ITHESE EDITS ARE GETTING SILLY: Started a new game. Started it off by getting my founder sentenced to jail for 26 years. Next, I walked over to the crack house, unarmed, and punched a teenager. Then, I held down 's'. The teenager was unable to hit me, and I got some free dodge skill. Holding down 'f' instead showed that I was likewise unable to damage the teenager. I managed to outrun the page full of gang members with 4 street sense. Also, it seems that I now own the crack house. ???


The only real change there seems to be that the accuracy for melee attacks has been nerfed? Which would be weird.

What I'm saying is that converting high level sleepers depends too much on the RNG. It isn't a consistent system... RNG kicks in for how many days before kidnapping is reported, RNG for successful rolls...
 
This is like an Infinity +1 Sword (look up tvtropes)... that depends on 1 critical lucky roll of the dice.
 
Usually, big rewards in games should be connected to effort or skill or such.
 
And random results should be associated with "large sample population" so that everything evens out in the end.
 
I feel that getting sleepers via interrogation is rather random, all in all. The best way to get a radio personality sleeper consistently is to kidnap 5 of them, and use the same method on all 5... you'll probably get 2-3 of them as sleepers.
 
Being able to only kidnap 1 CEO is rather harsh in terms of luck dependancy, IMHO.

Get a publishing company too! (hire lots of writer types for the liberal guardian). Those firemen will come... I got raided by them twice in my recent game, before free speech became more liberal.
If free speech isn't C++ in your game anymore, I think you've missed your chance.

Thanks! I may do some custom layouts for other sites. Along with the new map, there's also a new special -- and the CEO character can only be encountered through that special. The idea is to have a persistent, named CEO that, once killed or converted, never appears again. But if you do turn him into a sleeper, he's 100% infiltration, 20 times as powerful as a normal sleeper agent on business issues, and can embezzle $50,000 each month. In other words, if you can convert him, you've got the business related issues locked up.

Right now, there is no special bonuses for just killing him or recruiting him normally, but I'd like to make it a big one-time hit to the corporate issues if you kill him, and make mercenary raids stop if you take him out, regardless of how you do it.

Sounds like worship to the RNG to me!
 
So, basically, if you kidnap him, then it's up to the RNG whether you get an UBER sleeper who solves all your business issues and money problems... OR, you get a mediocre recruit? ... and this exercise is a one time thing only? So, essentially, it's like flipping a coin?
 
Er. Something doesn't sound right to me. Too much luck dependant and results too significant.
 
Also, AFAIK, in RL, companies do not go without CEOs forever... if a CEO dies, they elect a new one. Shouldn't take more than a few months.

I'm thinking a C+ free speech levels, writing to the newspaper/guardian should be highly dangerous, perhaps even at Hacker levels and you risk being raided by firemen who'll burn you up!!  :o

This *is* already part of the game. Trying playing nightmare mode.

Hmm. I got both of those when I beat up the Ministry of Love/ Intelligence Agency. I guess torture makes sense what with CIA interrogation and stuff. And the CIA has close ties to military spending?

Oh. Duur.... I know what escape is. It's espace that confused me.

What usually happens is I have to form over 10 squads, just so I can equip them with assault rifles. Then I'm surprised when 9 squads are disbanded after the battle.

Anyhow, also, my hackers and writers draw heat and are illegal type people as well, so I gotta keep up separate from my legit crowd. Or rather, when the writers print national secrets, EVERYONE in that base gets accused of treason.

Anyhow, I do fight off the conservatives, and it disbands my squads, except for my 1st squad. Try it. If you have 10 squads, after a base defence you'll only have 1 squad left.

After shooting up garment makers, courts, police station... barely moved 2%
But I shot up the downtown apartments... and it went up like 30%. So, I'm sorted.

Now, how to make torture and military spending high?

Normally, I don't have to do anything, this issue moves by itself. Unfortunatly, this game, I was playing with martial artists who beat up everything bare handed, now gun control is only 40%, and I run around shooting people, but gun control still isn't moving up. How do I change this?

Make it stop disbanding squads after a successful base defence?

Oh, also, I would like an option to stop the grindiness of recruiting. Option: quick recruitment on.
Effect: You meet a liberal musician. Talk. Options: a. talk about issues, b. dating, c. don't talk, d. talk about issues, then find 5 other liberal musicians and talk about issues to them.
 
That would reduce a LOT of grind! AARGH. When I am trying to hire authors, it's especially bad.
 
Of course, only make this available in public areas, when no one is suspicious.

Other than canine heroes and Agents, who do you guys use as your fighting force? My problem is I don't currently HAVE a decent fighting force... can't find many worthwhile people, just hiring stacks of hippies, slaves, and sweatshop workers, and hoping the RNG gives me something decent. OUCH.
