Hmm, selling off my store is actually a pretty decent idea.  I could buy a /much/ bigger food factory for that.  What's your loss when selling?  Like 10% of its build cost?

Runaway indie fan hits do sometimes lead to disastrous future games, it's true.  Like Knytt/Within a Deep Forest, versus the terribly unmemorable game that followed it that we were so excited for.

Totally withholding judgment until it's closer to release though.  But hey...Either way it will sell like hotcakes.

Code: [Select]
PC.Shoot(Bullets[MAX_BULLETS]);

Oh!  That's simple.  Bullets[MAX_BULLETS] refers to a specific entry in that array.  Bullets is a pointer to the stuff in the array, Bullets[something] isn't an array of size "something" but is instead something inside it.

I believe you want to just do PC_Shoot(Bullets)?  It's been a while but you should be able to make some sense of that at least <3

Or, to be more specific.  "Bullets" is a pointer to a pointer to a bullet.  "Bullets[MAX_BULLETS]" is a pointer to a bullet, and furthermore, it is just past the end of the array.  <3

Pointer shenanigans are the only thing I like about C++.

The exact error it gives is
Quote
no matching function for call to 'player::Shoot(bullet*&)'
candidates are: void player::Shoot(bullet**)

I may be able to help.  How are you calling it?

I don't know that you even can shut things down...

Man, I'm always amazed at the low Q that people sell level-1 ingredients for.  It's like...dude, we can all afford huge fields, it's the research we haven't had time for.  If we want to skip the cocoa bean step and refine the powder, at least let us buy Q10 beans.  If I wanted a billion Q0 ones I could just grow them myself, but I don't have R&D time for bumping them up :/

(On that note, I bet cocoa butter can move a LOT of volume on B2B if it's priced low enough.)

Use double cost, a 200mq store and adeguate advertising

Anoter interestig fact about manging your water supply: quality water is 0.03$ more, and gives a bit of quality to every kind fruit. The payoff even at modest levels are huge!

I bought 8m Q33 water last night for $0.20/unit.  You may commence your jealousy now <3

I'd suggest a perimeter of dawn totems around your home in 5 block intervals to hold back the surface taint, and then several more around the house to keep any subsurface taint at bay. Also Taint cannot spread to glass, I learned that by experimentation.
It can't spread to cobble, either.  But it does spread right past it.  I think it can spread within a certain distance by itself, skipping along the way...also, I think that tainted sheep spread taint when they graze (or just walk, who knows).

Note that taint spreads underground as well, but dawn totems (in sufficient numbers) can do serious damage to the ambient taint levels.
Go wild with the things inside the tainted area, drop a few hidden in the walls of your house and pray.
Also taint affects chunks, not individual blocks.
The surface taint affects blocks.  The taint level at the edges of the jungle are barely registering, it's like, 1/20 full or less.  Of course the levels are rising, maybe it's because it's a jungle full of horrible things now.

Screenshots please...
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Note that the taint level in these screenshots is only high in some chunks...mostly because it grew into them.

Yeah, sugar prices are going up and sugar quality is going down...I might need to start branching out a bit.  Don't wanna...

Dear god.  I had like 4M net worth today, and thought that since all my orders were on long timers and I hadn't sold anything recently, I might be able to put off the jump to level 5.

I now have a net worth in the 17M range.

WHY CAN'T I HOLD ALL THIS TAINT

Oh god

Oh GOD

So I started in this awesome jungle, next to a chasm, and my first action was to build a bridge over it.  Flash forwards a few RL days later, I'm wandering through this hugely tainted jungle far from home...and find my bridge.  D:

The whole chasm is overgrown.  The caves are starting to get overgrown.  Some of those caves lead to my house.  The jungle itself is full of HUGE trees and it's spreading everywhere; I've been setting the place on fire and it's not helping.  I built a retaining wall out of cobblestone and it ignored it.  I got a dawn totem and it's clearing, like...a five-square-wide area, it's not even holding back the tide.

I can see the tainted jungle from the roof of my house now...and I don't even have the view distance on the farthest setting.

I'm scared.  ;_;

I've found that with some goods you can move them on b2b even selling above the average store price.
Ingredients are good for that.  Q40 cocoa beans (for example)?  Yes please.

Well, you've seen my thoughts on B2B before.  But I recommend finding a solid supply chain that's good for B2B, and cramming /all/ your money into goods-per-hour.  It's better if your supply chain can branch out a bit to other goods, if your wholesale business falls out from under you, but my strategy is to just ram through on the strength of a single good.  A short supply chain (two levels) and cheap factories make this even better, but it might be hard to find a good setup for that.

Remember, if someone vastly undercuts your level-2 goods and you have to sell at half price...oh noes, you're still making almost half the same profits.  You'll be moody for a while, but your production capacity is still there, and a little research will get another project back up to the exact same speed you were at before.

Saturate the market in one good at a time, then branch out.  And don't be afraid of building delays, especially for your store!  If you have a massive project that's going to take 48 hours, just accept it and take the weekend off from the game.

I'd probably improve my R&D last.  Doubling your factory will double your profits, but doubling your R&D means you get a couple more tech levels into your one chosen good before you hit the same wall of "oh god, it takes HOW long to research the next level?".  It'll be more useful to you once you branch out your industries.

How much energy are we talking about here; enough that quantum effects might kick in?  Because I could imagine that over vast, vast, tremendously huge amounts of time...oh, a kalpa or two...you'd end up with the same energy in the system, but the ice crystals would be evenly distributed throughout the liquid water (with the same amount of crystallization bonds).  You'd kick in just enough energy from the quantum chaos, that energy would be taken out somewhere else, something melts, another thing freezes, the energy remains constant.

I just made 12 million by buying and reselling cheap apples :o

Bought a ton of em for $1 and sold them for $1.60. A bunch of people undercut me at $1, but they were high quality and someone came along and bought the lot of them after a few hours.

Oh man, JT martin is still climbing. How can a company worth a grand total of 1 million have a stock price giving it a market cap of 407 million? Does anyone actually think it's going to produce a profit in the future, or are they just hoping to make a quick buck off the market like I did earlier? The actual value of the stock when considering the company's assets is a mere 0.0018.

Maybe someone rich started that company, had an IPO, then bought a ton of their own stock.

That's what the 'oh wait' is for.  I've been getting a lot of my wishes lately.
