Either raid goblin or kabold forts, kill their archers (which isn't that easy).

But to earn alot of ammo, but is very sucidal, is to raid dwarf fortresses or elven forests.  There are alot of archers in those areas.

Actually, it's possible to get a nickname through reputation.

If you slaughter towns, elf forests, dwarf forts, etc, you get some sort of extended name (although, it might not follow you on how you dispatched them).

DF Adventure Mode Discussion / Re: most embarrassing death

The most embarrassing death I had was when a giant ripped off my pants and beated me to death with them...

Plus, it'd be neat if my wrestler could reasonably defend himself against undead/unstrangle-ables, without abusing throwing (which seems broken).

--What other things are known to affect fighting? (I'm betting size and fatigue are among them)

Thanks a lot!</STRONG>

1.  Both the wresting skill and strength improves unarmed combat.  Toughness improves your ability to resist damage and prevent pain.

2.  Size of a monster, does affect it in someway.  When you're a legendary wrestler, you can take down even the tallest monsters.

3.  Both the wrestling skill and agility affects the speed of wrestling.

4.  Agility affects dodging, as well as the combat preference "dodge away".

Now whenever I approach the town he's in, I get a welcome from him saying...

You can't buy them, you must hunt for them in Kobold or Goblin forts.

If you're suicidal, hunt for them in Dwarf Forts.

DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Re: Lots of questions.
« on: May 19, 2007, 07:07:00 am »
To get ore, you must look for a vein of it by digging deep into the mountain.  Make sure you have a ore or a very large mining stockpile.

I think someone could explain this better, also, did you look at the wiki?

Dwarves will always sleep every once in a while, but to prevent this, have plenty of alcohol.  But if really want your dwarves to stop sleeping, I think NOEMOTION and NOEXERT will do the trick.  If all-active is suppose to work, did you remember making a new world after you did the change?

To have dwarves do what you say, you have to set their jobs to that particular work.
Note:  The less skillful they are at the job, the longer it will take for them to complete it.  As they keep doing it, however, the more skillful they'll become at that job.

Doesn't work, when you mess with either of those, you cannot create a new world (the game freezes at the Age of Myth, Initializing part).

You can't stop goblins and/or kobolds from attacking you, I think it's hardcoded into the game.

Your character's a mace lord.

Did the country's previous lord get killed?

Does that mean if you have some UBER (human) adventurer, he'll die from old age after playing like over 80 years of Fortress mode?
