm a relatively new at bein' dwarfly, yes. Kittens? Okay, sure.

FPS + dead kittens = more FPS

It's too bad I don't see my mom on a daily basis, I live with my brother approximately 100 miles away from her. However, maybe my brother telling me to stop leaving the water on so long because the bills will go up and bitching about me using too much electricity qualifies.

Who's that human leading the si-- OH GOD IT'S BRO

Have you ever had a human besiege your fortress only to get shot down by your dwarven crossbow-machinegun, captured in cages to be used to feed the Bronze Collosus, and meet a splattery end to your champion hammerdwarves? I'm sure most of you have.

Have you ever felt the slightest bit of guilt when you kill 'em, though? I mean, they're HUMANS. They're US in real life. Of course, you have no remorse or scruples when you torture the goblins and elves, but the humans... It just feels mean. I look forward to the peace treaty, so we can stop this bloodshed. Humans don't deserve to die.

(Just checked the legends, this human civ doesn't have a violent past with any other civilization besides a couple of elves for a few years)

DF General Discussion / Running Dwarf Fortress on a crappy 600 MH computer?
« on: December 29, 2009, 01:04:53 pm »
Yes, this computer is that crappy. My computer literally falls to its knees and says, "STOP RUNNING THIS CPU-EXPENSIVE GAME YOU PRICK!"

Fortunately I do have a dual-core gaming computer that runs Dwarf Fortress excellently when I designate a whole core just for it and another to run nothing but windows in the background and maybe some music I put up to compliment Dwarf Fortress. I just want to know, is anything to increase FPS the slightest bit on this computer? Yes, I've turned off weather and temperature and turned on Partial Print. Is there anything else I can do to increase FPS?
