So I gave SRW a whirl. I did not expect to enjoy it nearly as much as I did, even if my reaction to dying on the final boss' last spellcard was essentially 'FUKKEN LASERS'.

EDIT: I gave UNL a spin. Beat Sanae's final boss with a melee smash and one second left on the clock. I feel awesome now.

Your hero has to get to level 7 before they can join a guild. You can then tell them to "Join the 'Slaves to Armok' guild" or something via the chat thing and they'll go on a quest to do so.

Apparently there's a no-nudity pack on the file repository, you could try that out as well.

Just checked myself. Welp, time to reinstall M&B.

If it weren't for the fact that this computer I'm on is shared between the family, I'd give Wedding Dance a whirl. Shame, because it does look quite good.

If you're taking suggestions, just one thing I'd like added is that if you're near an NPC with a flashlight equipped and your vision's impaired (weather, night, so on), your LOS is increased as long as you stay near them.

You said no bitching. That's impossible. The whole trailer looks, quite frankly, crap. It seems to me that they're pretty much just using the XCOM IP to sell their alien shooter 5000.

He never said no bitching about the trailer. Just no bitching about its relation to the X-Com series (or lack thereof or whatever people think).

Gay is a synonym for happy, Subject. The odds of it being used in that sense nowadays, however, is admittedly highly unlikely.

I liked Spore. It's probably because I didn't pay any attention to the pre-release stuff, though.

I think that was sarcasm, Myroc.

No, but we have fucking interviews of what they plan for the game and that's rather enough to not label it a x-com game. Might be a good game, just not right for the x-com title. That's what pisses x-com fans off.

Now go be a jerk elsewhere and learn self-caps-control.

You could still just wait to try it out instead of going on about how it's going to suck as an X-Com game based on some pre-release interviews. Yes, yes, you've been playing it for ten years, they've played it for a few hours, it isn't going to be the X-Com we know and love, etc. etc. I'm cautiously optimistic as to its chances at being good as an X-Com game instead of just a good shooter, although even I'll admit that's doubtful, to say the least.

I salute you for being the first person I've seen on this forum to seriously write in capslock. It says a lot about you.

Bah, I can talk out of caps just fine. I probably should have added one of those /sarcasm tags or something since it doesn't translate to text well.

EDIT:

And then I just hit upon something that would make FPS X-Com good, guaranteed. STALKER. X-COM EDITION. Or, to elaborate, this upcoming FPS, but with STALKER style gameplay. You know it'd be awesome.

IN THIS THREAD: ACTUAL, GENUINE X-COM DISCUSSION INTERSPERSED WITH 'BAWWWWWWWW' ABOUT HOW THE NEW GAME IS GOING TO SUCK EVEN THOUGH THERE'S NO ACTUAL GAMEPLAY FOOTAGE OR EVEN A DEMO OUT YET

IN OTHER WORDS, THE INTERNET AS USUAL

TO THOSE WHO AREN'T CONDEMNING IT OFF THE BAT I SALUTE YOU

You know what would be an amazing mechanics system for a new x-com game?

The valkeryia chronicles system.

Seriously, if you havent played it, do so - its a modern turn based system that works really well, and I could see a similiar system making an AMAZING modern x-com game.

That is... actually a pretty good idea.

Everyone who hates this game based on what info we currently have is going to hate the game anyway no matter what.

I'm going to get it based on whether or not it's a good game in and of itself, not whether it's a worthy successor to the (mostly defunct, and don't deny it) X-Com name. If it's both, then bonus points to 2k. If it's just a good shooter, that's fine too. If it's neither, then I'll shrug and go get something else.
