PTW!

Because, what could go wrong!

PTW!

My suggestions:

- Grow for now
- Focus on upgrading military first
- Play the field, be opportunistic

I have asked before, but that was ages ago. I have a good ol' Logistics pilot kicking around, and I'd love to join a Bay12 corporation for some jolly cooperation. I have been teetering on the fence for a while, but the FTL-Likes topic made me crave Eve.

So... is there a corp? Is stuff happening? Is there hope for a newb? I know how the game works, but I don't really know how to do anything outside missions/mining...

The corp is a little dead and split up :( but we do converse on the channel "bay12 eve" so you can also find us there :)

I am also trying to recruit as many bay12 guys into my corp as I can we are part of FCON and CFC with me being a recruiter and a diplomat so if you are interested in joining send me a message I'm "Wulf Ulfric" in game :) and if your online now I can hop on and give you more info :)

I'll let you know if I take the plunge, I'm not online yet. I just might though, been wanting to for too long.

And I was just reminded of the engineer's scourge. Inconsiderate pilots.
Using a speed-enhancing item all of the time. Running around repairing nothing but the engines very quickly leads to no balloon and no hull. And then the pilot complains that I'm not doing my job, despite it being largely his fault, and everyone else's for never leaving a gun.

That's why I want a Bay12 team, so we don't have to deal with that!

Okay. I am so buying this. I may have a copy of the 4-pack available later, no promises :P

Give me all your steam ID's and time zones (here or via PM), I'll make a Steam group to coordinate our efforts.

As a bonus, I even have an old Ventrillo channel we can use!

Other Games / Re: The Bureau: X-COM Declassified now on steam.

I am actually intersted in this. Recent previews show this to be a real-time variant of the modern XCom. I love-hated that game, and the Bureau implementation seems to make way more sense of the mechanics. I'll have to wait for next paycheque, but then I'll preorder.

This really makes me think of Apocalypse. Here's hoping...

Oh, and I'm an XCom junkie. I own anything XCOM and spin-offs. I can stop anytime I want...

Hello and welcome everyone! Inspired by Girlinhat's FTL-Likes, we have put together a group to run Guns of Icarus with our fellow Bay12'ers.

Spoiler: Less serious (click to show/hide)

Guns of Icarus Online is a team-based steampunk airship combat game. Doesn't that just sound fantastic? Each airship hold 4 people, and the matches include between 4 and 8 airships.

For a taste of what the game has to offer, here is a video of a Battle Royale with TotalBiscuit, Angry Joe and more:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xxEy4hSyr54

And here are some videos by our fellow members:

And lastly, the game is on for a spectacular sale right now on Steam and ending August 18. A single version is cheap; a 4-pack of SPECIAL edition is only twice as much. It's a great deal, and people sometimes have codes to give away.
http://store.steampowered.com/app/209080/?snr=1_7_15__13
- Single game for $6.79
- Special edition for $11.21
- 4-pack special edition for $15.63!!!!

Oh, by the way, the special edition comes with snazzy clothes for each character loadout :D

So how do you get in on all this fantastic action? Simple! First, join our Steam group:
http://steamcommunity.com/groups/Bay12GunsofIcarus

In the group, you will be able to see other member and whether they are playing Guns of Icarus. When you log on, you need to add their names there separately as Guns of Icarus accounts are separate from Steam. Once you add them as Friend, you can see them on the Social screen; it's very handy.

When playing, it's best to join a party. Click on somebody, and press Join Party (or invite, if you need to start one). You can also Join their match - even a match in progress, if there are AI player spots to take over!

Once in-game, there are three classes - Helmsman, Gunner, Engineer. A ship only needs one Helmsman, who will pilot it and use special equipment to augment the flying ability. The Gunners are able to bring more special ammo than others, and there is usually 1; 2 on specialized/organized ships. An Engineer brings 3 types of repair equipment and most ships carry two of them.

------

I will be creating events at varying times, so we can group up and play. Feel free to create your own, or let me know what would be a good time! I know everyone lives in different timezones; please help me get events going that work for everyone!

This, by the way, is what the game looks like... from the muzzle of a mortar cannon:

So go on! Grab your flying goggles, some moonshine, a box of ammo, and let's go!

- Dawn of War 2 - 12 Mar, 2010. I miss this game, and I really miss THQ.

You miss the publisher of a game? Because Relic is still around :P

Although I will say that of them all, I had the least problems with THQ and more of their titles than other publishers. I liked what they tended to greenlight. Their DLC policy kind of sucked (more DLC, MOAR DLCsssssssssss), but they didn't have super asinine DRM or try to ape Steam.

You got it. I severely doubt Relic will find the same creative freedom elsewhere. And I didn't mind the DLC's, they felt reasonable in terms of cost/benefit. Overall, I felt like THQ was a balance to many other publishers by their sheer existence; with that gone, there are no non-corrupt major publishers left. And yeah, I feel pretty safe saying THQ was not corrupt as I have read many things by their top folks, and interacted with their community managers.

I don't particularly agree with the rubble. Where did the rubble come from? What broke the walls? The Cataclysm hasn't been around for that long, and this isn't Fallout.

Finally had time to do another!  I really need to stop shoehorning that dialogue in at the last minute...

Congratulation Davie, your male baboon hog has won you this round! :D Do you have a beastie lying around?

This thread is incredibly useful, and the bump is very well timed for me. I have just started doing research into coding, because I have roguelike ideas.
Thanks :D

I think we can take that meaning literally.
Hey, if we Crash to Desktop...maybe we can try and play solitaire?

At this rate, this would be real solitaire. Do you really want Michael to deal with medieval succession rights?
