Idea that I might have to go away and look at in more detail...

Neutrinos moving faster than c... according to relativity, wouldnt this make thier mass a lot more than it "should be"? If so, does this make them possibly contribute to dark matter? Probably not all of it, but still, there is a lot of them out there.

Or even give you the answers to questions you hadnt even asked yet, meaning that then to prevent the unverse dissapearing up its own asshole you would have to ask a question specifically to get the answer you had already been given. Techincally, this means that the machine would be controlling the unvierse, and I for one welcome our new FTL machine overlords.

The whole dock event confused me, so im just sticking to meddling with the armorforge assault...

Karl reached the stopped lift on the floors below the ones he had trashed in the upper tower. In the lift was a badly wounded ArmorForge guard. He was having difficulty breathing, and spluttered one last message before his death: "They... they are.... are heading for the alCOUGHSPLUTTER...".

Karl turned to the window that formed the wall of the elevator lobby - the lower and squatter section building it overlooked seemed to be the focus of the ongoing firefights. Trashing the remaining floors of this block would probably be of little consequence if the really good stuff was in the lower sections of the main body of the building. Suddenly the infrasound boom of a large explosion pulsed through the fabric of the high towerblock he was in, and bursts of fresh gunfire resumed down below. Militia members poured towards the main body of the building.  A few supers appeared to be holding them off at the main entrance, and Karl could make out a few heading into the building. As he watched the development of the fight Karl decided that the building itself just didnt look right. It somehow looked like it was straining to be a different shape, and in places looked "flexed". Whatever was going on in there was doing a better job of compromizing the research of ArmorForge than Karl could do. The growing mass of sludge that appeared to be feeding on whatever it touched, growing out of windows and the odd air vent seemed like something he should really keep his suit out of.

On the roof a number of Supers appeared to be keeping some twisted form busy in combat - they did appear to be getting the better of it, but the inactivity of looking over the fight was killing Karl. Curiousity began to get the better of self preservation, and Karl decided that being over there to offer "assistance" in bringing the rooftop skirmish before heading into the lower levels presented an opportunity to find out what ArmorForge had been up to that his controllers would no doubt appreciate.

The leap to the lower roof wasnt that far away or that far down after all... without even really thinking about it, Karl took a short run up, and charged at the window. Leaping as he hit it, Karl sailed over the 40 meter wide gap, falling the 20 meters or so down to the scene of the skirmish, rolling as he landed, not quite as elegantly as he had hoped. Karl stood to see a young super appearing to impale the demonic figure, struggling on the end of 6 tentacles.

"Perfect timing" thought Karl, as he fired several hundred anti personnel flechettes at the clearly distressed Demon for a range that would tear apart any orgainc creature...

Yea, the key is in "appears" to move at FTL. Someone will give an explanation, even if it will be beyond pretty much everyone, myself (Physicist) included. Wouldnt suprise me if it involved a refinement to either relativity or quantum mechanics.

Karl headed down from the roof through a hardly used roof access door - it has been padlocked, but 400 kg of cyborg can deliver a hefty shoulder charge. This action set off a few security alarms, but its not as if that mattered while large scale firefights involving a dragon were going on at street level. At the foot of the first stairwell here was a CCTV camera which Karl crushed with his good hand. Leaving the dark stairwell at the first landing, Karl found himself in a well lit but deserted corridor, offices and small scale labs lining the corridor. Karl systematically worked his way through each room, riddling filing cabinets with incendiary rounds, and computers with HE shells. Smoke from burning paperwork set off a freon fire estingusher system. The suits closed cycle life support was not troubled by this, and switching to IR allowed Karl to see throughthe dense clouds. One room contained a server bank - no doubt the data was backed up elsewhere, but trashing it would be fun and still slightly disruptive. Several bursts of AP rounds tore through the servers, leaving a sparking mess. A sign in a staff rest area said "Please leave this area as you would expect to find it", so Karl had a chuckle to himself as he left it in perfect condition. A lift at the opposite end of the corridor was stuck 4 levels below the floor Karl was on - presumably stopped when the fire control system kicked in. Karl headed back to the stairwell and repeated the systematic chaos on the next three floors before heading to the floor with the stuck lift on it...

What I read on the BBC news website today about the execution of Tony Davis and the legal cases that led to it made me feel sick to the pit of my stomach. Whoever calls such a mess "Justice" must have a radically different worldveiw to the one I hold.

The chopper Karl was riding in stopped to a hover above a cluster of tall buildings near the edge of the Armorforge compound. Karl picked up something remarkable over the radio chatter as he waited to jump - one of the pilots remarked "Well would you look at that...."... Out of a window Karl could see what appeared to be a dragon, with a group of militia running in panic from it. "Great" thought Karl, "mythical beasts".

The confusion caused by the appearance of a giant fire breathing lizard was too good to miss. Karl ordered the pilot to get closer to the rooftops, and jumped the last 25 meters , landing with a light roll onto a deserted rooftop overlooking the whole Armorforge compound. Sporadic gunfire could be heared in the middle distance, along with panicked cires of "its a fucking dragon....". His local intel display was not much help - the whole situation on the ground was confused, with various supers apparently on the scene, a number of seperate "cultist" militia, Armorforge mercs and various law enforement units. No doubt some more shady supers had not yet shown thier face.

"Best not hang about..." thought Karl as he turned to look for a way down into the buildings.

After an eventless evac flight back to the base, Karl took his armour off with assistance form the techs who focussed thier efforts on the machine interface implants. He was sure they would really enjoy giving all the mechanical joints a deep clean over the next few hours.

After getting a short few hours sleep, Karl logged on to a data terminal. News reports were coming in of some unusual militia group leading an assault on the ArmourForce HQ. Karl was well aware that his controllers disliked ArmourForce (and the makers of the Buster Suits for that matter) - whilst both rival products werent quite up to the level of tech of the suit he wore (most noticably in the cybernetic interfaces his suit had), they represented a threat to the level of superiourity Karl could deliver in a combat situation. Karl himself bore a personal ill will to Booster One - some young hotshot who wasnt half the soldier he was, in a suit not as advanced as his, who was getting rich and famous without putting his neck on the line in the same way that Karl did with nobody finding out. Granted, Booster One had a degree of freedom Karl could only wish for - a degree of freedom Karl would gladly trade all the man/machine interface tech he had wired into him for.

The orders that came in were hardly suprising.

Explot ongoing incident at ArmourForce HQ. Avoid confrontation with forces engaged in conflict. Infiltrate via rooftop insertion and look to compromise thier R+D capacity.

The familiar routine of meshing with the suit seemed to take less time than usual, and before he knew it Karl was high above the city in a chinook again...

AFAIK some tanks are road legal in the UK... and the best bit is they are exempt from the congestion charges in London and Manchester. Having difficulty getting into work? Too fat to fit in a supermini? Buy an Army Surplus Scorpion and beat that traffic...

So Venus becomes a giant brothel/love in?

Yea, insignias on shoulder plating, which I had invisaged as a red to contrast the gun metal black/grey... these would be a standard sgt. 3 stripes, most probably with an icon/image to represent weapon specialist.

As for colour contrast, the body plates would be darker, with knee/elbow joints having a more polished feel to them, and possibly the same for hand/feet... a little black/off black stippling for camo effect would be cool... with compulsory menacing red LED effects here and there on the weapon system/faceplate...
