It might have something to do with what, exactly, those particular forms of clown are. !!Varieties of clown!! might not have much ability to damage something that lives in magma since the crabs are so resistant to heat, toxic clowns probably can't horrendously affect zombies like they can the living, and other types might rely on sharp teeth or claws to kill things, which wouldn't do much good against zombies, either. So, it might simply be that these zombie magma crabs just happen to be immune to most of what clowns can do to them, while the clowns themselves aren't so lucky.

Making them the perfect army with which to invade hell...

Has anyone done mass-production of this yet? How's the framerate when you have a lot of dwarves, but most of them are in D-cells?

For me, it's garbage. Clothes that are too big for my dwarves. Whatever the caravans have room for.

Placing dwarves in the military, even in an inactive squad, can make them wear clothes.

I DEMAND A DUEL OF WITS!
I see no purpose, nor honor, in fighting the unarmed.

I actually lol'ed. Having visited their forums recently, I can attest to this.

Exhibit A: http://minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=39859

contrast with

Exhibit B: http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=45446.msg889832

My main point is that a significant portion of their thread was devoted to "it's just a game" posts. Because apparently they thought people actually thought the game was real?

But I must say, they are much more efficient at applying magma. A single Minecraft bucket can carry enough magma to flood the world, placed correctly.

Today is the best day ever. My wife died, and I lost an arm in a goblin invasion, but I ate in an AWESOME dining room. MLID.

I've heard that roads CAN be ignited, but I haven't tested it myself.

Offering stuff to merchants does not count as an export, but trading a million things for one worthless thing does.

If you have enough z-levels above ground, you can build a platform above them and drop it on them. It takes time, but it works.

In 40d, dwarves could be forced onto fortification squares with water, but not off the map.

Just don't let your dwarves get pushed through.
They can do that? What's the death message if they go off the map?

I tried it in 40d, and dwarves were not pushed off the map, although they were pushed into the fortifications themselves.

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / On Clothing and Property
« on: September 06, 2010, 07:26:52 pm »
My dwarves finally got to the point where their clothes fall off and they go around naked, so I made them all a bunch of clothes. I made a few interesting observations. Some of this people probably already know.

I have the economy turned off, and I'm using DF version 0.31.12.

1. When a dwarf drops clothing, then suffers an unfortunate accident, the owned clothes are inherited by their descendents. I haven't tested what happens if they have more than one child, or what happens when they don't have any.

2. My dwarves wouldn't pick up/put on clothes that were not first taken to a stockpile. So if you quantum-store clothes, your dwarves will leave them alone.

3. Dwarves do not claim ownership of new clothes they put on. I'm not sure what makes them claim clothes, but this isn't it. Maybe it's when they drop them into cabinets that they own. Does anyone else know anything about this? It doesn't seem to be in the wiki, at least, not anywhere obvious.

Actually, it seems like only the dwarves in the military put on new clothes at all. None of them were active. They were set to metal armor. They were set to wear armor "over clothing" but clothes wer not specifically part of the uniform.

It replenishes. It has magma flow at the bottom. Quite a lot of it, actually.
