General Discussion / Re: Bicycling.
« on: August 22, 2010, 04:49:29 pm »
I usually use my bike when travelling about, mainly because I can't drive a car worth a crap. And it's fun.

My bike is a... I'm not sure what "kind" of bike it is. It's not a racing bike, I'm not sure if it's a mountain bike. It's just... a bike. I always keep it in the highest gear since switching gears can sometimes cause the chain to jam, and at any other gear, it just feels like too much work to get any speed(plus, the extra effort to accelarate is good excercise).

Other Games / Re: Fishing
« on: August 22, 2010, 04:41:21 pm »
Breath of Fire 3 has a pretty awesome fishing side-game. The main game has nothing whatsoever to do with fishing and if you were to play the game without taking an interest in fishing then the only reason to play it would be to catch the uber merchant fish 'Manilow' (IIRC). The fishing game is good though, there are a variety of floater/sinker/things and tons of fish. It's well worth a try
BoFIV for that matter, had an awesome fishing game, that took into account location, bait, and rod(for casting range and line durability, at least). It had a very large(close to 100, I think) variety of fish(granted, most of them were palette-swapped, but still quite a few), and almost every single one of them could be used as an item, many could be traded to certain shops for items, or you could just sell them for cash(making it, technically, "commercial" fishing ;)). One of the game's "Masters", who you could have your characters train under to gain skills and stat bonuses, requires fishing to train under(note: that particular Master gives rare items, not skills, as rewards). Even after catching every single fish in the game, including the largest size for quite a few of them, I still hadn't reached the third goal for him.

The series had a super-capitalist fish-race called the Manillo, so that might be what you're talking about.

Have you declared a capital yet? That might be why it's not showing up on the 3D map. Also check an make sure if you're not looking for "Empire of Lenses" when you've got "The Empire of Lenses" or vice-versa. But it's most likely not having declared a capital.

To declare a capital, build a Capitol building in a city, use the F12 Policy menu, and click on "Declare this city to be the empire capital". It'll warn you that you should have ship-building capabilities before declaring, since once declared, people can declare war on you(but most won't bother with a new empire).

Play With Your Buddies / Let's Play Digimon World - BLIND
« on: August 22, 2010, 03:35:55 pm »
Let's Play Digimon World, blind! Blind as in not knowing what the hell we are getting into.

From first look, Digimon World is an RPG set in the Digimon universe. Digimon, short for Digital Monsters, come from the Digital World, a parallel universe created as a side effect of the existence of the internet. In this game, you play as <insert name here>(we're going with "Akura" by the way), a young boy in central Japan, where the Digimon Battle Game is as popular as... the Digimon Battle Game was in Japan when it came out ::), but gets sucked into the Digital World and tasked with saving File City. This is presumably done by taming and training a variety of Digimon.

So let's get started...

(sorry about the hard-to-read text, the emulator I'm using doesn't have a built-in screenshot function, and PrntScrn only works in windowed mode, which goes pretty slow on even a relatively small screen size. Might need a new emulator here :-\)
The game starts off by introducing us to Jijimon, who I assume is supposed to be the old, wise, asshole who sends us on our involuntary quest to save the (Digital) world. He starts by asking a series of questions:

"Do you have a Digivice?" - In the anime, the Digivice is sort of a link between the Digidestined human and their Digimon partner.

"Do you have any friends?" - A friend is a...

"What is your name?" - Again, we're going with Akura for this.

And...

We get to name our Digimon! Limited to 6 letters, so Gabumon(the one we get) doesn't actually fit.

Similar thoughts.
Schedule: Art class, Farm work, Adventure in North(Mountains) with hopes of getting extremely lucky and finding a katana like the original Shinkicker. Run from any fights with hopes of finding more loot.
The only real luck involved is not getting killed on the way to it. And it's not that much luck involved.

Other Games / Re: Stalker Series
« on: August 22, 2010, 09:15:47 am »
Then again, in CS, the first time you meet the military, the open up a machinegun on you, just because you're a stalker(which isn't right, you're a mercenary who works for stalkers sometimes).

Of course, I got back at them. Snuck in from behind, took them by surprise. Gathered all the guns and excess ammo, stashed them on a corpse, and hauled it all the way to the trader. Sidorivich didn't care there was a little blood on it all. Brings new meaning to the term "body bag".

There were several Grand Theft Auto games between GTA3 and GTA4.

STALKER 2?

That doesn't make sense to me, wouldn't that be Call of Pripyat?
Clear Sky, I think, although CS was supposed to be a prequel.

No matter how well this turns out, I doubt you'll be able to top this one.

Go ahead, prove me wrong. I'll be watching.

Doesn't the Detroit PD have Robocop?

If Julia is the incest baby of Alvis and Diedre, wouldn't she have major Loptousou blood? Her status screen doesn't show it.

Just letting you guys know that I'm new recruiting for my empire, the basement kitty meowment. It's a silly cat themed empire that, despise being only me, is doing alright.

PM me or check the Armok Coalition forum for more info.
Isn't there already a cat-based empire?
