Better put up my character

Name: Koshan Ferip
Imperial Title: Logical Advisor for the Emperor
Politics: Unioniste (Centralist-Liberal)
Fluff: An unlikely figure to be in the Imperial Court, Koshan was born into the military, yet adopted into the government. While his adoptive parents were not particularly remarkable, they did ensure his heterodox and complete education: while not best in his class academically, he certainly was among the most intelligent and held information that no one could ever be held to know. His life path almost seemed determined by fate alone; his run-ins with the law seeming to work in his favor, leading to the first expanding of his network leading into its now imperial span. It has taken him a long time to realize that he is, in fact, a leader of humanity.

I liked Spellforce.

It's hard to explain why, though.

It's a decently-made D&D-esque RPG with RTS mechanics. You can be a badass with an entire army behind you. That's my opinion anyway. In terms of it being 'bad' I would say the voice acting is what does me in but they're German it seems to be a habit (Men of War series -_-)

IT'S HAPPENING.

Scout the massive Slyesian Expanse in search of suitable worlds for conquest as you clear out the rag-tag remnants of the once mighty Kryon star fleet. Harvest rare planetary resources that you’ll need as you vie for control of the newly opened Iron Frontier. With over 2,000 unique star systems to exploit, you’ll have your hands full in finding, settling, and developing the right planets to maximally benefit your goals of galactic domination.
So I randomly got poked by the MegaWars PR guy on twitter and was turned onto their website, discovering the "mmo space empire building game" that apparently has been in existence since the 1970s. Apparently they're currently looking for beta testers so I figured Bay12 is probably interested, at least for the hijinks.

It's Real-time 2D combat with a browser game economy to build your ships; there is also a three faction system but I have no idea how that plays. The game lasts 30 days before a global reset. All told, the fact that it's a game from internet prehistory is the main reason I'm interested. I'll update the main post with more information as soon as I can get it.

Ah, I guess I'll have to see if the clan dojo has researched it yet. I can't seem to enter the dojo though. I have a clan key, but it says I'm not a high enough rank to enter without another person already in the dojo.

I am really glad I promoted you to Officer status today. I should probably also edit the ranks -_-

Spoiler: Smoke weed everyday (click to show/hide)

For me, I guess, the non-drug story about myself is this: I was resting on my failures until I realized that I was resting on my failures: it's secretly comfortable.

Life Advice / Re: I may have Asperger's.
« on: April 17, 2015, 11:11:42 pm »
If you want to label yourself as having Asperger's, go for it. If you don't, don't bother.

It took me 5 years after coming (back) to the US to be diagnosed with ADHD and identified possibly with SDD-NOS. Everywhere else, I'm just kinda weird. I guess what I'm trying to tell you (or anyone who needs to know this) is that don't let random strangers define you. Who you are IS who you are, and you're a lot more complex than a list of symptoms grouped together. The truth is that you have a variety of mutations in your DNA combined with the rather strange place and time we're living in that led to ancient traits coming out into the light in an interesting, unprecedented manner. There is a reason for it, because EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON.

Life Advice / Re: Love or crush?

My first crush was named Allison. I asked her out on a date and she said yes but then she realized it was a date (I guess idk) and backed out.

PROTIP: Don't make moves in the 4th and 5th grade. No one is ready for it.

Yeah... I've spent a lot of time reading into all that stuff... and it's left me with the impression that the vast majority of human beings truly do intend to be socially caring and just, but the functions which produce their actual perceptions and behaviors undermine that intention constantly.  But it's also left me with the belief that the structure and function of our society also exacerbates those natural flaws in every possible way.

The best thing we could do to make things better is educate everyone about these psychological shortcomings from an early age, because these mental quirks can be consciously adjusted for once one is equipped with the proper awareness of them.  But it seems to me like our education system, at least in the U.S., is much more effective at reinforcing them.

I agree with this.

I'll also add that that was what religion was supposed to do, but there are some obvious shortcomings.

The main problem is that by and large the system of governance has not changed in 12,000 years. What I mean to say is that while there has been a clear path of evolution of government, the underlying idea of government (hierarchical order) is a creation of War: Kings were appointed to a position above others because you need to focus like that in battle. It originated from the Chief-Among-Equals government that has remained in existence until now; the kings remained in power through means lost to the sands of time, and every non-tribal government has been some modification of this wartime government.

I suppose the Grand Illusion is this, and was pointed out quite obviously in 1984 among other works: There hasn't been worldwide peace since the dawn of "civilization:" everyone living under a state government has been living under martial law the entire time. It's the reason slavery still exists, it's the reason mercantilism-branded-as-capitalism still exists, it's the reason that we're killing ourselves (The Hopi call it the breaking of the Sacred Hoop and predict Armageddon should the Sacred Hoop not be restored)

We are animals. Quite intelligent animals, we're certainly (probably maybe) as intelligent as the rest of the intelligent animals on this planet. We're certainly the most knowledgeable animals on this planet, although some of our knowledge is best forgotten...

I suppose my conclusion is this: Existence is Alive. Non-Existence is Not Alive. Respect Being Alive.

I had a mustache. Not just any mustache too, a legendary, vogue for a thousand years bushy mustache that extended from my upper lip to cover my mouth. This mustache was massive. Beautiful. Absolutely the pinnacle of facial hair.

sounds dwarfy af

*twirls facial protuberance* why thank you.
