I didn't realize you could go "around" caverns.  Aren't they map-wide?  I don't have much experience with them.

No.  Actually, I Runesmithed all but four of those invaders (the master and three others) to death, and then killed those four the proper way.  Since then, I've had two sieges come, give up, and leave.  Still says I'm under siege, though.

Yep, but it doesn't include them for some reason.  Plus their corpses aren't anywhere on the map.

I think the "Dead" tag makes them disappear.  They don't show up on Runesmith's unit list anymore.  (However, goblins I killed the "right" way do.)

Just now, I attempted to stop a siege by giving every invader the "Dead" tag.  The top of the screen still says "Siege".  Did I just make this siege permanent?  :o

So, I was amused by this at first, but a year without a caravan has made it a serious problem.  Is there anything in Runesmith that could fix it?

The only thing I'd done different than what I normally do is I used stonecrafts as my main export, so I'd exported a lot of items (numberwise, valuewise it's only 15k).

That's the amount you exported right then, or your total exported wealth after this trade? 
Sounds like that trade was just what it took to bump your exported wealth to the level necessary for the baron.

I've thought a time or two about trying something like this, although my version didn't involve building a fort - just channeling everything away.  I don't think I'd have the patience, though, and I probably wouldn't want to deal with what's underground, or with food.

I've had a goblin siege wandering around above my fort for a while (although my fort has been permanently under siege since I used Runesmith to kill one off).  They've basically been walking around killing Zombie Camels, since they can't find my door.  They also killed my very first Titan, by whipping him in half.

Has something about cave-ins recently changed?  I've got a section that, based on everything I know from reading and experience, should be crashing down, but isn't.  I went to the "init" file to make sure they weren't switched off, but now I can't find the part that mentions them.

Just got an even bigger one, and their human "Master" is leading it.  This almost feels like too great of a historical moment to cheat... well, maybe I'll just cheat a little.   ;D

I got a tiny six-goblin ambush, but they found an opening I had overlooked and got underground.  I savescummed to a few minutes before the ambush.  After walling up a few unprotected spots, I got a three-squad siege instead.

Yes, please! The more customization, the better! The only other things that I would want after that would be likes/dislikes and physical looks. I know a lot of people don't care about that stuff, but oh, the time I would spend on it.

I'd get a kick out of making my starting seven look and act like me and my friends.

Also, an engraving called "The Hateful Meat"
