http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/politics/5110681/Copyright-law-will-not-change

Namely, this part.

Quote

The Government will not revisit a controversial law that allows internet providers to disconnect users for alleged copyright infringements, despite a UN report that said internet access was a human right.

In a recent report on internet freedoms, UN special rapporteur Frank La Rue said he was "alarmed by proposals to disconnect users from internet access if they violate intellectual property rights".

That included laws that would introduce a graduated response, whereby a series of penalties could lead to the suspension of internet services.

New Zealand recently passed legislation that would allow internet service providers (ISPs) to send up to three infringement notices to alleged copyright infringers.

The Copyright (Infringing File Sharing) Amendment Act also includes a provision that would allow copyright holders to apply to a court for suspension of internet services, but that would not come into force unless the Government considered the warning system was ineffective.

Putting aside the fact that I was already a huge critic of this law in the first place, going against a world-wide organization that has a better grasp of the facts at whole for reasons that are transparent at best and not there at all is just too much to bare for me. I mean really, does anyone really have the power to deny birth-given rights? Whilst that goes into a whole other topic, I personally think that the government really needs to think long and hard about their reasons of keeping this law intact, which, mind you, was entered on the back of the Christchurch emergency power.

To be honest, my personel expectations of this doing ANYTHING to the worlds little rampage on things that make people think differently are low. Oh so very low.

Just a thought since I hopped onto Baystation today just to see what it's like. I normally play Goon servers.

Is there any way you guys could reduce the lag from atmospherics? Goon Station did something with their atmospheric coding that involved removing vents and such, and it got rid of almost all lag. Explosions on Baystation however, remind me of Donut Station, where a meteor impacting the hull will lag the game for a good 30-45 seconds.

Yeah, just a thought since I have no Baystation experience and am spoiled by the goon servers.

Er, they quite literally removed their Atmospherics. Like, fully. You die on space tiles now AFAIK.

Aurora
http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=47678.0

In my eyes, Aurora is the F.A.T.A.L of 4x games: it's too unnecessary complex. I wouldn't recommend it, unless you're a masochist...
I would have suggested Master of Magic, but if Civ seems too short for you... I don't really know...

Comparing anything to F.A.T.A.L, is... Well.... Cruel. So very cruel.

Tryed playing this a few times on different computers. It rebeled against the graphics cards in about 3 computers and 1 of them was getting into the overly-over-the-top specs as well. Not sure if I just have bad luck or it has a problem with some graphics cards.

Signed. Why on earth this is not supported in modern games already is odd, to be honest. Is it just developers being lazy or what?

Well, after looking at the specs for it I said "Hey, I could play this!". I ended up being gifted it by a kind friend. However, an hour after release, the specs jumped up by about double.  >:( So yea. Noooot to happy about that. The actual game looks good and from what i've heard it is but it pains me that they had the nerve to change spec needs after release. And also the fact that it has more bugs then a swamp.
