Is it possible to get a function to read and display wilderness/cavern agitation levels, to say monitor how close you are to attracting agitated wildlife or cavern ambushes?

Yeah, that always sucks. I know I'll always miss my kitties.

The mice showing up could just be a coincidence, or the scent of a cat was enough to keep them away.

Those are dwarves that had failed strange moods in worldgen/npc forts. They'll wander the wilds until they die if old age. Because thirst/hunger isn't checked except for player fort pops or adventurers...

While not intentional, forgotten beasts made of filth can already be set on fire by dragons. You just need to engineer their meeting.

I've now dreamt that, while watching a stream and navmeshing a skyrim dungeon, a Legoshi Truck movie was announced. Legoshi Truck being a joke from Drawfee, of Legoshi from Beastars drawn as a truck from Cars. This led to a great deal of hype from other people watching the stream and confusion from me. Then I woke up and realized, Legoshi Truck Movie isn't real... you can't watch it

This sounds like a solid suggestion and also an easy fix to implement since its all in the raws, I could even write up a modification of the files needed and post it to fix the issue tonight and Putnam or Toady would be able to push it in if they were so willing.

A modified version of the humanoid joints body part could be made for insect people and legless people just as easily.

[edit]

Well, I tried making a mod to do it, but it doesnt appear to work. Looks like creature variations don't allow cut and select actions. (I get an error log from them.) Which means you would have to edit the vanilla files, so you can't upload it as a steam mod and have to add it manually to the vanilla files. I could have made a mistake too. Here's what the mod looks like:

[double edit]

This would also be a good opportunity to remove the [MEANDERER] tag from animal people, since it causes them to move so slowly.

Honestly, I would also expect competitors in a tournament to obey the rules of respect, no matter how awful their opponent or their opponents nation is. You should be able to beat their ass in a competition, treat them with more dignity than they deserve because of your superiority, and then gun them down mercilessly on the battlefield.

I can absolutely understand hatred; I have a brother who has always been nothing but an abuser to me. But I've always been forced to behave, too.

Update for V1.00.4 uploaded to both Steam and DFFD. Classic version doesnt have any graphics currently as I'm making sure not to use any Premium assets. I probably could have left the tools in, I'll get that fixed soon.

Got some bug fixes mostly, to reactions, interactions and materials. The reaction to turn plant creature bits into wood logs finally works, and mithril production produces four ingots of mithril from one adamantine and three steel, making it a means to multiply the usefulness of limited adamantine instead of an inferior alternative.

Echidnas have four-headed penises

Echidnas are monotremes, having a cloaca. They are the only extant monotremes besides platypi. Echidnas don't have nipples, but milk patches, and carry their eggs around in a "pouch" on their abdomen, but not like a marsupial pouch, more like the "primordial pouch" of cats. It's like squeezed between two rows of abdominal muscles. They eat bugs.

They're pretty cool.

I like to think DF's kobolds are a relative of echidnas and platypi. Have hair, ears, undescended males, lay eggs.

Dream started out as playing modded minecraft with unknown friends, making a mushroom tree farm in the depths if a truly gargantuan sinkhole. We were making a truly huge farm with tree saplings that could be planted in every square without spacing. Night came and we all went to bed, like actually sleeping irl, but in "game," which amounted to our reality, not in the minecraft sense. One of them had a sleeping bag in the farm area. And a movie came on. Not like on a television screen anywhere, but projected in empty space or on the cave walls somehow. I had been expecting this, the cave movies were known to me. So I stayed up to watch it.

It started out as a zombie horror flick, with a family trapped in a burning house surrounded by zombies. But then they were saved by Logan, as in Wolverine. And one other Xman. They took the family somewhere else. Meanwhile professor X and Ironman were getting help on how to solve the overall zombie issue. From Gandalf, from LOTR, who was going to take all the zombies to another dimension without the living because they were nominally intelligent and capable of being rehabilitated, just being bloodthirsty maniacs.

But before this was resolved it cut to Spiderman and Deadpool killing zombies and webbing survivors in danger and looters and gathering them up for transport. Transport was being handled by a cartoon giraffe thing who was flirting with one of the many spiderverse versions of spidergwen, taking people out to the desert to a secluded Mesa.

But then it cut to some city where a security guard trapped in a tower was getting bored and looked into a room with a bunch of sealed containers under glass, and opened one up. Someone yelled "no dont!" And everything exploded in orange mist. Steve Rogers was there and got caught in it.

Then i got confused by how weird this movie was and heard someone else awake in the cave-house. I tried talking to them, was going to ask If they were watching this shit too and what marvel movie was this, but realized it wasn't one of my friends, they were all still asleep. My father was now asleep in the cave house too on the sofa. Then in the hallway between rooms I was confronted by an old bald man who started questioning me about the movie, insinuating that I was insane and hallucinating. I was now in an office complex in a normal city. My mom came to pick me up and give me a ride home, and as i was describing what I had gone through to her, when I woke up.

I had really bad heartburn and had fallen asleep right after dinner, so I'm blaming this nonsense on that. It's barely 1pm now.

dear Toady,

i was wondering why stone cavern floors arent color palleted per type so they match the walls

thank u. and great job on the game!

Probably because a lot of players found that annoying in order versions. People wanted floors to be homogenous, without having to pave over them with blocks. A toggle or something to display it with mineral or bedrock colors would be neat, though.
