Oh, ok. Thanks.
So, basically, if you have 4 sleeper judges (like I do in my current game), and you manage to abolish the death penalty, in the event that your founder gets a life sentence, just attempt a jailbreak... then surrender to the first cop that crosses your path instead of fighting your way out.
a) Found guilty of jailbreak. Repeat above until you get result b).
b) Found innocent. Profit!

Is that basically what I can expect to occur?

I have no issues with how it currently works. I ask purely because the wiki doesn't have it, and LCS does NOT encourage experimentation and finding things out through trial and error! (no save and reload function, so if you screw up, you've lost hours and hours of gameplay and perhaps near unique successes). In other words, I ask purely so I won't accidentally do something which makes my current game in a horrible position or something.
The current incarnation of the game is great fun. Thanks mate!

Oh. Erm, realistically, no, a burst of assault rifle bullets will cause rather ridiculous damage. It's hard to compare, because a direct hit from an assault rifle and a direct hit from a sword will kill you, and you can't take more damage than being dead, right? Of course, it all depends on weapon calibre for bullets. For example, elephant guns, well, kill elephants. Which swords can't really do. I believe that assault rifles can also punch through brick walls, which I doubt that most swords can do.

Hmm... as for masks. SHOULD they be implemented as some form of disguise? Or is that just too much effort to code? I don't think it'd be that bad... just code it so that crimes committed while wearing a mask are not recorded onto the list of crimes, unless caught by cops at the site itself.

Yeah... sounds right. If I'm going to be part of a team about to launch a kidnapping, AND I want to walk around town normally for the next month, it stands to reason I would wear a mask to hide my identity, right?

Eh. So what happens? David X gets tried for Murder, sentenced to Lifetime Jail... then we bust him out of prison, killing a bunch of cops on the way... then we get the safehouse raided a few times, escalating into the national guard... then I suppose sooner or later we surrender?
Best case scenario is that we win in the courts and everyone goes free.... except David X I suppose? Erm. What I mean is, does busting him out of jail mean that his previous Lifetime Jail sentence no longer applies? (I haven't tried it... don't blame me! There is no save and reload function in this game, so it that makes experimentation and testing a big no-no!)
I mean, in real life, if someone was in jail and somehow escapes, he get's tossed right back into jail when he's caught, right?
What happens in this case?
So, what happens to David X if he is found innocent of escaping prison charge?

mmm... ok. The thing is, are swords really that overpowered compared to pistols or SMGS or guitars? No? Then why do they have the huge disadvantage of concealability, in gameplay balance terms? ... From a logical standpoint, IIRC they can conceal swords under trenchcoats in movies like Blade and such. Hibino Hareluya can conceal baseball bats in the back of his shirt...
So, what is the use of masks? And Togas?

Er.
I come from Malaysia.

C++: Unions are considered illegal gatherings, and as such, any union gathering would be considered against the law, leading to everyone being arrested and beaten.

OK, I'm exagerating. But basically, in Malaysia, WE DON'T HAVE UNIONS. Because Unions are NOT ALLOWED TO EXIST.

You guys and your "unions are restricted" blah blah blah. Just follow real life examples. There are in fact many countries that are so conservative that Unions are basically non-existant. To us, C union laws: "Unions can be negotiated with on equal footing." is a huge joke. That is a C? hahahaha. To us, a union existing is a dream. Someone who tried to form a union would be put in jail for being a threat to national peace. (I'm serious... IIRC it has happened before)

So:
C+: Laws are in place to discourage unions being formed, protecting free trade.
L+: Labour unions regularly force companies to go out of business, due to ridiculous wages and employee benefits.

This is also Real Life example... look at General Motors.

This is an idea I've had. Some of you might not like it, for the reason that it would make the game easier, but I think it'd be a cool feature.

I think there should be ways to change your character's identity. Like, fake documents, or hacking CIA records, or plastic surgery, or all of the above.
I'm not sure, but I think that this happen in real life.

So, anyhow, you've just broken a high ranking LCS member out of jail. Probably had to kill dozens of conservative swine on the way out too. So now everyone has huge heat and the national guard is after you.

Any way of actually keeping your man out of jail? Or does it end up that the situation just continues escalating more and more until your squad is either wiped out or you accumulate a lot of sleepers and disband the LCS and wait for win condition? Or do you just leave them in jail to rot?
My point is that currently, there is not all that much motivation for rescuing an LCS member from jail. I think that currently, you're better off just leaving them there and ignoring their absence.
I think there should be some way of resetting their rap sheet, cleaning their slate. Or at least make it so that the police stop chasing him!

Not bad, not bad.

Though, it would be nice if you put more detailed descriptions of the games there, so people would know what they're about...

From what I can tell of the way the game works... there are 2 possibilities for specific challenges:

a)There is a list of actions that will win you the game. Perform these actions and repeat ad nauseum.
b) There is no way to win the game.

Thus, there is very little "Easy" or "Hard" to challenges. Either they are winnable, or they are not winnable.

This is why some people love combat and fighting so much. It really adds a huge level of randomness to the game. It's actually "false difficulty" as explained on TVTropes, but whatever.
But anyhow, my point is, either you create a challenge which pits you at the mercy of the random number generator... or you create a challenge which is a "puzzle". If you create a puzzle, then the only challenge is figuring out the solution... once you have done that, the actual implementation of this solution is fairly easy.

Well, thanks for replying, but i knew that basic stuff already... besides, clothes are easy to figure out. Basically, try on X clothing, and see if it comes out red, green or yellow in the blank squares, then the marked squares. Anyhow, it's on the wiki.

WEAPONS though are a different cup of tea altogether, since they can apparently be influenced by both location and by clothing.

I repeat... is it possible to weild swords without drawing undue attention?

Also, are pistols *ALWAYS* concealable? Or are they only exposed when your character is naked?
Do masks fulfil any function? I mean, do they actually make your character not get crimes added to their record if they escape the site or something? (I mean, like a robber wearing a ski mask or something)
Also, do masks count as clothes? Or does your squad march in wearing a mask on their face but no pants or shirt?

BTW, don't Ghandhi followers use music to sway people to their cause. Admittedly, yes, Guitar squads would make the challenge too easy, but it fits the FLAVOUR, doesn't it?

Also, I'm not sure if Ghandhi would allow his followers to perform grafitti. IIRC he didn't believe in DP.

Right, got it. Converting someone = no juice change.
BEING converted = either juice loss or wisdom gain.

Curses / What disguises fit where?
« on: February 19, 2010, 01:23:56 pm »
Well, I would love to have a full list of which disguises fit where, specifically WEAPONS, but I will make do with a short question:

1. Is there any way not to have swords noticed and screamed at? Trenchcoats did not seem to work, despite claims that they work for shotguns and such. Why is this?
2. Is it my imagination or are pistols concealable anywhere?

Also, if you can't conceal swords, what use are sword squads? To march into a Conservative area, hack a few people to death, then leave?

Curses / Re: Disguise? But... I work here!
« on: February 18, 2010, 05:07:31 pm »
Yeah, I still think that someone would have a disguise advantage if they used to work at that place. I mean, someone would know how to "fit in" and not look suspicious if they had spent every day of their lives there, right?

ANYHOW.... hmm... generally, I want my regular members to do close to what sleepers do. BUT, regular members can do it much more effectively, most of the time. For instance, once I take a lawyer as a love slave. My choice is send him to the courthouse as a sleeper, and have him spread liberalism a little, look for secrets, embezzle cash.... OR I can form him into a one man squad, and once he has trained up his disguise and security stats, he can steal thousands worth of stuff per DAY, obtain secret files every day, tamper with the jury, his actions will sway public opinion... he is basically worth 10 sleepers, right? Or am I wrong?

There's a thread where they say that sleepers are overpowered or something. Hmm... In my opinion, no, not really. Sleepers are actually much, MUCH weaker than regular members, in a squad. The only difference is, regular LCS require player interaction. Sleepers are automated bots.

1. PHEW! Cause the wiki at http://lcs.wikidot.com/juice lists a -50 juice for converting Conservative. That is a rather large penalty!
Oh, wait. Or do they mean that the other way around? -50 for BEING converted?

Another few questions:

1. Does converting enemies with Guitar skills raise juice or lower it?
2. Can Guitar attack alienate the masses?
3. Do guitar attacks still give you a murder rap?
