General Discussion / Re: AI Dungeon New Thread

I've found an amazing model and the things it generates are just awesome.

Its distracted me from uh... the usual AI art topics I do and I've just been genning this stuff all night.
Spoiler: Some neat stuff (click to show/hide)
All those are pretty good, presumably made better by the the quality, similarity, and focus of the training images, but it messes up sometimes even if you have an appropriate prompt.
Spoiler: Some mistakes (click to show/hide)

And the way it puts the titles in is bizzare. It clearly gets it on *some* level, and its legible and clearly related to the prompt/subject, but it also clearly doesn't understand it on some level as well given that most of the titles don't have proper words in them (eg. sand island, spanish -> SENNND SLLALLAND; HL SALD).
---
The ability to pick and choose different models is honestly super cool, and its one of the things I would be missing out on if I was just doing this on some individual site.

Got informed that if I accepted a quest to save a dude two waves would spawn.

I wasn't in the best position, but it seemed manageable and he had useful skills, so I accepted.

I get to the end of the quest... and two waves spawn at once.
Shit.
The first wave is impids, and 75% of my strength (since my tree pruner who had like 3 clawers died to plague) is my vampire who is afraid of fire.
Double shit.

Wait, they are from factions that are enemies! Aw yeah. Kill each other bitches.

I pop a few shots off, but I mostly let them fight to the death... at which point about two thirds of the impids remain.
They knock all my dudes but one out, and decide to kidnap my KOed dudes. They get one off the map. My last awake dude drops his gun and runs the final dude holding my vampire down on foot about five tiles from the exit.
I rescue him, and the rest of my knocked out dudes. Everyone aside from a kid I have is pretty badly injured, but my awake dude has fast clotting so he's 100% fit and ready to treat the other two. One is dead in a few hours, and the other is a vampire with a single bleeding wound (and a bunch of burn wounds).

Luckily they all get back in time, and the (lethal in 4 hours) wounds on my one dude are all bandaged and everyone is fine.
Well, except one tiny wound is left, at which point my doctor has a mental breakdown and slips into a coma.

I am then forced to watch over three days as the people with super tiny bleeding wounds that stop them from recovering just sit there unfed.
One starves to death, my vampire slips into a deathrest coma (because he is ya know, starving to death) and then finally my third dude who IS STILL IN A GODAMN COMA starves to death.

The child just sits around watching them slowly starve to death. Ugh.
---
Luckily everything in my new colony is going *much* smoother. The map is better, I got better luck with pawns, pretty much all my professions are filled, and things are just working out better in general.

I don't know about mage.space, but the ()/{} do matter depending on what site/webUI you are using.
The Novel AI website uses {} for emphasis with {dog} for instance having a emphasis of 1.05 and {{{dog}}} being 1.05^3=1.157
Stable diffusion uses () for emphasis with (dog) being 1.10 and (((dog))) being 1.1^3=1.33. [] is negative emphasis, with [dog] being 0.9

Since many people are using one of the two above most posts include some emphasis stuff.

Note that sometimes 1 emphasis isn't enough if what you are trying to get is particularly funky or conflicts with the picture you already have, and you want 2 or even 3 of them. Too many breaks the picture though, so watch out for that.

Below is an example of "cat hissing at dog" (done on Stable Diffusion using the NAI model) with different amounts of emphasis on dog. Note how the AI has a lot of difficulty with multiple focus objects and has them being the same thing.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Also here is an example of your prompt, but with different strengths of red eyes. As you can see once red eyes gets powerful enough funky things start to happen.
Quote
woman in armor, red eyes, 40k warhammer, sister of battle, (white haired bob cut), digital painting, correct hands, detailled, (cinematic lighting), dramatic, ((burning city in the background)), artstation, 4K, masterpiece, art by artgerm and greg rutkowski and alphonse mucha, holding sword in right hand
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
---
A minor note, apparently repeated negative tags don't really help and make the other negative tags less powerful, so

Should have worst quality, too many fingers, out of focus, and the second out of frame all removed at the minimum.

You can probably remove other duplicates too, but I'm not 100% sure on the what the mage.space model considers important so I'm not sure if you really need all those out of frames+cropped, ect.

The conservative subreddit's been weirdly self-reflective for the subreddit.

I mean, some comments going "Well clearly the country's fucked because people are too stupid to vote R" but a lot of people saying that they've fucked up with Roe vs Wade, they need better messaging, Trump's a dead weight, saying the election's stolen is bullshit and turns off voters...
It has brief periods of introspection, but give it a few days and anyone with self awareness will all be properly brainwashed or banned.

Anyone worried that the threat of winter may scare Ukraine into a premature surrender? I heard some disturbing rumors about Zelenski considering a deal with Putin and I assume it could only be due to things such as the threat of starvation and lack of heating due to destroyed infrastructure.
One of the big global problems with the war is that Ukraine is one of the major food exporters and they simply have a ton of food ready to sell. They aren't going to run out of food.

Heating will be a bigger issue, but that isn't nearly enough to break them.

I doubt the judges knew. They probably would have just failed him if they did.
I also disagree with the notion that he "just" put in a prompt. Doing this and refining the outputs takes hours. I would be very surprised if he spent less then 10 or 15 hours on this.

As for the rest?
Is it unfair? Evil and immoral? A sign that the dude is a scumbag?
Well those are all moral judgements left up to you.

Has any alliance of factions carried out an armed revolution, without the dominant faction killing off important leaders from the weaker factions after the revolution was won?
I imagine purge free revolutions were common in the past in countries with weak central leadership when killing off the weaker factions meant that you needed to send armies in to siege their castles over years for minimal gain or piss off all your loyal lords.

Because of that its clear that the way to prevent such purges is to start a nuclear war so that technology degrades far enough that everyone has castles again.

The 4chan /h/
:P
Dude just use the thread on /g/ or /vg/. Those are blue boards…
I don't use 4chan normally lol, so I have no clue what any of the boards are or that there were other threads about it on other boards (although of course there are). I just got directed to that thread from a reddit thread on AI image generation.
I uh... still don't want to link the other boards anyways, cause its *still* 4chan lol.

I set it up to run on my PC first, but its quite a bit more difficult and my GPU had some issues handling it so I just went over to cloud AI.
---
I've been running NovelAI using Stable Diffusion on a paperspace account for the last week which comes with some pretty beefy free machinery (GPU with 8GB VRAM) and super beefy stuff if you are willing to actually pay eight bucks a month (GPU with 16GB(!) VRAM). I paid, cause 8 bucks a month for unlimited generation and training is pretty sick.

It takes a bit of setup, but there is a very good guide and codebase that does all the heavy lifting for you. Still took me quite a few hours to figure out cause I have never used github before ect, but its easier then setting it up on your own computer as well as safer.

The 4chan /h/ Diffusion thread has a ton of very good very useful resources on everything from setting it up on your computer or the cloud to training and hypernetworks to simple image generation settings and inpainting. I won't link it cause its uh... 4chan on a porn board, but its worth a checkout.

The midjourney AI also seems really sick with a super neat style, but you can't get your own version of it so you have to pay a pretty hefty fee, so I haven't and likely won't use it.
---
Honestly, the stuff you can do, generating images that have never existed before according to your exact specifications on your own computer in minutes(!) or on the cloud like a professional AI learning specialist feels really powerful and intoxicating.

I predict the Alex Jones cases will only make the hatemongers smarter. They'll hide the money better so they can perfect and do more hate-mongering.

As for Alex himself, he has probably earned himself the sort of cash and services that will keep him from experiencing true poverty. His insight is probably considered valuable enough that he won't just be abandoned, but will probably be an advisor and/or spokesman for the next generation of hatemongers.

Hopefully, someone can find some criminal charges with which to threaten Mr. Jones. That is the only real deterrent for him personally.  This would require Texas to decide they're done with his bullshit. It's not as unlikely as it might initially seem: Bad press can get old.
Jones is a pretty extreme outlier amongst republican "personalities", so most of them don't really have anything to fear from this.
The reason for this is that he broke a shitload of rules which is the only reason he's getting any punishment at all for this.
1) He's the person who made it all up. As long as you have another source to blame it on (eg. Alex Jones said, I found this random article on the internet) you will be fine.
2) He targeted private individuals who don't have any place in public life. Calling Clinton a child molester? Just fine, no trouble at all.
3) He left the shield of politics behind. Its one thing to target left wing/right wing people. Its another to target super super clear victims like this who everyone supports.
4) He just kept doing it for years and years like the energizer bunny.
5) It was a case where there was absolutely no ambiguity, controversy, or actual evidence at all. It was also not vague (eg. blaming "the Jews") and very clearly targeted a few individuals.

Its actually pretty hard to do all five at once.
Like all the actually vaguely political stuff? Safe. Hurling completely unfounded shit at politicians you don't like? Safe.
Blatantly lying only to retract it the next day in a three second "opps, I messed up"? Safe.
Saying the exact same shit as Jones for a few weeks while explicitly saying you are just repeating what Jones said? Bloody safe.

So yeah, even other nutzo's don't have much to fear here.

Holy shit. I saw a picture that was allegedly AI generated, immediately went to downvote it because no way was it AI generated.

But no, it simply *is* that good. A lot of the stuff I found is was just flat out AI generated anime stuff that I can't tell at *all* from real anime stuff. Sure, the stuff I saw was obviously the cream of the cream of the crop that people spent hours generating, but the fact that I can't tell at all for some of them is mind boggling. (Also a lot of the new innovation over the last week or two is due to the Novel AI program leak, which Ima try out shortly myself).

A bunch of it is really good and contains crazy details. I mean, its *been* good for a while, but this stuff is a complete game changer.

Doing it well obviously requires you to learn some stuff and put in some work, but its many OOM easier then spending years and years learning how to draw art.

Obviously given time normal artists will use it as a tool to make great art much easier and quicker, but "anyone can make real art without a real time investment" is going to be a seismic shift in art that's gunna cause a shitload of problems for them as well.

I would share some links of these pictures, but uh... the proof thread I found was on 4chan and thus not exactly something to share here.

Downstairs neighbors started to renovate their apartment. Expected duration is a month and a half, most of the work being done in the morning and early afternoon, generally working hours for most people so the disturbance isn't great.

Except for me who works two night shifts every week and gets to enjoy being woken up multiple times by hammering and fucking drilling after an exhausting night. And I still have a month to go :V
Get a fan or white noise machine and run it loud next to your bed, get some earplugs ready to put on when you get woken up in the morning, and have a pillow ready to stick over your head.

Obviously even those steps won't cut out 100% of the sound, but it should help.

I think I lasted like 10 mins into the movie. But then again I wasnt high so maybe I was in a less appretiative mood
Nah, being high made it worse. I was honestly astounded at how terrible I thought it was.
Anyway, the basic plot of Love and Thunder sounds good to me and I do like both Taika Waititi and Christian Bale. But I can't muster enough interest to borrow the DVD from the library and then hit play.
The basic plot sounds fine sure, but the movie itself is actually a disjointed trash heap.
Obviously some people enjoyed it, but it was so bad. Note that its rating (by real humans) on rotten tomatoes is the same as the Eternals, another panned movie but one that I actually liked more. (Which also was not very good).

Got high and watched the first ~40 minutes of Thor Love and Thunder.
I was like "this whole thing is complete shit and a disjointed mess" but then I went "maybe I would like it more or follow it more if I wasn't high".

And the answer to that was yes, but only a tiny bit. Its still shit. I ended up caring about pretty much nothing that happened in the entire movie.
