DF Dwarf Mode Discussion / Re: Goblin Ninjas

I think I remember a Goblin master thief straight-up decapitating one of my dwarfs when he was discovered before running off.

I think some of the confusion is coming from what pacifism means. Some people ,myself included, are taking the Paladin route as opposed to the Karate Monk. Bottom line is it cool to kill monsters?
Not really pacifism according to OP's post. That's just what most people in DF do anyway. Taking quests to kill monsters who knock over fences and whatnot.

Can vampires get tantrums? I think I read somewhere they are permanently happy.

Anyway, to protect against failed moods, can't you put your craft dwarf shops behind long weapon-trap protected corridors?
Then you'd need to keep coffins ready, but with a fortress of vampires you wouldn't really need to worry about needing more coffins than the maximum number of dwarfs in the fortress at any one time. They also don't need to eat or drink, but at some point they'll all become really slow from lack of alcohol.

I was sure that vampires could be unhappy though, I've heard of vampires tantruming behind walls too. Might have changed though.

Turn all of your dwarfs into vampires, wall off all the borders with statues so you will no longer get any more migrants, then wall your dwarfs off and you will never have to worry about anything again. That should work, but where would the fun in that be? I'm not sure if vampires even reproduce, so once everyone has had their fell mood the only thing that could kill your vampire dwarfs would be grudge-based tantrum spirals, which are harder to actually kill vampires than you would think if none of them are military.

So is this mod pretty much still compatible with the new version still?

Reminds me of my first time accidentally pressing the tab key. They grow up so fast. Pretty soon he'll be having catsplosions and piercing clown tents before he's prepared.

Just like in real life! Well, you can still go about your merry way, trying to bring about the Age of Emptiness.

Try to find a Necromancy tower first. If they won't be your friends, force them to be your friends even after death!

Put walls at the corners in the path of the cart. They'll turn instead of derailing.

Do this and if you want to use it against Invaders or Ambushers, place it by a new entrance into your fort(preferably closer to your dining room), forbid everything, and just leave a minecart on standby until it hits something stealthed. That might be a way to weaponize it. That or just turning it on when people siege you and aiming it at the entrance.

Surely you have quite the vampire problem... not enough vampires! Try dropping stones on the queen and then filling the room with water to make it a well. Then you won't ever have to worry about your dwarfs ending up killed by vampires!

I thought from the thread title that this would be similar to the "frozen in time" state that falling creatures could get from a rare bug. I actually can't tell if the OP is just humor, or if there is an actual discovery in there. Could someone please enlighten me?

The Undead never decay and can heal their own wounds so their bodies technically last forever..

Look at the silver lining! At least the weight didn't slow them down on their way to the siege, Corai!

Stick the grate in a noble's bedroom.

Whenever I see a possessed dwarf take over a craftsdwarf shop, I feel a small part of my sanity die. :I

So many useless trinkets.

So did the necromancer make zombies out of all the parts through the floor, or did you just have a huge pile of dead body parts with an open-air shaft above it that the Necromancer used?

Not at all. You can still rely on sieges and goblinite for Iron, or traders, unless you've completely sealed off the surface.

I take it you still need a Terrifying Biome to enact this scientific endeavor, right? At least you don't have to worry about any upset ghosts customers coming back and suing you, right?
