Can't the person being picked up interact with the flyer via 'f' key? I thought that was still a thing. You may have to look at the flyer. I did it a couple patches ago to exchange items while in the air.

Disconnects are the leading cause of death in Ark.

You don't want to spend the next 12 hours taming a bronto?

Archaeopteryx has a silly animation while you're holding it. I wish it was just on your shoulder like all the other little animals. It's forever, wings outstretched, above you as you hold onto its legs. It keeps that pose even when you're mounted on another dino, even a flyer. The Archaeopteryx is trying to hold everything aloft. It's a pain to find, though. It's so small and I've seen it latch on to a redwood and just disappear under the skin of the redwood.

With ping what are the chances it will work? I dunno.

It's a gravity drive. It uses gravity blocks and mass blocks.

I have a box with doors on top of my house for dropping in friends with an argentavis.

It does seem a little strange that consumers are growing to accept that an incomplete game on release is an acceptable state of affairs.

It isn't that big of a stretch. Games have come out needing patches for awhile. Then kickstarter gave people a taste after demos became rare. It was gradual. Sudden shifts are less acceptable unless there's a monopoly.

Thanks. I'll always take a hug.  :) Writing that blog for me was one of the first steps to me properly dealing with it. Getting this game out the door would help quite a bit too. Whatever game I make next is going to be 100X simpler.

Yeah I actually took an offer to go have free lodgings in Greece for a month from July to August. Had to get a laptop and work on the game whilst I was away, but it put me in a lot better place.

That said getting back to work hasn't been fun. Had to lay off my artist today - the Steam review changes murdered our score and we'll never be able to claw back up in time for our next big October release that I needed to bring in funds. (I was hoping that poking our crowdfunders could take us up to 50-60% in the reviews.) Its annoying as we're well into designing and scripting the campaign and the voice over work was going to be really awesome and transform the game, now it will have to wait.

On the plus side I managed to turn Valves change into a bit of PR for us at least. Most of the games press were interested in my angry thoughts on the matter.

Gaming press always wants a sob story or something for grabbing eyes. Some really want to hear about fascinating failures in the gaming industry because they don't get to hear much on the inside of dev studios. They mostly just see an end product. The real stories from inside grab them and grab readers.

Keep old credit cards around. They help in prying apart electronics with clips inside.

They do not make it easy to mine, which just makes them frustrating because mining early on is slow enough. They are merely there to grief you early game.

Don't forget about being an endless waste of ammo!

The Notch school of software design. Grief players in a construction game for no reason. As if players themselves wouldn't do it to each other enough.

Quite a lot on a laptop. Less of an issue since my desktop just got upgraded.

You never mentioned that you were using mods.

Which ones, out of curiosity?

I am remiss! The only mod running is ecoRPDecor. This adds a variety of optional décor- think furniture, wall mounts, and market stalls- to let you breathe a little life into your settlement. Nothing mechanic changing. :)

Another gig for ARK? :/
