I'm shutting down too many sites... trying to train up 1 pistol squad and 1 sword squad. An Assault Rifle squad is being planned too. Oh dear. What happens if I shut down the entire city? I'll have nowhere to go except the commercial district and hospitals? That seems like a bad idea... Any idea how to train these guys up without shutting down so many sites?

9 mm pistol round has a mass of about 8 grams and a velocity of 358 m/s. That's about 512 Joules.
I can't find sword swinging statistics, but I'm guessing it's around 2kg with velocity 30m/s. 900 Joules.

So I'm guessing rifles and shotguns have higher energy than swords.

I like factories for my new AK47-packin' people (AR15 is also good initially). The worst you're going to get there are nonunion workers, armed only with chains (they're still potentially deadly). Then once your guys are a bit tougher, go to the Cable/AM radio, kill people there, wait for the angry mob to arrive and slaughter them (they're probably the worst conservative response there is).

If you do this, however, know that you'll be raided at some point. This is why you buy booby traps and other upgrades for all your safehouses - if you get raided, you kill the people trapped (usually enough to fend them off) and move to another safehouse. You'll even get fancy military armor this way.

EDIT: By factories, I mean the non-garment maker ones. Garment makers has armed security guards.
But I seemed to have to face armed security guards at the aluminium factory? Or is that only because it is currently on high security alert?

I think I'm doing something wrong. I'm trying to train up some weapon squads, whose task will be to infiltrate conservative sites and rack up body counts and such. Unfortunatly, my LCS members do not seem to be much better at fighting than the conservative swine. I must be doing something wrong, but what? What is the easiest way to level up my guys in Pistol? How about swords, guitar and assault rifles?

I've experienced it. AFAIK, it seems to have something to do with not having 6 members to form a squad with. I think if you have 0 or 1 members, the game tries to "fill out" your squad by pulling names from the list of LCS members, and it just goes from the top of the list to the bottom of the list. So if your list is only 1 name long, the same name gets pulled 6 times.

Save, replays and experementation are for people who have played LCS over and over and want something different.

For me, I'm still in the "playing for fun" stage... I played LCS a few times many years ago, won the game twice or so. DLed again recently and boy did the changes radically effect gameplay. Juice? Guitar squads? Dating? (yeah, I last played really long ago). Still haven't won the game as of picking it up again. Had a few squads die and disband and such.

Basically, getting distracted from "normal gameplay" at this point would ruin my gaming experience. I'll get all technical and stuff later on, once I've beaten the game a few times...

I'm actually surprised that this issue hasn't come up before now. I think in Real Life, before someone robs a bank or something, the first thing they do is get a mask. There's no need for a high level of complexity right now... just balance masks as VERY suspicious, and give them a 75% chance of letting the crimes not be pinned on you. Or some % chance anyhow.

Well, anyhow, my point still stands. No, wait, let me modify it:

a) Game is winnable. Once you figure out *how* to win it, then any challenge is "easy".
b) Game is unwinnable.
c) Game depends on luck to win. You are at the mercy of RNG.

So, I think Kay12 will always find the challenges to be too easy....
