Personally I think the worst thing it (for now) did to me was to have a miner 'channel' a ramp and then happily stepping into the now filled-with-magma tile.

He was cremated.

I've added another spider, and removed the codes from the first post, as it was cluttering a bit, taking away a lot of time just scrolling through to find the right sections to edit.

I have moved the raws to DFFD.

I like spiders too, and I heartily approve of this.

I will probably want to roll this up into some of my mods as well, with your permission (and giving you all due credit, of course), as I'm going to want intelligent giant spiders in two of my planned civs.  (And vermin spiders that can be pets would be nice...)

Kor met his unfortunate end.

I decided to try and string up some sort of militia to test the system (I am never very combative.. I typically seal off the only exit using a two-chamber system. One with a depot that is always open, the other that is closed at all times unless to allow migrants in/trader out). This was very fortunate, because in the same hour Kor decided to pop up and scare some bucket-luggers filling a pond. One of them just happened to have a battle axe and cut off his head.

Nice. Just don't tell me it ended up in the water.

Oh dear, carp just became more Godlike then ever. Ooo ooo, what if we get a few skeletal carp now? What with the unkillable status of skeletal things... it could get interesting. Though as with most dwarven problems, applying magma is a option.
Not even magma can melt bones.
But it can make magma even more lethal. Why dump just magma on your opponents when you can dump magma and skeletal carp on your enemies?

Oh! Are we talking about the recipe to make Armok's blood?
Fill your pot with magma, add a pinch of skeletal carp, stir and voíla!

Alright, a version 0.1 released.

Changes; I realisticalized the spider bodies, (in quite a lot of detail), and modded the giant cave spiders some more.

They should now secrete digestion juices over live prey, although I am yet to test whether they actually do it.

Basically, I gave them a DROOL liquid as a LOCAL_CREATURE_MAT, then had them secrete it from the CHITIN layer of their maw-tongue, which has the body token TONM.  The raws are as follows:

I just found out that spiders don't have mandibles. They've got 'Chelicerae'. I'm reading up on those right now.
