You're using the word because you are a fool who wants to sound smart, I'm talking about the guy who made up the term and his ilk.

I assumed by Tech Overlords you meant capitalists, not the companies.  (Isn't it clear I'm talking about people in my response?  Sorry if not)

Yeah Apple produces computer devices, or close enough.  The company does the inventing, production, and marketing.  Specifically employees do all that, and the company pays them a fraction of the value of their work.  It then passes reliable ever-increasing profits to the capitalists who put up the original capital.  Those capitalists and CEOs, who I would call Tech Overlords, did not produce anything (though I again acknowledge their importance under capitalism).

Also ... I'm not sure I understand where the conversation is going? It sounds like venting, not any kind of practical approach to anything...
Whether we call it techno-feudalism or an inevitable result of unrestricted capitalism (IMO it's obviously both),

When you say "it's obviously both", though, you fail to see that the people who want to call it feudalism is doing that so that their holy capitalism-on-a-hill can remain pure and blame free and so it isn't actually a failure of capitalism but a failure of attaining the Perfect State of Capitalism in which this would never happen. Hence capitalist denialism.

The "passive and active" "killed/died" voice thing is one that while I understand it in theory very often seems a little "read-too-much-into-it" forced to me, at least when "died" is used in context of a sentence that reveals that it was somebody who killed them (ie the difference between "three died during concert" and "three died in fight" – my assumption of the first isn't that they were killed, but for the second it is the default assumption because of the context). But I may be influenced by how in Swedish, the word (or rather its direct cognate I guess) die is not just something a person does themselves but directly tied to killing – we say that "he deaded him" when we say "he killed him" for example.

I'd call it capitalism. There is no difference between this and for example the company towns of old. These are consequences of liberalist politics and capitalist economics.

That Doctorow fella only writes about what Yanis says and I've read things by Yanis before – and all they come down to is weasly capitalist "no true capitalism" denial and "durr hurr dark age bad". He's using the term feudalism not because it has anything to do with actual feudalism but because it's has bad vibes of tyranny an primitivity. But the truth is that the tyranny of capitalism is emphatically worse than the tyranny of feudalism was; One of the first legal trends in Europe after the end of feudalism and the beginning of the reign of liberalism was the mass repeal of laws and customs from feudal age or older tribal customs which protected the common man and provided a meagre "social safety net" in order to make people destitute and force them to work under horrible conditions for unliveable wages.

Capitalism isn't morphing into anything. It's just capitalism being capitalism.

>.> I am hardly a know nothing, and I'd call what late-stage capitalism is morphing into that. What was feudalism but an economic system where a handful of people owned everything and rented it to everyone else until people finally got sick of it and murdered them (justly!) which opened up room for alternatives?

You claim you're not a know-nothing, but this is your idea of what feudalism was and you proudly showcase how you just recently – at what, age 40+? – learned that medieval people didn't like being filthy. You are a walking example of the "how loudly they speak to how little they know" correlation.

Technofeudalism is absolutely a thing

Nah, it's just what some know-nothings calls capitalism because "durr dark age medieval bad" and has nothing to do with feudalism.

I'm with you GO. Male pattern baldness is a terrible curse, I'd say its the number one proof that the garden of Eden story is true
Pain in the arse being a trans woman with it though. It wouldn't be so much of a problem if women got it too, but right now I might as well have TRANS shaved into my hair.

I'm hoping this works, if not it's wigs and trying to save up for a hair transplant.

It's absolutely a complete pain in the arse for cis men too, I assure you, it's the absolute number one thing I feel bad about about myself. But yeah, I also understand that it's more so for you – I originally wanted to write something like "it's bad enough for men as it is" in response but it felt too single outey so I chickened out and generised it :S

Regardless mate I really feel you and hope it works. Do not go gently into that bald spot
