Half the stuff you ate for lunch probably wasn't very normal for human biology either.

The gag where there's a tiny angel and devil on one's shoulders acting as one's conscious, but instead of the angel it's just a bigger, meaner devil.

A big majority of all US towns is like the same 20 big brands you're going to encounter everywhere and they're generally gonna look the same everywhere as well.  And they're all going to hug the same 4+ lane stroad bisecting the entire town.  And like a quarter of the landscape is parking lot.

Like driving from Virginia to Indiana I must have encountered a dollar general in every single town and they all look alike.

You might get something out of historical districts of some towns, or the main downtown of major cities, but the rest simply isn't that noteworthy.

I am a bit biased tho, Northern VA is very rich relative to the rest of the country, so most major US cities I've actually visited look rather grimy and run down by comparison.

Hey what's the deal with youtubers, instead of the usual TV censor beep, find the most obnoxious jarring sound imaginable and then swear like 8 times so you hear the censor sound that's louder than the rest of the video over n over again.

I do like the Fiber One bars as a lazy breakfast.  The Quest bars are pretty good but regardless of which flavor you picked it's the same texture.

I'd say just jamming a big can of beans is a bit... drastic?  My dad makes big pots of chili that make up my bean intake, its got several bean types with ground beef, good bit of spice.  Problem is I spend a whole pack of crackers to spoon it with like dip, so it's far too many calories.  Prep wise sure it's involved but you can fridge/freeze half for another meal later.  It took me a long while but that chili taught me beans ain't so bad.

Also beans, I tried a vegetable soup for the first time, real chunky one that had beans.  One of those microwave bowl ones so you can probably pull it off.  Good "made-my-day" stuff, like a craving I wasn't quite aware of, probably from too many lunches of diet shakes.

Asian style stir fries were also a big vegetable source as a kid, and from what I understand not too hard, just a big wok/pan and a rice cooker.  Then again, a lot of Asian supermarkets here for whatever reason which probably helps.

Doesn't that just mean they need to respect marriage license (gay or otherwise) of other states, but you still can't become gay married in that state?

Honestly repubs keep doing the culture war crap because the alternative would be to actually govern and solve real problems.

When they either forget not say the quiet part out loud, or no longer feel the need to hide it...

Thing is, even if you regard your brain/body not being matched as some form of 'mental disability', we already have legal and political agreement down in the books that society should accommodate others with mental and physical disabilities. There's already legal obligation to sure public buildings are wheel chair accessible, to not discriminate against people with Down's Syndrome. So even if you regard being transgender as some form of mental disability, then that doesn't change their being an obligation to accommodate, which means...allowing them to live as their 'preferred gender'.

Also mental disability is measured in distress and harm caused to the person with it, and treatment is about doing things to reduce or remove that distress. Since we already know 'conversion therapy' doesn't work for that and is instead just horribly abusive and cruel, that just leaves accommodation which is the approach proven to reduce the distress/harm.

So even by their professed 'logic', 'eradicating transgender' doesn't fit. Trying to present it in those terms is just a transparent attempt to mask their own hatred and prejudice, not that this wasn't already obvious.
once trans people are "dealt with" disabled people aren't going to be that far away on the list of "undesirables" to be handled next.

The aliens did everything and humans are to stupid to do anything on their own is a stupid theory and I'm not sure why people believe it.
Y'know its really strange how the aliens only came and helped non-european civs.

When you say “shit doesn’t change”, what is it that’s not changing?

You're just going to tell me to try again and expect better results.

One could argue that no vehicles work in the Apocalypse newer than 1978 due to the lack of Electronics in the Wasteland...
Car Wars's timeline branches off of the 70's oil crisis, basically the gas shortage never really ended.  Followed by a mass grain blight that eventually leads to the end of civilization as we know it, basically city-state fortress towns surrounded by vaguely more mad-max countryside.  The actual bulk of the game is focused on car combat as a sport; apparently somebody took a 50 cal into a demolition derby and the rest they say was history.  Actual civilized living isn't that bad for what it is, and the overall aesthetic is much cleaner than a mad max, most cars look more purpose built than scrap cobbled together.

So actually its more common for cars to be electric in the setting, in fact gas engines came later in the rules.  Electric being cheaper and faster in top speed, but heavy and slow acceleration.  Computers are in that "CRT future" where they're quite powerful but still very bulky.

Really the core reason cars act like 70s 80s cars is simply because the book was written back then, and they didn't really try to guess how cars would perform better "now."

I just watch people get worse and worse every year, meanwhile everyone around me doesn't believe they objectively treat me worse than my other coworkers or make stupid excuses for people being shitty to me.

Frankly in a few years expect me dead.  Off a bridge or a bullet or whatever, maybe they'll finally let me.  You've been selling me the "things will get better" lie my entire life and it just doesn't.  I can put in alllll the effort in the world, shit don't change.

165
You just have to take a second and listen

Most of the people I deal with cannot do this.  Main characters don't close their mouth and listen.  They'll literally ask a question and just start talking more when I try to answer them.  Doubly so if what I'm supposed to tell them contradicts their little reality bubble.

Your voice is not your height - you can work on it.

Bullshit, they'll just mad that now I'm too loud and sound angry.  I've been trying to play this stupid game for decades.

Also you want to lecture me about "being an adult" when these "adults" verbally abuse me every day over petty social bullshit they make up just because they can't be content without something to be mad at.
