A target selection during combat. My liberals have the bad habit of shooting the college student while fighting the security guards

It's a carryover from obliette I think?
Anyhow, you think that's bad? How about when your liberal accidentally shoots at the green secretary instead of shooting that red security guard?

Lasers? Which weapons change into that?

At what age do they start dying off from old age?

And 2100? Did you still have your original founder then, or anyone from the early levels? That's 91 years after the LCS founded! So cool!

heh. If you accidentally talk to like 20 people, you lose a few of them. Big whoop. (IIRC you can safely talk to 8-10 people, no problem... and I don't see why you would need to do so)
If you accidentally try to seduce 20 people in 1 day, you will almost definitely be ambushed by them.
And 20x -5 = -100 juice. That's a pretty stiff penalty/downside!

Really, I only ever encounter praguepride's problem when I am starting a new game... at that point, my founder can hire 6 people, so talking to more than 10 in 1 day is quite a good idea.
Other than that though, I don't even understand why you are getting the "double booked" message. Why do you talk to so many people anyway?

Racial Discrimination
C+: People are employed by their own merits without the need to adhere to arbitrary restrictions.
L+: Anti-discrimination has made it so non-whites are more likely to get jobs they are not qualified for due to fear of discrimination charges.
L++: Anti-discrimination laws are so strict that it actually discriminates against white people.

Er... actually, your L++ would be C++...
Think of Africa and it's apartheid system at one point. It discriminated against the population majority, the blacks.

Discrimination is discrimination. You can't have anti-discrimination laws that wrap back around to negative numbers. That's just silly.

Malaysia is C++ lol, we have discrimination laws in place to protect the malay majority! yes, companies, by law, must hire a certain number of malay workers, large companies must have at least 1 malay company director, etc etc etc.

Curses / Oldest LCS member?
« on: March 03, 2010, 09:16:43 pm »
I managed to get 1 LCS member to 76 years old... 2060 I believe. What about you guys? What's the oldest you've managed to have anyone? Can people die of old age in this game? Has anyone gone up past 2100 to spaceball bats and such?

How does promotion work, anyway?

Second, persausion should be less grindy if there's such a huge penalty associated with "over-talking". Maybe if you gained more then .01 persausion per person talked to it wouldn't seem so imperitive to talk to as many people as possible.

Maybe something like INT + JUICE LEVEL + PERSAUSION - WOUNDS = approximate # of people per day

Agreed on persuasion being too grindy. Talking to people also grind law, science, religion, so it's really really grindy. Ech.

Hah. So, someone with 9 int and 9 pers could talkto to 18 people a day? +/-
That's very much higher than current levels. Currently, it's probably "safe" to talk to 5 people a day. Anyhow, with recruitment caps so low, why do you WANT to talk to 18 people a day? Just to grind up persuasion and skills?

Seduction, even with 14 seduction skill, you can be ambushed for dating 2 people at once. The safe number is ONE PERSON at a time.

From that point of view, with a soft limit of 1 for dating, a soft limit of 5 for persuasion seems ok...

It took me a while to get used to the system. (a few weeks of in-game time?) but once I got used to it, I was fine. Just STOP TALKING TO PEOPLE for no reason.

Ah. Oh dear. This means that the founder and 2nd tier of command are VERY important and should probably not do anything which will land them with criminal records? Sigh. Ok...

Shouldn't you put this under the "Things to fix or do in the next release " thread? ... well, I'll leave it  to you or coronel or jon to shift this over or not.

Anyhow, recruitment through persuasion is very very "grindy" at the moment. It has shifted from "talk to many many people in 1 day" to "talk to 5 people a day... for many many days". Same dif, but just spread over time.

but, praguepride.... you're doing it wrong.

#1. Basically, the current system, if you have been talking to a couple of hanging judges and carefully nurturing them... STOP talking about issues with homeless guys! Problem solved. Basically, if you already have a few guys who you badly want to recruit, you're supposed to stop recruiting new guys.

#2. I don't get the problem of getting people to look away if you want to steal... I just move 1 step left, then 1 step right. Done. However I have talked to greenies just before I open fire and shoot up a bunce of reds.

#3. Yeah, it's a bit frustrating when this happens. But, again, it can be said it's your own fault for "talk"ing to so many people. Heck, if you find this bad, "seduction" should be killing you. I get frustrated when my person with 14 seduction gets ambushed for trying to date 2 people at once. And TWO people is very very easy to do by accident, since you can date 1 person on Monday and have them "see you tomorrow" then you forget about it and press "seduce" on Tuesday.

Currently, it's not so much illogical and frustrating. It's UNFORGIVING. The current system, as long as you don't do something that "breaks the rules", you won't get in trouble.

Basically, as long as each recruiter does not "talk" to more than 1-2 people a day, or if you talk to 5 people on 1 day, you don't talk to anymore people at all until those 5 are dealt with, you should be fine.

Sometimes when I play, someone in the upper echelon of LCS will die/be jailed. This starts a chain reaction that knocks off a LOT of members who were recruited under him, who were recruited under them, who were recruited under them... or just as bad, seduced.

Anyhow, isn't there some way to avoid this occuring? Does juice or heart protect them from this? Is it a 100 juice minimum like how someone can take over a founder?

The reason is just because there's only one CEO and it's a big house;

So big it warps time and space? I met 2 CEOs at once during one of my encounters...

And don't forget you can take over the CCS safehouses too! So, all in all, a LOT of possible safehouses. That's a total of... 14 I think. Not enough? There's not that many raid sites around ya know...

BTW, how do you take over the crackhouses?

OH! I have a suggestion for the CCS Safehouses!

When raiding the CCS, I suggest to change the system. Place a "use" tool in the base called "CCS Leadaer". Question: will the squad challenge the Vigilante Boss? When they press yes, use the genetics lab code to have the CCS boss and a random number of helpers appear and fight you. Killing them will beat off the CCS in that safehouse.

Message when you "use":
First safehouse: "You challenge the leader of the CCS!
2nd: I will not be so easy as our former leader.
3rd: Knowing he is the last hope of the CCS, "name" prepares to give it his all!

For Nightmare mode though...
2nd Safehouse: "name" stands up. "I'm back," he says. (you fight a cyborg version of him with +5 strength, agility, health, -5 heart, wisdom, charisma)
3rd: A horrible stench envelops you as the rotting corpse of "name" attacks you! (a joke how the manual says resurrection and necromancy is conservative). (+15 strength and health, -10 to all other stats)

What the hey? How'd you get dodging so high?
And how'd you get your sword skill up without violent action?

MOAR MOAR MOAR MOAR EDIT: Ok, won the game. That was way easier than I thought. My leader had initially stats and skills fit for a lawyer, recruited hippies to the cap and had them write for the Guardian. Then he sprayed graffiti, and whenever caught, defended himself in the court. He also financed all operations by selling portaits. In the end he had about 200 juice. Possibly the weakest leader I've ever had, but ah, still so strong! Perhaps I should try again in conservative nightmare mode. Death squads can be a problem though.

How did you get your leader to 200 juice? Don't legal actions have a juice cap of 50 or something?
