Frist checks the corridor over for traps before quickly deciding that he can't see any. Max then walks five feet ahead of the rest of the group, prepared to be hit by any trap that will hit him. Flinching constantly, he makes it to the doors unharmed, and the rest of the group joins him. Frist and Bonobo set up their entry position again while max kicks the doors open with his battleaxe at the ready.

Elaborately carved columns parade down the centre of this marble-paved hall. In the centre of this room is a badly damaged stone  statue, which appears to have originally depicted a man carrying a large spear with the point angled downwards; the upper parts of the statue have been smashed, and fragments of marble litter the floor nearby. At the base of the ruined statue is a large wooden chest.

You try and loot the room, but find nothing worth taking. You then proceed north through the doors, weapons ready. You are in a very dark hallway stretching out thirty feet. At the end is another set of double doors.

Nah, the bandits were wearing leather anyway. When you kill a creature I'm going to assume you take it's money and valuable objects, ignoring weapons and armour. You can take weapons and armour if you want, but it is very inefficient as loot.

Frist leaps over the pit and flips the table upside down. He moves it over to the pit and uses it as a bridge with the rope holding it up. The party crosses it slowly and carefully before removing the rope.

Oh, you have no extras. You're gonna have to go barefoot.

Max throws off his boots and drops them down into the pit before they are entirely dissolved.

What extras do you suggest we get rid off?

Frist throws his rope up, and the mages catch it. They pull as much as they can and manage to get him up, where he drops the rope again and begins to help Max up. Max grabs on to the rope and tries to climb up, but finds that his feet have stuck to the floor. He looks down and spots a grey, jelly-like substance climbing up his boot. Crap! Gray Ooze! The mages and Frist heave him up and onto the floor, but the ooze sticks to his boots, melting them away.

The party moves forwards into the room, when suddenly the floor opens up beneath them. Max and Frist fall down the pit. The floor of this dark room is covered with damp patches of slime, and the air is filled with a repulsive odour.

Frist and Bonobo hide on opposite sides of the corridor, ready to ambush anything that comes through. Max walks to to the heavy portals and pushes them open, ready to fight. He glances around the room from the doorway and sees nothing, motioning to the others that it's okay.

A heavy, long table and ornate chairs, badly deteriorated, occupy the center of this room. Discoloured patches on the wall seem to indicate that many paintings once hung there.

You ignore the signs of traffic and follow the east hallway, Max and Frist first while Bonobo and Skyler stay behind.. With Skyler mapping, you aren't moving very fast, but it is better than not mapping. The hallways only goes a short way to the east before it stops with two large, wooden doors standing before you.

You light torches and descend into the darkness, your spines tingling at the thought of the riches, and the dangers, that lie ahead...

You find yourself in an octagonal room. This room appears to be empty. The floor shows signs of substantial traffic between the stairs and the western hallway.

Exits are the staircase you just came down to the north and hallways to the east, south and west.

The group sets up their tents for the night and makes a fire in the ruins. Your tents are cold and the ground is hard, but it is enough to keep you going. The group takes turns watching out for monsters during the night. Suddenly, during Skyler's shift, a large beast is spotted. She wakes up the rest of the group and gets them to get ready for a fight.

"What do ya think this is?" asks Max to the rest of the group.

Bonobo speaks up, "It's a Gnoll. I spent years studying them and I could tell that shape from a hundred paces. It seems to be separated from the pack, so it isn't going to fight."

The group finds this reassuring enough toe help them sleep the rest of the night, but they are still cautious.

The sun rises and Bonobo and Skyler rise, preparing their spells for the day. They spend an hour on it before they are satisfied that they will be able to cast it that day and wake up Frist, the last one to wake.

"How fairs your injury?" Skyler asks Frist, hoping that he is better.

"Ay, it's alright. It was only a scratch, but I am not the hardiest of elves. Anyway, I am better now and can fight."

Bonobo and Max:
You take a look at the beached boat and find it largely intact. As such, you both grab it and tip it upside down, emptying it of the sand that was filling it. You then proceed to place it carefully in the water and get the group on board.

All:
Once on board the boat, Max uses his battle axe as a paddle and you make a safe trip across the calm waters. You land on the other side and get out of the boat to explore the ruins. You walk slowly towards what used to be the gate and is now a pile of rubble resting on the floor. The ruins are lifeless and seemingly empty, but then you spot a stairway going down into the inky blackness.

Initiative: Bonobo 4; Frist 3; Skyler 5; Max 2; Bandit 6
The bandit takes another hack at Max, but he raises his shield and blocks as Skyler and Bonobo charge in and attack. Having no real combat experience, they both miss painfully. Frist backs away, trying to recover from the assault. Finally, Max chops the bandit's head clean off.

After looting the bandits, you find 22 Copper, which Frist takes and puts in a sack.

The party moves onwards towards the castle, unmolested by other enemies. However, when they spy the fort through the trees, it is not what they expected. On a desolate island lies the blackened ruins of what was once a fort, destroyed by some terrible force. They approach the shore, and find an abandoned boat beached on the edge of the lake.

Initiative: Bonobo 6; Frist 6; Skyler 1; Max 6; Bandits 3 (Wow, that was some good initiative rolling)
As Max carries on charging towards the bandit attacking Frist, the bandit attacking Max tries to hit him with his sword, but misses. Max hacks at the bandit he was charging at with his axe, getting a solid hit in and hacking off a limb. However, the bandit still stands, intent on going out fighting. Bonobo casts Ventriloquism on the tree that the bandit is standing next to make it start screaming down his ear and distract him. This doesn't faze the bandit, though, and he stays on task. Frist takes a stab at the resilient bandit, finally killing him as he flops down onto the floor.

Seeing his comrade killed, the other bandit is filled with rage and charges at Max, his sword ricocheting of the armour. Finally, Skyler moves into position next to Bonobo.
