Just wait until the additional character options supplement for Tingleverse comes out. The author claimed that he'd like to do rules for Living Objects. You don't have to be a sofa that was turned into a person. You could be a literal sofa that is legally a person.

My copy of Tingleverse somehow arrived yesterday. But I imbibed a bit too much and was unable to read anything after a certain point. And then for most of today, I was pounded in the butt by the manifestation of last night's lack of inhibitions.

So I can't say much about the game except that the editing in the beginning is a bit rough.

A business opened up a new location a few miles away - Tire Discounters. The business name on the building is "TireDiscounters" in the same exact italic white bubble font as all of the dubious job simulator games.

I pass it multiple times a day. I've wondered a few times why Tire Discount Store Simulator isn't yet a thing.

May have to pick this up.

Debating crossposting to the WTF thread as well.

I've been anxious and having anxiety attacks for nearly two weeks straight.

Cornered my boss and told him I'm not doing support duty anymore because it's affecting my life, our European dev team isn't making any steps to improve the process, and given I've been stuck in my Google-based bubble (whereas all of the issues stem from everything not related to my work) for my entire time here I don't have the product knowledge necessary to be helpful anyway.

May or may not have a job here soon based on the conversation that is presumably happening now that I've left.

I don't feel good or happy about it. But I feel just a little better and the knot in the pit of my stomach went away for a while. And that makes me at least slightly happy. Doubly so as one of the companies I applied to got back to me today.

Trump leaked sensitive information again, this time by either revealing that the US is sending spy planes over Iran, or by revealing that the US found a way to overcome atmospheric interference in satellite photos. All in all, it just goes to show that Trump is a frequent liar, not a skilled liar.

Skimmed the thread but I didn't see the followup.

Hover over this. I'll let the url speak for itself.

Got passed on a job here as well. Paraphrased, of course:

"We liked your technical stuff. We weren't sure if you'd be a culture fit, however, as you didn't properly answer the culture questions that we didn't ask." They also told me about three times "you're quiet, but that's not necessarily a bad thing". On the plus side, that's literally the only place I've interviewed that's offered feedback.

I'm counting that as a bullet dodged.

Meanwhile I'm just wasting time at my current job. I'm fine with support duty in theory. In practice at this company, however, not so much. The rest of the dev team is four hours offset from myself so they're not much help. I've been kept in my box until now so I've got precisely zero plus a smidge knowledge on how other things work together. And the dev team doesn't think playbooks hold any value so everyone retreads the same ground every time an identical issue crops up, fucking around in TeamViewer sifting through log files until their accumulated product knowledge that I don't have and can't ask about because they're all in the same building and can just go ask one another points out the obvious solution.

YaBB came out in '01. SMF forked off in 2006, coincidentally the same year that DF "released" (though the forums were on something else in the beginning, if I recall; Some of my old posts from when I was a wee little asshat look fucky due to the migration).

But the version at the bottom of the page (not the copyright; that's off) dates it to Jan 5, 2017. That's 16 years of updates wherein some sort of solution could have been approached.

Hello, I'm new to this particular WTF.

Browsing GD, I spy a post by a username. Said username is black and not a link. And apparently that user who got deleted or banned or some other badverb is the reason that quoting is broken.

WTF, forums. Forum software has been around for multiple actual decades. This isn't a solved problem?

When you get a quest to grow five things, and you find a sack of 5 seeds in your inventory next time you open it, the seeds name has nothing to do with what you're supposed to grow (they're both invented words anyway). then you plant them are water them, but I could not find any indicator about whether they've grown enough to be OK for the quest, since each time you can gather or interact with something, you do not know what you are trying to get before you get it.

I have fought 3 different creatures already, but "fought" is not the right word : I did not get attacked once. All this big talk of "Magnus are aggressive", but all they do is groan after citizens.

The second part may be a bug. On my first go round, I saved the lady and found it weird that only one of the enemies was attacking. On a second save, both were on me immediately.

As for the first bit, you seem to have combined a quest and a side quest. The game doesn't do a great job of explaining that you don't have to select the quest button to further quests. You talk to the lady and by way of thanks for saving her, she gives you some seeds. If you select quest, you trigger a side quest to grow x of a different plant that you have to buy the seeds for.

I posted about Re:Legend in this thread a while back because it wasn't out yet. It has graduated.

I mentioned this game in the "games that don't deserve their own thread" thread a few times as it wasn't out yet. But now it's out.

Kickstarter campaign
Steam - Normally $20 but is discounted to $18 for the first week.

Re:Legend was the subject of a successful Kickstarter campaign just a smidge over two years ago as of this post. It was slated to fulfill about a year ago but didn't. If you've been on the platform for any length of time, you probably expected that. They kept people in the loop with a monthly interactive update, however, so that helped to alleviate concerns.

Pretend I didn't read the final 4/5 of the thread title. What is this?

Re:Legend is a game of many hats.

You can do all of your typical farmgame things. Grow crops. Forage. Mine. Fight wild creatures for their body parts. Raise animals in your barn (I think).
You craft new equipment using things you've gathered and you seem to be able to unlock new stuff at some point. You have a number of "elemental" tabs in your crafting bench that you can cycle between but most are empty.

Pictured: Three of the... elemental item types? Water, plant, and... desert? poison?
You can do quests for the townsfolk, who are a mix of humans and penguins for some reason. I have no clue what rewards you get as I've only played a few in-game days at the moment.
Finally, you can tame wild creatures. These give you new abilities based on the creature. I've only tamed the mandatory water creature at the moment, which has proved helpful. It can water three tiles at once (a feat that would require upgrading your starting watering can) and uses its own pool of SP (energy, if you've played Stardew) to do it.

There's an overarching quest regarding the wild magnus (read: Poke-creature things) becoming more aggressive lately. Some ghost voyeur dude hangs out in your house while you're sleeping whispering to you about corruption and how you're the only one who can help. Oh, and some asshole tries to murder you as soon as you finish customizing your toon.

So there are boatloads of things to do. I'm assuming that more villagers arrive at some point as most of the businesses seem to be empty. And there are a lot of them.

My only complaint thus far is that the controls are a bit wonky. My controller mostly worked in the menus. But then to go back to the previous menu, you've got to hit Esc. While you're playing, you can hit F to progress conversations and interact with things. Except after a save, where you've got to click a button. Targeting attacks is a bit weird as well.

And upon firing up the game, I discover that one of the early quests seems to be bugged now. I can no longer resolve the differences of the blips and the prunis so I guess I get to restart. That's annoying but I suppose I shouldn't have went to sleep, saved, and then quit mid-quest.

Those issues should be fairly trivial to fix and the game's in EA at the moment so I suspect those low-hanging fruit to be addressed before the full release.

Multiplayer

You can play with a total of 1-4 players. I don't know anyone with the game, however, and my second key hasn't arrived yet so I've been unable to test it out. Just know that it supposedly exists and there's a menu item for it.

Why has this thread gone the way it has?

That is one of my many sads for today.
