It's over. It's impossible to get past it. Our only choice is to abandon it. Maybe we shall try somewhere else, but I hold little hope.


Sorry guys, but there is absolutely NO WAY to get past it. You need at least two layers of soil to get past it, and we can only use one. Consider this thread, dead.

It's decided. If the fort makes it to me before we need to reclaim, I'm devoting massive efforts to making everyone happier. Unless this tantrum spiral is delt with by then. Then I go about building the tower up.... I can hardly wait....

It's been so long since I last wrote. The project to breach the aquifer has taken longer than anticipated. We've had more migrants, And are up to 20 now. We're completely out of booze now, though. The caravan arrived, and we were ready to trade everything for the booze they had. One. Freaking. Barrel. In rage, the broker ripped down the depot, goods spilling everywhere. I need to have a talk with him. later. for now, we take their goods to our stockpiles. let's hope there's more drink than they told us...
I must get back to work on the aqueduct... no time to draw now.

My fort. If has an aquifer. I tried plugging it, failed. tried pumping it. failed. what now? I'm working on a new system that dumps the water off the map, but.... is there a better way?

My hut is completed. No sooner had the last plank been laid, but Migrants show up! Here! In this insignificant heap!
We now have two metal smiths, to work with all of the metals, locked within the stone, that's trapped behind the aquifer. I shall make a quick tally of the fortress now.

In four months, we have almost doubled in size! think of what we could do in a year!
Tomorrow, we begin on an attempt to breach the aquifer. Emily, my fellow miner, has carved up some wooden screw pump parts for the project. here's to hope.

Keep in mind that you could also give it more "strength" with additions to it's bite. Ex: a Bunny that does one hit kil... Someone must make that bunny. with speed:0.

For the love of Sined! There is an Aquifer here, and none of us posses the knowledge to get past it. Emily suggested we make some sort of stopper to block up the aquifer and dig through, but all of your attempts have failed. For now, we have decided to set up a small camp on the surface, until we can devise a way to get past it.
I am currently telling the dwarves to build temporary shelters above the ground, similar to the humans. the grumbled mildly at this, and set to work. I myself have always felt an odd connection to the humans, though most at the fort disagree. In other news, Matuin spotted some elephants migrating across the landscape! I trembled at the thought, as I have heard stories of great fortresses brought to ashes by the behemoths, but we must endure. I myself have always had a finer taste than most dwarves, and I see the finer qualities of Raw adamantine than nigh on all dwarves! I'm tired now, and have no energy to draw anything today. I shall now sleep, and dream of dwarven wheat flour.

We have arrived! No sooner do we stop for a rest, but one of the farmers spots a leopard! I hope the dogs can deal with that. None the less, I'll begin scouting immediately.

Here is my sketch of the area around the wagon. I need to work on my drawing skills.

I'd love to join, but one thing: Why an aquifer? To be honest I've never played with one, as I've avoided them like the plague since I started playing DF (The wiki told me to!)

Two reasons:
1)Challenge
2)Finding a tropical forest without one was as hard as adamantine.

Yeah, I hate them too, but there are ways to avoid them.... I hope they work now.... Also, it will provide water for the dorfs.

Ancientanger!

Today, A new page of Dwarven history will be carved! Strike the earth!

(Note: This is my first Comm-uni-tay Fort, so bear with me.)
First, of course, I'll need 6 5 4 Young meatbags to join me, but also...
I want you guys to decide where we will embark.
Tundra? Desert? Jungle? A town? A Fortress?
I'm leaning for Jungle, with the Elephants, but It's up to you guys.

Forget it, I found the spot.
