She can still use the other hand, just make sure she only holds one item in that hand.

I had almost all my body parts go yellow and red from a bear mauling, but they all healed except my hand and my foot. So now I can only use 1 thing at a time and I always crawl, I don't think I can beat enemies to oblivion with a crutch either.

It's a walking piece of solid sapphire, that's why.

I would assume weapon skill, as fighter is focused on melee attacks.

It could also be wealth-related, given kobold behavior.

I'm not sure if this was changed for the most recent update, but I couldn't believe I was encountering kobolds with steel crossbows and bolts.  That's never cool.
Technically, due to their theft behavior they could have access to any weapon that other species have.

Well, sure. I've been attacked when I had no companions. But my question is, are the number of attackers per ambush related to the number of companions you have? Because in my experience, it seems like it.
Assuming that your party's wealth is also tied in with yours and that kobolds attack because of how much you're worth, probably. Most of the time you will get attacked if you roam in or around kobold territory, as with goblins.

I've been attacked by kobolds when I only have 3 companions, although they were all using shitty copper items and cave spider silk clothes. Some thieves they are.

Got shot by a crossbowman and passed out, then was stabbed to death by the pikeman he was fighting.
Words of advice: If you had high dodging you could have jumped out of the way, if you had high shield skill you could have stopped the bolt by blocking it.

Well it doesn't really matter anymore, in the time it took to reply to this thread my adventurer has already been killed.
What killed him/her?

Buy something of equal value to your seperate stacks at a shop, then sell it back to the shop for the same price. The coins will automatically get stacked in the highest currency available.

Pulling out stuck projectiles causes pain and bleeding, speeding up the pass out process ususally. Just a note.

And, I do believe that companions can increase their skills in combat, like other people.

It only has nine seven heads, if you have a few decent axemen/swordsmen/dwarves you can cut off several heads very quickly. Fighting a hydra is mostly making sure it doesn't latch onto you with a head, as a hydra is obviously massive and can rip off some pretty big parts of your body.

I had a similar incident, apparently a "Wombat Brute" was captured by humans or something and taken prisoner, so I made him join my party since there were no other melee fighters and I hate range fighters. I thought he was shit, but when we get a simply massive ambush of goblins, with heavy losses on both sides and there I was, dying on the ground. A group of goblins charge towards me but lo and behold, the brute jumps out of a tree and has an epic slicing, arm-ripping bite, curbstomp and mach punch fest. The best part? He only had a copper slicing knife.

My creature mostly matched yours in appearance, it was a twisted creature with horns and a tail, along with various other parts.
