I'm half of the opinion 'something' is going to happen. Like the enemies will teleport behind us or something will bust through the wall like the kool-aid man. Or we're being delayed on purpose, while something happens cinematic wise.

I just can't see any way this resolves normally without dragging a bit.

Does anyone else feel we could handle this whole series of turns at one go?

It's pretty much gonna be 2-4 turns if I don't get koed or miss. And I'm getting healed in between. And there's just not much else for anyone else to do. It's extremely straight forward.

I just wanna get past this already. Rather than having the game stall out in this stupid hallway!

Unless something else is going to happen we don't know about.

618
Right, I really hope the enemies just attack me anyway. Otherwise we get like four turns of nobody doing anything except me attacking and people healing me. If they attack I could take them out faster, unless they take me out, then lol add another turn. I'm wishing we could fast forward this particular bit.

Or is there some element of the battle we are missing? It seems intentional that this is slowing us down, maybe for something else to happen?

Somebody investigate the banners, I bet there is switches behind them!

In other other news, I realized the T-Knights have this.

Quote
Character Specific Skill: Ignis: (Skl+luc chance of adding half mag to damage).

So their score combined is 14, and it adds from 4-5 damage, depending on round up or down. How does this ability work? It seems that they roll an extra d100 and if they get lower then 14 it procs and one shots me no how matter much HP I have? Because why not.

In other news, I found this.

I dunno if anyone likes these sorts of DS remixes, but...

Enjoy!

Edited my post. This will be a weird battle, since no one can attack. :P

622
Right, I'll move into position, but I won't attack this turn.

If they try to hit me, I can take at least one attack I suppose, and I'll likely hit back for alot-my crit trait activates if they put me to low HP.

623
Right, but attacking seems suicidal to me, personally. The only way I do any damage is to take lethal retaliatory damage in turn.

I do 15 damage to them, and they go down to 13/25, and they hit me down to 2/22. OK

But due to the narrow corridor, I don't think anyone can knock them out the rest of the way before they, presumably, strike me back on the next turn and finish me off. Do I just spend the next turns playing Tubthumping? :P

Luck thief! Tho I got a good roll to...

Btw, is anyone better equipped to attack these Knight than me? I wanna follow Sercons lead in, but Iris is only good at tanking magic attacks.

I think she's going to get one shot again if she tries. I can't tell because I have no idea what all these numbers mean. *whistle*

Iris moved into position, but held her stance, weaving a defensive form into her easel-as if inviting the enemy to attack her. Oh, dancing with oblivion was always dangerous...but it could give her great power...

She also slipped on her foolish ring-a minor frippery, no more-and felt the river of darkness surge. They would regret attacking her.

"Perhaps I will finally find some inspiration here..."

Action: Once Ariston has moved, go to K24 and DO NOTHING
Put on the fools ring, OFC

Ariston to K-24.

"Damon, vanguard with me. Iris, if you please, get ready to back us up; that heavy armor ahead of us doesn't seem like it will do much good against your power."

"Rusted metal and rotted leather. No match for my skills." She said confidently, moving her hands and feet in a rapid martial movement-she made a duelists challenge to her foes, arms and legs set apart-momentarily lighting the hallway with a complicated pattern of cold light and burning shadow.

Alain reappears by Ariston's side, as if anyone would ask, she would say she had been foraging while everyone else was busy.

"I always thought these towers had different layouts in them. This feels the same like any other tower! But the statues look so lifelike. Anyway, how have you all been doing?" she said, walking behind one of the statues and imitating its pose. . .

L-24, prepare for ambushing.

Iris paused by the other statue, momentarily mimicking Alains own mimicry of the other statue.

"Doesn't this one look a bit like me? How pretty." Iris said airily.

Action: M23, and investigate the cloaked state on the right hand side of the hallway

Sounds fine to me.

I guess it works. Not my first choice, but she was brave enough to accept a painting. :P

"Admitting that you don't know anything is the first step to resolving the Ninetail Paradox and achieving enlightenment!" She said to Damon, approvingly.

Granted, that was probably the easiest step.

"Oh, I'm just being silly. It's never really been proven that the spirit actually can reincarnate after hmm, dismissal? But if you look at the edges of a living soul like I can, you do see...patterns. Perhaps teeth, like a key, or the tiny etchings on a metal file. Each soul is different, touched by the life its lived. An older person tends to look much more like a cheese grater. But you, Ariston, have many more notches than someone of your age would ever have, much more than even Sacha over there...It's been thought that the more bevels, or notches, a spirit has, the more lives it could have lived and died in-spans of untold generations each leaving the smallest marks we can find, some darker or lighter than others. Your soul looks like it's been through the wringer a few times. Or maybe you've just lived one life with the span of many, many ordinary experiences

We used to call the concept the Great Wheel of Fire-a great burning thing endlessly milling the same spirit, over and over, burning you up, then reconstructing you-only to be burned again, then renewed. I suppose it's optimistic, right?"
She honestly wasn't sure if it was.

"We're still cooking, it's just the ingredients are a bit more exotic. Just another form of my art, really...if you're interested in a lecture, I could tell you all about the spirit celestial! It's how artists of my profession see your soul, in terms we can put into words.

A spirit is generally arrayed in three measures-terms of relative light produced by your actions, with darkness being the natural state, the four seasons (both physical and metaphorical), and the seven, nine, and four point universal confluence matrix of law, chaos, neutrality, good and evil. Some of my order also rated souls on steps toward enlightenment-the ninetail paradox. You can also read fragment lines in ones aura etch to determine roughly, how many turns of the Great Fire Wheel one has suffered through in a manifold of positive and negative state spiritual reincarnations.

My particular art is combining all these measures into a visual medium."

She paused to stir her cup with a blast of pink light.

"Looking at the piece of soul Ariston gave to me, he must have liked riding the Great Fire Wheel a bit too much." She said mysteriously.
