Having an argument with my dad about money. He's insisting that it's ok for me to ask for anything and continue leeching off his work while being completely unable to accept that maybe I want to work and earn something for myself?

Like, here's a man who's been working for the past 40 years without stopping, from the moment he finished highschool, even when he retired, and he is unable to grasp the concept of someone not wanting the fruits of his labor but instead prefering to grow their own?

Artdump of a certain Sung Choul-Ham

Let's ignore the fact that there's hundreds of images there, just focus on how every single one of them has something cool or interesting going for them. I've been staring at this shit for a while now and I'm not anything approaching bored.

Asian artists people, asian artists, they make the world a slightly brighter place.

Thing is, the travellers are a sort of domestic other. Probably seen like gypsies are in these parts of europe, thieving beggars who are always out to get you (and while that may be true of certain individuals, most of them seem to be folks struggling to live under that stigma).

Wouldn't at all be suprised if those redditors are the irish equivalent of the basement dwelling armchair nazis in the US, big on online words but laughable idiots otherwise.

Yeah, I installed it for free on my phone. Could be a free weekend thing, I've snagged games like this before.

Not sure if it's been suggested before but Battleheart is a damn gem of a game. It's essentially real time squad tactics where you lead a party of up to four into combat encounters with various monsters. It's pretty simplistic and not particularly deep in terms of mechanics but the fights are short and engaging enough in that you micro your melee dudes to draw aggro and activate the various abilities each class has, focus fire particularly nasty enemies and the like. There's loot involved tho it's mostly low key stuff that you upgrade when you can and maybe fuss over the trinkets everyone can wear. There's leveling too, tho it's a fairly simple and configurable in terms of what active and passive skills you pick and it's there mostly so you can maybe tailor things for certain encounters or push a character further down an archetype.
And speaking of chars, there's a dozen of them maybe a bit more, most are variations on standard classes, so your Knight comes in regular, paladin and black flavours, each specializing in their own thing, like the paladin being beefy and being able to go down the healing and support tank or a more aggressive crowd clearing role.

Best of all tho, the game is actually free, in that it doesn't have microtransactions shoved down your throat, it doesn't have obnoxious ads nor does it require any data from you. Just install and play

Titan Quest got a new expansion.

Is this going to become a regular thing now? Making xpacs for 10 year old games?

I'm kinda hoping for that as well, organizing maps so you can easily find what you need is a pain in the ass. Tho I'm not sure how they're going to handle different rarities and stacking if they do make one. Tho even without that, just having a tier system in place would be a major improvement.

Factory farmed Amish blood, now there's a horrific but hillariously ironic concept.

New expansion announcement dropped, War for the Atlas

Basically the Shaper is fighting another eldritch entity over the control of the atlas, each doing their own messed up shit to it. Buncha new maps, some new skills, new items and cool item mods that come from the shaper and the elder thing itself (seems mostly like the new mods add support gem effects to socketed stuff, which might lead to some cool things and possibly reduce the value of 6l items).

Drops in about 20 days on the 8th.

Also there's two events running atm, turmoil and mayhem next week, got some cool rewards for reaching a certain level, but more than that, the fact that every area has random map-like mods applied makes it pretty damn entertaining, plus it seems that drop rates are super high (getting an exalt in 3 days after not getting one in 3 years :V). Turmoil lasts 'till tommorrow tho and it's the one that lets you keep whatever you get, mayhem is a bit too extreme and would likely crash the economy of standard for a long while so that one gets wiped on end.

Didn't expect them to be so damn huge for any sort of noticeable effect.

Maybe a radial one that gradually spins a thingy up and then lets go at a certain point? Sort of like a giant slingshot.

Tho really, it doesn't have to do the entire acceleration or even most of it. Just a bit of a starter boost to help the thingy along and save on size/weight/delta somewhat.

Do we know anything about the density of the atmosphere tho? 400mph winds aren't that dangerous if the atmosphere is thin enough (Mars being a good example of extreme winds that aren't as scary as they sound).

Also an idea occured to me. How about giant space railguns for long distance probes? You can have a controllable acceleration without having to load all the fuel needed for it on the ship itself. And since it's in space, size isn't that huge of an issue for the most part. I'm sure this isn't the first time someone thought of the idea, but I'm curious if it was ever considered seriously as a more efficent form of interplanetary launch system than just pure rocket power.

My main issue with the new layout is that they moved the navigation buttons (forward, back, refresh), so now I have to correct myself whenever I try to do any of those and look for the bastards in other places. The rest is more or less fine, I like that the drop down menu is an actual drop down menu, not a bunch of huge buttons with style over function.
