Meph: Let me know if you have trouble with the conversion script. It's probably a lot easier for me to tweak it than for you to manually do 500 registrations or however many there are.

expwnent: Before you do extra work, I will try with registration and see how it goes. You mentioned a script a while ago that automatically reads out raws and creates the correct syntax? That would be fine, no need for you to port stuff before I at least have tested the new system. If you and Roses say its amazing, who am I to not us it. ;)

It should be named something obvious in modtools. It might be slightly wrong, but it should be close enough that you can tweak it or just find/replace the things that are wrong so that they're right. Unless I fixed it and forgot about it. I remember having some doubts.

I'd like to add a second question to that: Does this r2 release only have ReactiobTrigger using registration, or does it have both this new system abd the old AutoSyndrome and SyndromeTrigger together?

Right now it's only the new system with registration. When I get around to it I'll make a temporary port of the old system.

The ones that worked in r5e1 should still work.

635
A lot of it's the new system, but there are a lot of old scripts lying around that have their own weird ways of processing input.

You're using an old, unworking version of hackwish. Like, literally doesn't work. Here's one that does:

Updated. Will be in the next release.

It's a structure. Here's a script:

printall(df.global.cursor)

Just tried that, not a recognized command.

First, "lua" then "~df.global.cursor"

Also try ":lua ~df.global.cursor".

Basically everything will crash in r1. r2 should be mostly ok, but still be careful with it.

DFHack 0.40.08-r1 had a bug in dfhack.init-example where a few commands would make DF crash just after loading a save. The only change to DFHack 0.40.08-r1.1 and DFHack 0.40.08-r1.2 is in this file. Manually overwrite the file with the most recent version if you grabbed DFHack 0.40.08-r1 before this fix.

In the most recent version of DFHack, the raw/scripts folder will be checked for Lua scripts before the hack/scripts folder. This means that each savegame can have its own collection of scripts that come with it and you can transfer saves more easily between people that don't have the same mods. It also means that for this project you can just throw all the scripts into the same folder as long as there's no overlap and it'll work fine.

--offtopic below--
That's what I hate git/github for. Before cool-distributed-trendy-git-github people gained write access to a single repo and just worked there together. Now they're forking and forking, right now we have at least five more or less active dfhack repos, nobody knows which one to use at a given point in time and when changes going to be merged into the "main" repo.
--offtopic end--

The advantages outweigh the disadvantages. Nobody needs to ask to fork the repo, and anyone can choose what updates they want to include. The github.com/DFHack/DFHack (or similar URL) is the "official" version and is always at least as up to date as the most recent release. We're in an unusually long delay before the release so it's a bit behind. Also there are submodules and git submodules are slightly terrible.

edit: What Warmist said.

Me too for ghost army. Is it possible to trigger ghosts on command?

There has been a very long delay since 0.40.01 was released, and most of that's my fault at this point. I probably could have gotten a release done sooner if I had been more on top of things. To everyone waiting, I am sorry.

I'm going away for a long weekend, but when I get back I intend to do a release of whatever we have at the time for the most recent version we can at the time. Nothing is 100% with real life stuff of course, but probably Tuesday, very probably on or before Wednesday.

Warmist is working on it for the next release but may or may not finish in time. As far as I know there isn't one for r5.
