General Discussion / Re: Geert Wilders

Seriously what does QFT mean? (apart Quantum field theory obviously)

For this whole "freedom of speech" thing.
Forumsdwarf I understand that you'd like that it is what these war are about.
Unfortunately, I have to point out that it have never been part of the US agenda.
For one, US is a strong ally of the Saudi Arabia, the motor behind the spreading of radical Islam.
Taliban? Inspired by Saudi Arabia. Al Qaida Yes, from Saudi Arabia. Islamist popaganda in the Magerb, Saudi Arabia.
In Tunisian blog, the main complain about America, apart of his support to Israel, is his support to Saudi Arabia, and thus to radical Islam.

Another point is : none of the government appointed or allied to the American in the "war on terror" enforce free speech.
Pakistan? Nope. current Iraki government? Nope. Current Afghan government? So corrupt even US is cutting on aid.

This is a war for domination, not freedom. if you side with the US, you can ge away with almost everything (exept wasting their money apparently)

It depend of course. Some additive are dangerous, bu less so than refined sugar and saturated fat.
As for genetically engineered plant, it's like nuclear energy, lot of potential (but nothing to do with world hunger who have mostly political causes) but lot of potential for massive disaster unless regulated correctly. I support th European decision to ban them for now.

"It's a difficult job" is no excuse for fucking it up.
and it's not a particularly stressful situation that is shown on the video.
When you know what a policeman have to go through, I find it difficult to believe that the felt treathened.
I think it was deliberate, to dissuade further protest. I also think they gave the black block all the latitude they needed to give the other protesters a bad name.

First point : mainstream Islam is not for censorship, and Usa doesn't make war for freedom of speech. Actually, the puppet  government they use to try to have a tiny bit of legitimacy are strongly authoritarian and not the least bit concerned about human right.

Second point, the fact that one of the expert (not one of the militant) is a nazi collector doesn't even prove that he is antisemitic.
And that is one case, in one organization. Beside his conclusion has been validated by other expert. Burning civilian with white phosphorus for nor reason is a must bigger crime than censoring piglet.

third point: You don't even make sense . Why would pen need backup from something weaker.
What you're saying is "pen is weaker than the sword and need it to protect it". And that prove you've understood nothing about the saying.

The more I think about it, the more I'm uneasy about it : why did he call you directly? If you're under 16 he should have called your mother first. Even if you're older, It seems like the right think to do: call your mother first, let her know that he is taking contact. Does he have a restraining order?

He may be after money, too.
It has been said, but I'll say i again : be extremely cautious .
And if you're in a good relationship with your mother, tell her about him. Especially if you're going to meet him, so that she will know where you are. And that's twice as true if you're a girl.

Yeah, but someone, somewhere, has the money, and is lending it to you.

Probably in China, they own a lot of US debts.

Actually, you don't have to have the money to lend it.

Did he apologize? Else chance are he didn't change.
Take care, alcoholic, violent and abusive isn't exactly the profile of someone that will amend himself.

We need to make a mercantilists of bay12 thread.
Just change the title of this thread. Not that it matters much. Most countries are making far less money than they spend. (Lookin at you, National Debt.)
To be fair, the money has to be coming from somewhere.

No, that's the magic of the financial system. Lending money that doesn't exist.

No actually, you cannot win this terror war.
And I say terror war because it's a war were both side use terror to try to batter his opponent into submission.

As for Israel internal policy, let's say that each and every human right movement are condemning it.

But I will let you in your dream world were you "fight the good war" on the "bad guys".

« on: July 04, 2010, 03:07:42 pm »
To go back on topic, I re-read the definition of capitalism, and I want to remind everyone involved that it only imply the private property of the means of production.

Taxes and most of the things we discussed can be an addition.

1)I for one, don't think that a non-regulated market can ensure that the economy will stay healthy.
I a for the capitalism, but I think it need artificial constraints to stay healthy.

2)I'd also like to point out that some services, very beneficial to he society (police, defense, social care, education, and non immediately bankable research for instance) cannot be funded through usual capitalism, and so should be publicly funded.

Edit: Reformulation of point 1) enterprises corporation and poeple will use every available mean to maximize their profit in a capitalist system. It's up to the government to say which mean are legal, and which are not, and to enforce that system.

no it doesn't and he proof is : we get our drugs cheaper.
Jimmy, do you know the condition required to get unbiased competition?
Do you know that optimization is only guaranteed when these condition are met.
And almost none of these conditions are met in this case.
